00:00The young star for Kansas City, Rasheed Rice, who was injured last year after only four games,
00:05involved in a multi-car car crash last year in the Dallas area. Yesterday, a Dallas County judge
00:12offering up his sentence, 30 days of jail time that can be served over a five-year probation
00:18period. So the actual legal ruling in the courtroom has now been settled in terms of that
00:26DRS, the NFL's league office, and its disciplinary arm. They get to work in serving up whatever the
00:32suspension is going to be for violations of the NFL's personal conduct policy. ESPN's Adam Schefter
00:38reporting yesterday more than likely multi-game suspension when that punishment is handed down.
00:44That's the next question. Oh yeah, that punishment's going to get handed down quickly because usually
00:48what's the NFL do? It takes that cop out sometimes. We'll let the legal course run through and it takes
00:52two years and then the guy's out of the league or they bang him with a suspension. This guy just
00:56got dropped with a 30-day jail sentence and five years of probation. So the NFL probably should act
01:01quickly. And also, you are a partner in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs. They want to know sooner
01:05than later. Ben, they don't want to be in week seven where Rasheed Rice is having a great season.
01:08Oh, by the way, he's done for eight games. Or in December, he's done for the playoffs. You want to
01:13know sooner than later, which is not a good thing for Kansas City on the field because there is a
01:17suspension coming. But let me ask you this question. I just heard the explanation. It was
01:21a 30-day jail sentence to be served possibly over five years, which means do a couple weekends in
01:25the off-season. What would you rather do? Would you rather do the 30 days all at once or a weekend
01:31here or there? I actually would rather do the 30 days to get it out of the way as opposed to,
01:35well, I'm going to do a weekend which is two days and that's 15 separate weekends. Just get it done.
01:40But also, they work with you a lot of times, right? Hey, 30-day suspended jail sentence. The minute the
01:46season is over, you can serve it up in February, January, or February, March, or April to get that
01:52out of the way. I doubt it's like, hey, by the way, that jail sentence is starting at Thanksgiving
01:56and goes 30 days and then a suspension on top of that. It's tough for Kansas City to adjust to,
02:01but I would assume they would pick up the phone and say, can we get this ruling sooner than later?
02:06And they'll probably acquiesce that and give it to them.
