00:00Danny, just over a week as a Blackpool player, how have you found your time so far?
00:03Yeah, I've loved my time here so far. I mean, the first game at home to West Brom was a great reception from the fans
00:09and just couldn't wait to get started and meet all the fans. I feel like it's been a good week on the grass,
00:15learning new things, finding out how Blackpool play, but overall it's been a good week.
00:20Yeah, it was that day I'm doing for you all, a good taste of things to come.
00:23Yeah, 100%. I mean, I've heard a lot about the fans and when it's good, the pace is rocking.
00:28So, I can't wait to see more of it and hopefully more supporters come out for the first league game of the season.
00:35How much do you know about Blackpool before you joined the club?
00:37Yeah, I'd say I knew quite a bit. I mean, I spoke to a few players that have been here.
00:42I spoke to Maya Kirby, I'm a good friend of him. I spoke to him about the club and he was just saying it's a really good club to be at.
00:47I mean, obviously the gaffer here is the name in the game and yeah, it was just really appetising for me to come in and play my football for the season.
00:54So, yeah, I've learnt a lot about it and I mean, I can remember it from when their days was in the Prem and I mean, yeah, I just can't wait to keep on playing.
01:04Yeah, I think a lot of people of a certain age can remember Blackpool in the Prem from being a young kid.
01:08It's like nostalgia, ain't it? And just them coming up and obviously taking the league by starting with the way they play at times.
01:13Yeah, no, 100%. I mean, I used to watch them when they was in the Prem.
01:16Hopefully this season push on, they'll hopefully get promoted and get them back to where they should belong.
01:20You mentioned the gaffers. How big a pull is that for a young player?
01:23Yeah, it's been a massive pull. I mean, I spoke to him on Zoom and I mean, ever since I spoke to him, I really wanted to get here.
01:30I wanted to play under him. It's a great gaffer. I'm hopefully learning a lot this season and hopefully push on.
01:35Yeah, what has he been like so far? Is he what you'd expect him to be like?
01:38Yeah, I mean, 100%. He's enthusiastic and there's so much for me to learn from him. I mean, he's been at the top of the game for so many years.
01:46And I mean, yeah, he's a great football player.
01:48Yeah, he brings years of experience. I think he was at Palace before you and I were born.
01:53Yeah, yeah.
01:53So he's had a long time in the game.
01:54Yeah, 100%. It's a lot of knowledge for him to give over to me. And yeah, as I say, I'm just really looking forward to playing under ground and hopefully get many wins this season.
02:02You've had a lot of different experiences in your career so far.
02:05Obviously, you started in non-league. You got signed by Palace and then Roland Smalls as well.
02:08So how much has that defined you as a player?
02:11Yeah, I mean, playing non-league at such a young age, it made me learn a lot. And I'd say it made me grow up a lot.
02:18And very quickly, I mean, as you know, first team is a lot different to 21s. I mean, I've had my fair spell of 21s and first team.
02:26So, I mean, I've learned a lot from both areas. But playing in non-league really made me who I am now.
02:32And it's made me, like, I feel physical and I'm ready to play men's football.
02:37Yeah, that'll set you up well. Obviously, you can learn all the technical stuff at 21s. But in terms of competing in a proper game, you know, a lot of introduction.
02:44Yeah, I mean, I've said it a lot. I mean, 21s is, I wouldn't say not real football, but people don't really care if you make mistakes.
02:51Whereas first team, it's a lot about winning, winning mentality, making mistakes. You can't really do it. You can't switch off because there's people here that are fighting for their lives.
02:59And I mean, it's a great place to be at. And I mean, that's where I thrive. I like being under pressure.
03:05And I feel like in the first team industry, you have to be able to be under pressure and get as many wins as possible.
03:11You've probably learnt that more than ever. At Bromley, a team that has only come up to the EFL and, you know, was obviously competing and trying to finish high-cost one.
03:18No, 100% I'm forever thankful to Bromley for the last season. It couldn't have really went better for the first loan.
03:24I learnt so much there for a lot of people and, yeah, wish them all the best for the future.
03:29How do you describe your style of play? Obviously, you're right back, but you like getting forward, don't you?
03:32Yeah, I mean, I'd say I like to attack more than defend, but I like to do both, really, because it's both part of the game.
03:40I mean, especially for the modern-day full-back, you have to be able to get forward and get back.
03:44And, yeah, I'd say I'm on the front foot and I like to be positive every time I get the ball.
03:48And hopefully I can get the fans excited and off their seats.
03:51Yeah, do you think you can really bring something to excite the fans and obviously joining the other other talented players here?
03:56Yeah, no, 100%. I mean, I'm looking forward to putting on the shirt again
04:00and hopefully making it a really positive season for the club and for me.
04:04And, yeah, I just really want to push on.
04:06Are your aims as simple as obviously progressing yourself but also enjoying team success?
04:10Yeah, no, 100%. I mean, if I enjoy team success, then I'm going to be doing well.
04:14So, obviously, the team come first, but if it can benefit me as a player and as a person, then that's even better.
04:23But hopefully this season get loads of wins and get the fans really happy.
