00:00It's absolutely delighted to be here today to see the launch of the new fleet of Scrambler bike vehicles.
00:07Now, the reason why we have this is because it's probably the biggest issue that's been brought to me.
00:12Where have I go across Lancashire?
00:14The real concern the public have about the missions of e-bikes and e-scooters,
00:19the anti-social behaviour, riding on pavements, dangerous riding that is going on,
00:26the transport of toys for drug dealers that we see, young people with balaclavas on, causing a real menace.
00:33And so we have had some great operations already with the police.
00:37Last weekend alone, we had 41 bikes that were seized in Preston.
00:42And so the police are doing a great job already, over 400 bikes seized in the last year.
00:48But this will allow them to pursue some of the more dangerous, the young people that can go into places that the police normally wouldn't be able to follow them.
01:01So this is a real asset to the police.
01:04And this is about making sure that the streets of Lancashire are kept safe and secure.
01:10It is about being proactive as well.
01:12It's about working with the schools, about the education side, about ensuring that young people will know what is legal and what is illegal.
01:21But you've got to have the enforcement side of it as well.
01:26And this will allow the police absolutely to enforce that and seize bikes where they're being used in a dangerous and malicious way.
