Romania's coastal city and popular Black Sea resort of Mamaia sees a sharp decline in tourists
The decline is likely a result of the government’s decision to cut the value of holiday vouchers which were used by tourists to pay for hotel accommodation, food, drink, activities and entertainment.

00:00According to the latest Eurostat data, only 26.6% of Romanians could afford a one-week holiday last year, whether in the country or abroad.

00:20The tourist numbers decrease is clearly seen in Mamaya Resort, where hundreds of sunbeds are now empty.
00:27The decline in the value of holiday vouchers seems to be one of the reasons why sales have decreased in recent months.
