00:00You mentioned your versatility in playing different areas. You were back in the No.10 role, which it's been a while since you played there on Saturday, and you got yourself a goal.
00:06So how much did you enjoy being a bit more advanced?
00:08Yeah, I enjoyed it. I think as I am, as a player, I like to get forward and, you know, try and make the box and stuff.
00:13So it was good to play a bit more advanced in the few games before.
00:17I've sort of played a bit deeper where you have to be a little bit more disciplined.
00:20But I was in more of a sort of a free role at the weekend where I could get forward.
00:24So, yeah, I enjoyed it.
00:25Do you feel you can offer the gaffer a completely different option to anyone else,
00:29especially with the strikers, maybe with a couple of injuries up front, you can get more advanced?
00:33Yeah, I think, you know, a good thing about me is I'm sort of quite versatile.
00:37Like I said, I can play out wide on the left, in the middle, a little bit higher up,
00:41even as a second striker if needed to be.
00:43So I think that's, you know, something that I'm quite good at.
00:47Since the gaffer's come in, the last six months have been about moving away from sort of the old system, moving to something new.
00:52What was the reaction like at half-time against Mansfield when you said,
00:55we're going to go back to the feet of the bat with wing-backs?
00:58I don't think anyone was too surprised, really.
01:00We knew that we needed to change something because, you know, it clearly wasn't working.
01:05So, and we've played this system before under previous managers.
01:09So a lot of the players, you know, have played that system before.
01:12So it wasn't, you know, too much of a shock to get used to.
01:15So, yeah.
01:16Did it click quite naturally compared to, obviously, it's been years in the making, that old system?
01:20Yeah, definitely.
01:21I think there was, you know, quite a few players here who have played that system before under managers at this club.
01:27So it wasn't, you know, too hard to get used to.
01:29And I think the momentum did change in the second half.
01:32You know, we got the ball out wide more.
01:34We were able to create more opportunities.
01:35So, yeah, it worked.
01:37Obviously, last year you was out of contract, but there was an option.
01:39And this year you're out of contract again.
01:40You must be fed up of thinking every year, what's going to happen now?
01:44Yeah, no, I mean, that's, you know, that's how football is.
01:47But like I said, I'm just, you know, I really enjoy my football.
01:50I don't get involved too much with, you know, all the stuff going on in the background.
01:53I just focus on my football and my performances and that will take care of itself.
01:58Would you like to get it done pretty quickly?
01:59Or are you happy, patient, to wait till the end of the season?
02:03I think whatever they sort out.
02:05You know, I've got a good agent who looks after me, you know, and I'm in safe hands with him.
02:08And, you know, he will get what's best for me.
02:11So, like I said, again, I'm just focusing on my football.
02:15You mentioned, obviously, you've moved a long way away from home to make the move to Blackpool.
02:19Is Blackpool home now for you?
02:21I mean, Norwich will always be my home.
02:23You know, that's where the heart is.
02:24That's where I was born and grew up.
02:26But now I'll definitely have a special place, you know, in my heart for Blackpool.
02:31How much do you feel you've changed since making the move up north?
02:33Of course, big time and growing up a lot as well.
02:36Yeah, I had to grow up quickly.
02:38Obviously, I lived at home with my mum and dad and had to move up here.
02:41I was living by myself, so I had to grow up quickly.
02:44But now it's done me the world of good, you know, moving away from home.
02:47And it was a new experience for me, something I've never done.
02:50And I think, you know, I took it in my stride and I'm doing quite well.
02:54Was it something you expected as a young footballer?
02:55You know, to get one, get the chance in the EFL and two, make such a big move?
02:59Yeah, I mean, that was the dream, you know, ever since I was little.
03:03I wanted to, you know, be a professional footballer.
03:06You know, in my mind, it wasn't, you know, I'd like to go and stay somewhere close to home,
03:11wherever the best opportunity was for me.
03:14And that was Blackpool.
03:15So, you know, it didn't matter how far away it was or anything.
03:18I got the opportunity and I was, you know, really glad to.
03:21I know a few weeks ago, your dad posted when you made your 100th league appearance.
03:25So, a big, proud family thing.
03:26Is everyone in your family now Blackpool kind of thing?
03:29Yeah, definitely there.
03:30I've got, you know, I've got the best family.
03:32They travelled, you know, Norwich is about five hours away.
03:35They try and get to as many games as they can.
03:37They come to the away games.
03:39Even when I was back in Norwich playing, you know, Sunday league,
03:42there'd be every game, my mum and dad, two sisters as well.
03:45They'd get dragged to the game in the cold.
03:46So I've got a very supportive family and I appreciate them all.
