Erik Menendez is battling a health issue that is so serious his lawyer is asking California Governor Gavin Newsom to release him immediately, ahead of next month's parole hearing.

00:14client or anything else but i think if there was ever anybody who should be furloughed especially

00:20right now uh a month before the hearing it's eric and uh lyle slapped me for saying he shouldn't

00:27was was he was he diagnosed with something he's he's being treated right now i'll leave it at that

00:35it's a serious condition and he needs i think to be out and so he can focus on the hearing and i

00:42would call the governor he's done he's done this in the past especially in the covid and post-covid

00:47era the furlough i would ask that he furlough eric uh in advance of the hearing and uh he can do that

00:53with one uh stroke of the pen and i think it's called for and i don't want to get into the

00:59weeds on the medical condition i'm gonna leave it for him and his loved ones but i think right now

01:25condition and i just think he should be a role furloughed i think is the proper term um and he

01:31medically furloughed in advance of the hearing so that he can work uh with the parole attorney and

01:38and get up to speed and be ready and and do it and give it his best shot i think that it's the only

01:45fair and equitable thing to do look is it is it is it furloughing him so he can get better medical

01:53treatment on the outside i'm not gonna i even go there i just think furloughing so that he's got his

01:59best shot at the hearing and i think that that's something the governor has done and i would ask that

02:06the governor do it now and and do it uh with 29 days before the work have have have you communicated

02:13this with the governor's office i'll just leave it at that i think the governor should do it
