00:00I like that. Good idea.
00:01Hi, Mr. Mayor.
00:02What's up, Kelly? How are you?
00:03I'm good. I'm good.
00:04I wanted to ask you, earlier today, Secretary Noah criticized Sanctuary City mayors, including yourself,
00:11about your policies in connection to the shooting of the Border Patrol officers.
00:15He said Sanctuary Cities are unsafe and have to reflect that shooting.
00:18Your response to that?
00:20Well, I'm sure if you're covering the story, I'm sure you're going to correct it
00:24and let everyone know that I have nothing to do with the rules that are put in place.
00:30I just carry out the rules.
00:32The rules are if you're in the city of New York, you have a right to services.
00:36Go to the hospital, educate your children.
00:39You have a right to get police services if need be.
00:44When you do an analysis of this case, we arrest people.
00:47The courts determine if they're going to stay in jail or not.
00:51This person has been part of a revolving door criminal justice system, allowed to get back on the streets.
00:58And I'm sure in the last three years and seven months that you've covered me,
01:04you know how outraged I am because of Andrew's bail reform laws on how we have this revolving door criminal justice system.
01:13So I am extremely angry that we have a Custom Border Patrol officer that is in the hospital
01:21because a person that should have not been on our street was on our street.
01:25And I've said this over and over again.
01:27And so when you hear people who defend like the shooter,
01:33they defend my actions of coordinating with federal authorities to take dangerous people up the streets.
01:39That is who they are protecting.
01:41I'm not protecting them.
01:42I'm very clear, always have been clear, stop the revolving door system,
01:46go after the dangerous migrants and asylum seekers who are here,
01:50and allow hardworking people who are in this city to go on with their lives as they go through the process.
01:57And so I'm sure in your reporting, you will correct that problem for me.
