In this video, Neil Tappin and Jezz Ellwood look at 10 of the most demoralising shots you can hit. We all hit bad shots at the wrong time and these some of the most frustrating. They cover everything from hitting your opening tee shot into trouble to three putting from close range for bogey.

00:00Now golf is a fantastic sport, I love it, but as most of you watching this will know,
00:04it is also incredibly frustrating at times. Now we're here at the London Club and in this
00:10video we're going to take a look at 10 of the most demoralising golf shots you can hit.
00:17Let's get started.
00:22OK, so right of the 12th hole here at the London Club and Jez has got two options, he can either
00:31chip it back out over to the left here, or he can be a bit more aggressive and play it
00:35to the right. I'm not sure there's a huge amount to be gained there, it's par 5, he doesn't
00:38need to go for it. Let's see what option he goes for.
00:41Ooh, that is demoralising.
00:46There's nothing to be gained this way at all.
00:52Well these short irons have been causing Neil a bit of grief of late, a tendency to pull
00:57them left of target, but he's been working hard on the range, putting in the hours to
01:01try and sort things out. 150 here, only a short iron for Neil.
01:08It's got 50 yards left.
01:15Ooh, that is a shank.
01:27OK, so 11th hole here at the London Club, tough par 3. Now Jez has hit a really good drive down
01:35into the mouth of the green, should be able to escape here with a pie. He's just deciding
01:39whether to chip it or to putt it. Pretty sure he'll go for the putter.
01:43Oh, oh, he's gone for the chipper. Let's see how he gets on.
01:48Gordon, why don't you just use the putter?
01:55So this is the 13th on the heritage course at the London Club. It's a classic risk-reward
02:04par 4. It's playing off the four tees today and it's straight down wind. Now Tapas is a
02:09pretty long hitter. I'm pretty sure that he will have a go at this. Probably doesn't even
02:14need driver. So, oh, looks like he actually has something else in mind.
02:22Oh no, don't go left.
02:26So that is just what he didn't want to do. Iron for safety, found a bunker, now has to
02:31play straight over the water.
02:38So we're here on the 10th green on the heritage course at the London Club.
02:41Neil has left himself this 12-footer for birdie after a good approach.
02:44He needs something to happen in this round, so let's see.
02:51Well, he's knocked it a little way past, but he should have no trouble in just tidying that one up.
02:56I'm sure he would have liked it to be just a touch closer maybe, but, well, let's see.
03:06Oh my goodness, the horseshoe. That is going to hurt.
03:15Tenth hole, third shot. Now, this is a tricky scenario. Downhill lie, tight flag, we've all been there.
03:21But Jez is an experienced campaigner. He knows full well the number one mistake you make in this position
03:27is to get too cute with it.
03:29So Jez is just going to play the sort of old pro shot, hit it past the flag, take your chance
03:34from sort of 10 or 15 feet. Very, very simple. No mistakes need to be made.
03:44Oops.
03:45So it's competition day and Neil's hopes are up. He's been playing well in friendly rounds recently.
03:56He knows that his handicap should be coming down. This is the day that he thinks he's going to do it.
04:01He's treated himself to a new glove. He's treated himself to a brand new golf ball.
04:06He's even done a little bit of stretching on the tee there. So this is the day where things all go completely according to plan.
04:13Or not.
04:17Oh no. No. It's gone left. I have to play a provisional.
04:35Well I see what Neil was trying to do there. This is the 12th hole on the heritage course at the London club.
04:40Really requires a little bit of a fade round the corner and it's a great chance, par 5.
04:44But if you over fade it, you're in the trees on the right and if you do what Neil has just done, you hold on to it and you're up that bank on the left where the rough is pretty impenetrable.
04:53Right, don't go left.
04:57Oh my goodness. Is that an action replay of the first one? Deja vu time?
05:02Are you joking?
05:04I think it probably is.
05:06OK, so we've reached a critical phase in the round here. Jez has driven into the water and he's now got a very difficult pitch over that water to the green.
05:18Could be a cricket score if he gets this wrong. Hang on a second. Hang on a second. That's pretty close. He could even escape here with a par.
05:28What is the point?
05:32Well there you have it. That's our look at 10 of the most demoralising shots in golf.
05:40If you've liked the video, hit the like button. But also, have we missed anything?
05:44Is there a more demoralising shot that we've not somehow included? We'd love to hear your thoughts.
05:49But that's it for now. Thanks for watching. We'll see you next time.
05:58Bye.
