00:24should I say Taiwan Air Force has received its first F-16 Block 70 fighter

00:30jet from a contract that was signed in 2019 this contract was having an order

00:37of at least 66 units the Taiwan voice defense minister participated in the

00:43official ceremony at the Lockheed Martin Greenville South Carolina facility the

00:49first badge of these F-16 was built and configured in November 22 with the

00:55testing and the pilot training continued since then the continued deliveries of

01:00the contract is expected to run through till the end of 2026 that's almost like

01:0518 months from today the F-16s are set to replace Taiwan's aging Mirage 2000 fleet

01:11which has suffered from high crash rates and is having an outdated avionics

01:17systems because no new Mirage is being built by France itself so there's no

01:23upgrade to the available avionics for the Mirage 2000 fleet on the other hand

01:30Philippine Air Force is also likely to buy at least 20 F-16 Block 70 aircraft in the

01:37coming year with a possible contract if signed and went ahead will be of 5.6

01:43billion dollars though later Philippines defense secretary in June 25 has casted

01:49doubt over purchase due to budgetary constraints on the other hand US

01:54Department has issued a detailed press release back in April about its effort

02:00to get this sale cleared from US Congress and this release had all the

02:04details of the requisite equipment to be provided alongside the jets to the

02:09Philippines now once fully delivered the Taiwan Air Force will operate one of the

02:15largest F-16 fleets globally surpassing almost 200 aircrafts including the 140

02:22F-16 AB models delivered in the 1990s and some of them were later upgraded to

02:29Block V or Block 70 standards under the Phoenix Rising program but these remain

02:36structurally behind the original and full Block 70 standard around 22 such

02:41upgraded F-16 A to Block V are currently operated by Taiwan Air Force on the other

02:49side Viper standard Falcon will also be a big boost or should I say generational leap

02:55to the Philippines Air Force that is having lower than the moderate air power now

03:01despite most of the world's F-16 fleet are becoming outdated and are being retired

08:12the longer range tracking better coolants or thermal management system better electronic warfare capabilities

08:19especially the anti-jamming and the anti-spoofing modules the software upgrade of Block 70 can support the

08:24integration of the new targeting pods including the sniper pod the IRC track system that will increase its

08:33detection and lethality the multi-mold radar helps in improved detection of the targets while advanced

08:40air-to-air missile can enhance targeting range with some air-to-ground weapons can target ground and surface

08:46vessel as well however still J-20 is a stealth design to avoid its own detection while J-20 itself is equipped

08:56with a much more advanced AESA radar with much higher number of TR modules and a higher electricity power

09:04available which is system tailored for long-range detection and target tracking in the contested environments
