00:0023 days, that's awfully long. Plus, you read his license wrong.
00:04Here's a look at new Trick-or-Treat Studios' The Scream Greats Series 2, Jeepers Creepers The Creeper.
00:20Trick-or-Treat Studios is proud to present the officially licensed Jeepers Creepers The Creeper action figure
00:25as part of their Scream Greats Series 2 collection.
00:28Scream Greats features iconic characters from some of your favorite cinematic masterpieces.
00:32Each highly detailed figure is an 8-inch scale and would be perfect for display in any collection.
00:37Apparently beating all the other Scream Greats Series 2 figures to the starting line.
00:40Oh, sorry. Be eating the other Scream Greats Series 2 figures.
00:45Let's take the tape measure, shall we, and see how tall the new Scream Greats Series 2 Jeepers Creepers Creeper stands.
00:50While I'm doing this as well, I'd like to thank the folks over at Trick-or-Treat Studios
00:53that were kind enough to provide this early sample copy.
00:56It is listed right now on their site, but it isn't listed as being in stock yet.
01:01When he eventually drops at $39.99, you can also be notified when he's available.
01:05Now, he's clocking in, even though he's advertised on their site at 8 inches in height.
01:09I'm actually clocking the Creeper at 7.5 inches in height, or roughly about 19.5 centimeters tall.
01:16Maybe, just maybe, the Creeper has met somebody else that's also in his field.
01:19Cornfield. Here's what the figure looks like with the Scream Greats Pumpkinhead, one of my all-time favorites that they've done so far.
01:26Here's also a figure that knows a little bit about farming.
01:28Here's Farmer Vincent from, of course, Motel Hell.
01:31Here's also what he looks like with Candyman.
01:33And again, one of my personal favorites too, of course, the 1978 Michael Myers.
01:37I did say earlier that the Creeper was a little less than 8 inches.
01:40Perhaps to give him that 8-inch height, the figure does also come in clear with his hat.
01:44The hat is made of more of a softer material, unlike the harder plastic that they've used for the Creeper.
01:49Of course, it does finish the look of the Creeper rather nicely.
01:51You just pick up, of course, your figure.
01:53You can then choose for yourself how you want to have it displayed.
01:55There is actually, if you look at it, there is one way where the hat looks a little more flat to the front.
02:00But you can kind of see the way it kind of comes down on the back here.
02:02Just twist this around, and you get that more low, ominous look when it's on the Creeper's head.
02:08The figure, of course, does also come in clear with his axe.
02:10Now, the axe serves as well as to be a pitchfork on the back.
02:13This is made more of a harder plastic.
02:15I love the gunmetal gray that they've painted the tops and tips to this.
02:19Don't worry, it's not sharp, even though this person can pretend that it is.
02:22I do actually like that they've added a little silver rim around the edge there, so it does actually look like it's razor sharp.
02:28It's a little large on the size, so when you do put it in the Creeper's hand,
02:31the Creeper's hand technically does have a gap between his thumb and his fingers.
02:35But because of the hard plastic, it's a little harder just to pry the fingers away.
02:39So I found the easiest thing to do was just take the axe.
02:42First of all, we'll kind of just take off the hat.
02:44Take the axe and sort of dowel it in between his palms.
02:49That's basically all you really have to do.
02:50Then it gets far enough down there, and then the Creeper's perfectly fine to hold his axe.
02:55I guess we could really leave off his hat for right now, so you guys can see what his head sculpt looks like.
02:59I've always really been a big fan of also the Creeper's design.
03:04Now, Creeper is also kind of known for it looking like more of an old man, until, of course, he reveals his look at the end.
03:09Fanning out his face and adding some really more ominous wings, the Creeper then kind of reveals himself to be more of a gargoyle.
03:16But in this state, boy, oh boy, that would be cool if they could release a deluxe version of the Creeper.
03:20But I will say, though, in this state, though, he's a really well-painted figure.
03:25Props should really be given to not only the team behind the scenes at Turquetry Stews who sculpted this figure from scratch,
03:31but then also the talented artist that went in there and painted this thing as well.
03:34I think that also really helps to finish the figure is if you look on the back of him as well.
03:38Instead of going the route of sculpting hair, going and rooting hair like this gives him much more of that lower kind of old man look.
03:46Now, with this, too, it doesn't seem to impede at all the figure's articulation when it comes to his head.
03:50I mean, obviously, just using real fibrous hairs as opposed to sculpting them does make a figure, again, like this have much more posability than really he should have had if he had plastic hair.
04:02Really, though, like this.
04:03It just kind of gives a more like a cobweb look to the back of the hairstyle.
04:07Again, this is just glued on the back of it, but it's adhered well enough that I don't feel like the hairs are going to fall off at all.
04:13But, man, oh, man, that's a good-looking head sculpt for the Creeper.
04:16Let's just bring his arm out of the way here.
04:19Now, it's really kind of hard to look at any new merchandise for Jeeves Creepers without thinking, of course, the director, Victor Salva.
04:25I generally like to kind of separate the two things.
04:28The director was doing his own thing, unfortunately.
04:31And, of course, the movie can stand on its own for being just a really interesting film feature.
04:36The fact that you have this thing surfacing every 23 days and it kills for 23 days,
04:40it does, of course, cause some conflict when it comes to the plot holes of having the film have to squeeze itself into multiple sequels.
04:48Because, of course, like in Jeeves Creepers 1 and Jeeves Creepers 2,
04:50he has to kind of play up to the idea that the Creeper's killing around that same time frame.
04:55Jeeves Creepers 3 isn't a bad film at all, especially when you compare it to Jeeves Creepers Reborn.
05:00That's a movie that, even though I, as a completionist, I really feel like I have to go in there and buy the fourth film.
05:06The fourth film is so bad, I've walked past it a couple of times and never chose to really pick it up.
05:12I always really liked the first two Jeeves Creepers.
05:14I probably would say like the second one, even though the first one just has kind of more of the moodiness,
05:20that the second one, kind of the second place, the more I feel the action film,
05:24where it's more intense action, a lot more kills.
05:27But I think certainly the slow pace of the first one is really where I think a lot of fans stick with the franchise.
05:33But the head sculpt is, again, just fantastic on this figure.
05:36Now, he does also have a trench coat.
05:38We can probably go ahead and take the axe out of his hand.
05:41We'll just kind of pop it out the palm here.
05:44There we go.
05:45And we'll get a closer look at the Creeper's jacket.
05:47Now, the jacket itself is technically a separate piece from the rest of the figure's body.
05:51As you can see, though, it's made use of a very nice hard plastic.
05:55It's got some wear and tear done to it as well,
05:57so it does look like it's a tattered old jacket this guy's had for years.
06:01I don't even know if the jacket really even ever belonged to the Creeper,
06:04or if it's a jacket that he found while he was making his kills.
06:08Of course, I do really like the way they've aged and weathered the top of the collar piece here as well.
06:13He does have, of course, the articulation.
06:14We'll kind of run through that more in a second.
06:16But underneath, of course, you've got some additional sculpting for the shirt.
06:19The shirt comes across more like red, I think, in the second and the third film,
06:23more especially the third film.
06:24Here, though, you get a little more of the red only on the one side,
06:28and the rest of it's kind of left to this beige.
06:30Nice weathering is added to it as well.
06:32Good bit of wash that's been given to it.
06:35And, of course, you've also got the old-looking pants.
06:37Now, the thing about the Creeper is he does have technically peggles in the bottoms of his feet.
06:42I certainly do think that Trick or Treat Studios could release at some point a Scream Grates display stands.
06:47Just a stack of stands that you can attach onto the bottoms of the figures,
06:50maybe have Scream Grates written along the top.
06:52They've done that for their sixth-scale Michael Myers figures,
06:55something I'm sure they could probably do as well for their Scream Grates.
06:58The thing about the Creeper, though, is while he does have peggles in the bottoms of his feet,
07:00he doesn't really have a display stand.
07:02I did notice, though, when you are putting the figure down, for example,
07:05he tends to lean a little bit.
07:07A lot of it really has, I feel, more to do with the placement of his feet.
07:10If you have his feet kind of fanned out like this, he has a harder time to stand.
07:14If you, however, though, bring his feet closer together like that,
07:18the Creeper has a much easier time, obviously, standing on his own.
07:21For the figure's articulation, though, the Creeper,
07:24let's just bring his arms down here for a second,
07:26the Creeper's going to have a ball joint in his head,
07:28so that's going to allow the head to move back and forth,
07:30up, down, a bit of a nod there also as well.
07:34The figure doesn't seem to have any swiveling in his waist.
07:37However, though, you can take his arms and rotate them all the way around.
07:40There is also a little bit of a hinge.
07:43You can see, like, the way that they have made the figure,
07:46like you can see there's a hinge right there on the backs of the shoulders.
07:48It does add for a little bit of swivel out.
07:51Not a lot, though.
07:52Hands, however, though, rotate all the way around.
07:55The same on this side as well.
07:56I really like that also they've given one gripping hand,
07:58but then they've kind of given this really creeping hand on the Creeper.
08:02It's a really nice sculpting and equally well painted on all the individual nails.
08:07The feet down below, again, also have some articulation.
08:10Not that I would say that it's a ball joint,
08:12because you can't really move the feet up and down.
08:13However, though, you certainly can move them back and forth.
08:16But whatever your feelings may feel about what may be about the director,
08:19that behind the scenes, of course, that made Jeepers Creepers.
08:22I personally am one that likes to kind of separate the source material.
08:26Of course, there is the director.
08:27We don't really ever want to really sing the praises of the director.
08:30But I think the movie on its own, Jeepers Creepers,
08:32stands as one of the coolest movies that came out in, like, early 2000s, too.
08:37Not that there was really a lot of cool movies coming out for horror when it came to the early 2000s.
08:42And yet, Jeepers Creepers really does stand out.
08:44Of course, it does have subsequent sequels.
08:47Jeepers Creepers 2 was, I thought, a really great film.
08:49The idea of having a bus stop at the side of the road,
08:52and, of course, the Creeper picking out his prey.
08:54Then, of course, there was Jeepers Creepers 3,
08:56which, initially, I didn't really like the idea of Jeepers Creepers,
08:58especially the idea that he could have a souped-up truck.
09:02I was adding, like, little gadgets and traps inside the truck.
09:05Just didn't make any sense to me.
09:07Though, now seeing Jeepers Creepers reborn,
09:09and seeing what a terrible job they did with the final film,
09:12I think Jeepers Creepers 3, by a result of that,
09:15ends up being a better sequel.
09:16So, if you get the chance,
09:18I would really not recommend watching the four Jeepers Creepers.
09:20Only really stop at the third.
09:22When it comes, certainly, though, to the Creeper himself,
09:24you can choose, of course, to have the figure displayed with or without the hat.
09:28I think the hat does finish the look of the Creeper really rather nicely.
09:31But the one thing, unfortunately, about adding the hat,
09:34yes, it gives him a much more shadowy demeanor.
09:36Or, unfortunately, he does lose a lot of the amazing sculpting
09:39that Trick-or-Treat Studios put in the figure in the first place.
09:41Every 23 years, for 23 days, the Creeper feeds.
09:44It's interesting that we're also talking in 20s,
09:46because released to stores in 1998, over 20 years ago,
09:50a little figure line first surfaced called Movie Maniacs,
09:53combining fan-favorite characters from both horror and sci-fi.
09:56It's a line to this day that's still beloved by collectors.
10:00Why I bring up Movie Maniacs, though,
10:02is that what Trick-or-Treat Studios is now doing with their Screen Grades line,
10:05and they feel like a natural progression,
10:08moving from what we got from the 90s
10:09and giving us brand new, somewhat obscure characters,
10:12like Farmer Vincent from Motel Hell,
10:14the more recognizable ones and names like Michael Myers,
10:17and now we get ourselves Jeepers, Creepers, Creeper.
10:20Creeper looks fantastic.
10:22The figure does have limited levels of poseability,
10:25but if you are a fan, though, of the Movie Maniacs,
10:27that comes with the territory.
10:28So standard levels ball joint in the head,
10:31of course swivels in the arms and the hands,
10:33and a little bit in the feet goes a long way.
10:35I think what more is important is the fact that you get stellar-looking sculpts,
10:39really well-painted figures,
10:41and you get, of course, in the case of the Creeper,
10:43all his trusted accessories as well.
10:45He doesn't have any throwing stars,
10:46but I'm sure he can make some in a scratch.
10:48The figure does at least come in clear with his axe,
10:50and of course his hat.
10:51I've left the hat off, though,
10:52spending at least some time, some quality time,
10:54to show you guys just how good that head sculpt actually is.
10:57Just think that the talented team behind the scenes
10:59at Trick or Treat Studios,
11:00I don't know how much time it took them to sculpt and paint this from scratch,
11:03but the end result, though,
11:04is a Creeper that finally,
11:06we don't have to wait 23 years for a better Creeper to come out.
11:09This figure is, again,
11:11you have to kind of separate one from the other.
11:13I know Jeepers Creepers tend to be kind of thought of more as a movie
11:16that's just tied up with a lot of infamy
11:19because of the director behind the scenes.
11:21If you can separate the two, though,
11:23Jeepers Creepers 1, Jeepers Creepers 2,
11:25and to a lesser extent,
11:26the third film are all great in a trilogy.
11:29We don't tend to really acknowledge Jeepers Creepers 4.
11:31Funny, though, enough,
11:32I think in Jeepers Creepers 4,
11:33they did the same thing that they did wrong
11:35in I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer,
11:37turning the Creeper into some supernatural being.
11:40I know he comes back and comes out of hibernation,
11:43but we don't need to turn this thing into a spirit
11:45that turns into crows.
11:47What was that all about?
11:48A big thank you, though, yes,
11:49to the folks over at Trick or Treat Studios
11:51that did provide the sample of the brand new
11:52Scream Greats Series 2 Jeepers Creepers Creeper
11:55that we had the chance to have a look at in this review.
11:58I'll provide, certainly,
11:58the links down below in the video description
12:00if you guys want to head over to their site
12:01to check out the listing.
12:02As it is right now,
12:03there doesn't seem to be an availability,
12:06but when he does drop, though,
12:07he's going to be dropping like it's hot
12:08for $39.99.
12:11What do you guys think of the Creeper?
12:12Let me know down below in the comments section.
12:13And of the four Jeepers Creepers films,
12:15fine, we'll include the last.
12:16Which do you think is the best of the quadrilogy?
12:19Even though, again,
12:20I really think the Jeepers Creepers
12:21should have stuck with a trilogy.
12:22If you guys did enjoy this video,
12:24you can do it a solid yes and throw it a like.
12:26You guys want to stick around for more so?
12:27I hope so.
12:28Even though we are kind of wrapping up things right now
12:30for cornfields,
12:31there will be actually another Scream Great figure
12:33coming your way during this week.
12:35So you may want to be coming back for that.
12:37As always, thanks for watching.
12:38See you guys next time.
