Elon Musk's X said Monday it will not comply with French prosecutors investigating alleged algorithmic bias and manipulation, according to Bloomberg. The company called the probe politically motivated and a threat to free speech. The company said it has not been informed of specific charges and criticized the inquiry’s reliance on what it described as biased experts with agendas against the platform. The investigation, launched earlier this month, follows reports from a lawmaker and a French official alleging X’s algorithm enabled foreign interference. X is also under EU scrutiny for possible violations of the Digital Services Act, which mandates transparency and controls for disinformation.
