00:07on a private gathering in Kemumin.
00:10State Police Chief Datuk Muhammad Yusof Mamat emphasised the operation was conducted based
00:15on intelligence and evidence with no discriminatory intent.
00:20He said the raid on the homestay was carried out to maintain public order and safeguard
00:25moral values in the state.
00:27According to the police chief, intelligence reports revealed that invitations to the
00:31event were circulated through WhatsApp among a select group.
00:35Notably, the event had no involvement from any official bodies such as NGOs or health
00:40ministry.
00:42During the raid at 1am, 20 individuals at the premises identified themselves as members of
00:48the gay community.
00:49The raid also uncovered what police described as hundreds of condoms and several boxes of
00:55HIV medication at the premises.
00:58Police checks on mobile phones led to the discovery of pornographic videos involving same-sex acts
01:04in the possession of three individuals.
01:07All three were subsequently charged under Section 292 of the Penal Code at the Kota Baru Magistrates'
01:14Court on July 20.
01:17The trio pleaded guilty and were fined between 3,000 and 4,000 ringgit each.
01:22Muhammad Yusof has advised the public not to spread unverified information about the incident
01:28and to continue cooperating with authorities to preserve harmony in the state.
01:33Rights group Justice for Sisters had urged the Kelantan police to verify and correct any
01:38misinformation they disseminated regarding the event.
01:42Contrary to police claims, the group said the event was a health initiative, providing
01:47sexual health and HIV-related information, condoms and voluntary testing to promote safer
