00:00The church was never meant to be fractured.
00:03Christ did not die to establish denominations.
00:06He died to redeem a people, to call a body unto Himself, unified under one gospel, one
00:13Lord, one faith, and one baptism.
00:16Yet today we find ourselves surrounded by a vast landscape of division, 28, 280, even
00:23thousands of denominations, each claiming to represent the truth.
00:28How did we get here?
00:30And more importantly, how do we discern what aligns with God's Word and what doesn't?
00:35The danger is this, when we begin to define the church by tradition rather than truth,
00:42by preference rather than principle, and by culture rather than Christ, we open the door
00:48to error.
00:50This is not about attacking denominations.
00:53It's about clarity.
00:54It's about knowing what is biblical, what is historical, and what is simply man-made.
01:00We must examine every doctrine, every creed, every practice through the lens of Scripture
01:07alone.
01:08Because at the end of the day, it's not about what label you wear.
01:12It's about whether your faith is grounded in the inerrant, sufficient, authoritative Word
01:18of God.
01:19So today we'll walk through 28 Christian denominations, not to divide further, but to expose, to clarify,
01:26and to call the church back to truth.
01:29Un Roman Catholicism, rooted in apostolic succession and tradition, it elevates church authority
01:35alongside Scripture.
01:37While Scripture is affirmed, doctrinal trust rests heavily on church councils and the papacy.
01:43We must ask, where is the supremacy of Christ to Eastern Orthodoxy?
01:49They share Catholic tradition in many respects, but reject papal supremacy, emphasis on liturgy
01:56and mystery.
01:57Yet the question remains, does mystical ritual supplant the clarity of Scripture?
02:03Three.
02:04Anglicanism, Episcopal, a via media, a middle way between Catholicism and Protestants.
02:11With its book of common prayer, it walks a fine line.
02:15Do its sacramental rites overshadow the sola scriptura principle?
02:20Four.
02:21Lutheranism, founded on Martin Luther's doctrine of justification by faith alone.
02:26Strong on grace, yet some streams adhere to human traditions.
02:31Still its recovery of gospel liberty is commendable.
02:34Five.
02:35Reformed, Presbyterian, rooted in Calvin's sovereignty of God and covenant theology, solid on Scripture
02:42and God-centered doctrine.
02:44Beware of legalism that sometimes creeps under covenantal garb.
02:49Six.
02:50Baptists.
02:51With believers' baptism and congregational governance, Baptists champion personal conversion.

03:01Methodist, Wesleyan, Arminian emphasis on free will and holiness, they stress sanctification,
03:08but does experience override the finished work of Christ?
03:12Eight.
03:13Pentecostal, charismatic, vibrant in spirit and gift expression, but must guard against
03:19emotionalism and doctrinal excesses.
03:23The gifts are biblical, but they must never eclipse the gospel's centrality.
03:27Nine.
03:28Non-denominational evangelical, independently governed, gospel focused, but independence can sometimes
03:35mean a lack of accountability or doctrinal clarity.
03:38Ten.
03:39Restoration movement, churches of Christ, disciples of Christ, a return to the primitive church
03:44and believers' baptism.
03:46Commendable zeal for New Testament purity, but beware of reductionism that discounts authority
03:52of broader church history.
03:53Eleven.
03:54Lutheran free church, confessional Lutherans, hold tightly to the book of Concord.
04:00They maintain historic doctrine with rigor, though sometimes at the expense of contemporary
04:06relevance.
04:07Twelve.
04:08Reformed Baptists, particular Baptists, blend Reformed theology with believers' baptism.
04:14Commendable resolution to combine Calvinist doctrine with congregational polity.
04:19We now ask you, Nazarene, holiness heritage, like Methodist, emphasize entire sanctification,
04:26but must continually stress Christ's finished work, not human performance.
04:31Fourteen Seventh-day Adventist, Sabbath observant mixed with apocalyptic prophetic emphasis.
04:38Some unique doctrines depart from traditional biblical orthodoxy, like their investigative judgment.
04:44Fifteen Jehovah's Witnesses, denies Trinity, eternal hell, deity of Christ.
04:49Their entire framework rejects the gospel, cultic, in doctrine, clearly outside biblical
04:55faith.
04:56Sixteen Latter-day Saints, Mormons, add extra biblical Scripture, teach deification of man,
05:02and deny essential Christian truths.
05:05Their Christ is not the Christ of Scripture.
05:07Seventeen.
05:08Christian Science, replaces gospel and medicine with metaphysical idealism.
05:12It's not gospel, it's mysticism void of biblical substance.
05:16Eighteen.
05:17Unitarian Universalist, denies Trinity, original sin, eternal judgment, embraces universal salvation,
05:25rewrites gospel entirely in humanistic terms.
05:29Nineteen.
05:30Quakers, religious society of friends.
05:33Historically pacifist and spirit-led.
05:35Contemporary branches vary wildly from liberal pluralism to evangelical Quakers.
05:41Must ask, whose voice are we following, the spirit or the flesh?
05:46Twenty Anabaptists, Mennonites, Amish.
05:49Pacifists, believers baptism, discipleship, strong on community and separation, but their separatism
05:57can sometimes hush gospel engagement.
06:00Twenty One.
06:01Church of Christ, scientist.
06:03Note, sometimes distinguished from restoration, see in the verse for ten, again, metaphysical
06:09healing without gospel truth must quiet sincerity with biblical Christ.
06:14Twenty Two.
06:15Brethren, Plymouth Brethren, open, exclusive.
06:18Simple low structure churches focused on Scripture, but division over fellowship can fracture
06:23the unity they pursue.
06:24Twenty Three.
06:25Church of God, Anderson Cleveland, holiness movement with charismatic practices.
06:31Good on personal piety, but open to the same pitfalls of Pentecostal excess.
06:37Twenty Four.
06:38Assemblies of God.
06:39Large Pentecostal body, gifts of spirit are affirmed, but structure safeguards are essential
06:44to prevent abuse.
06:45Twenty Five.
06:46Salvation Army, strong emphasis on mercy ministry, social work, holiness, no sacraments, small
06:53group accountability, yet does its moralism overshadow gospel proclamation?
06:58Six.
06:59Evangelical free.
07:00Evangelical, autonomous, gospel centered.
07:03Broadly orthodox, but autonomy sometimes weakens collective doctrinal discipline.
