The surge followed a trade agreement between the two countries that eased restrictions on the shipment of critical minerals. China's rare earth magnet exports to the U.S. surged 660% in June to 353 metric tons, according to customs data. The June trade agreements resolved rare earth shipment issues and included Nvidia’s plan to resume sales of its H20 AI chips to China. Analysts expect magnet shipments to rise in July as more exporters secured licenses in June.
