00:18numbers, with the Israel Ministry of Defense saying that the state of Israel has increased

00:23its defense spending for 2025 and 2026 to 42 billion new Israeli shekels which is approximately

00:30$12.5 billion.

00:33During the 12-day war with Iran, there were multiple reports that Israel was running low

00:38on aero-missiles interceptors' defense system as Iran long-range missiles were seen hitting

00:44targets in Israel.

00:46Aerospace observers said the advanced aero-high-altitude defense systems are critical to countering

00:52long-range ballistic missile threats, like those launched from Iran during the 12-day

00:57war in June 2025.

00:59According to the Israel Ministry of Defense in a press statement on Thursday, the Director

01:05General of the Israel Ministry of Defense, IMOD, Major General, Reservist, Amir Baram, signed

01:12a production contract to significantly accelerate the serial production of aero-interceptors

01:17at IAI, Israel Aerospace Industries.

01:20As part of the deal, IAI will supply the IMOD with a significant additional amount of aero-interceptors.

01:27The deal was led by Moshe Patel, Director of the Israel Missile Defense Organization,

01:34IMDO, within the Ministry's Directorate of Defense Research and Development, DDRD.

01:40The Aero system, developed and manufactured in cooperation with the U.S. Missile Defense

01:46Agency, MDA, demonstrated significant interception capabilities during the Swords of Iron War,

01:53especially during Operation Rising Lion.

01:56The system provides exo-atmospheric and endo-atmospheric interception capabilities against ballistic missile

02:03threats, protecting the State of Israel from strategic long-range threats.

02:07The Aero system integrates cutting-edge technologies and is considered one of the world's most advanced

02:14air and missile defense systems.

02:16IAI is the prime contractor for developing the Aero system and its interceptors through

02:21its MLM facility in partnership with the U.S. company Stark Aerospace.

02:26Other partners include IAI's ELTA and TAMAM Divisions, Elbert Systems, TOMA, and Rafael Advanced Defense

02:34Systems.

02:36The U.S. Missile Defense Agency, MDA, is a major partner of the IMDO at the Ministry's DDRD in

02:44the development and production of Israel's multi-layered defense systems, including the Aero and David's

02:50sling weapon systems, and the production of Iron Dome defense system components.

02:54The strategic cooperation between the MDA and the IMDO helps ensure Israel's technological

03:01edge in air and missile defense.

03:04Also on Thursday, Israel Aerospace Industries, IAI in a statement said, Israel is reinforcing

03:11its defenses on all fronts, at full speed.

03:15In a major move to strengthen national security, the Ministry of Defense has signed a significant

03:21production contract with Israel Aerospace Industries, IAI, to fast-track the mass production of Aero

03:27interceptors.

03:29This strategic step will significantly increase production and expand Israel's interceptor

03:34stockpiles, ensuring the country remains fully prepared for both ongoing operations and future

03:40long-range threats.

03:41The Aero system, designed to intercept ballistic missiles outside Earth's atmosphere, proved its

03:48unmatched performance during the recent defense campaign, saving lives and preventing widespread

03:53damage.

03:54As the lead developer and manufacturer, IAI is operating at full capacity in collaboration

04:00with trusted partners in Israel and around the world.

04:09Israeli-based news media, Jerusalem Post also on Thursday, reported that the Director General

04:15of Israel Defense Ministry, Major General Amir Baram said that Israel will raise its defense

04:21spending by 42 billion new Israel shekels which is, 12.5 billion dollars, this year and

04:28in 2026, the Finance and Defense Ministries said on Thursday, citing the country's security

04:34challenges.

04:36The budget agreement will enable the Defense Ministry to advance urgent and essential procurement

04:41deals critical to national security, the ministry stated in a press release.

04:46A long-term build-up plan starting in 2027 will be developed, per Prime Minister Benjamin

04:52Netanyahu's instructions, to strengthen readiness and technological superiority against the government.

04:58against distant threats, the ministry said.

05:01Additionally, mechanisms for the oversight of the defense budget will be strengthened, according

05:06to the statement.

05:08The Director General of the Ministry, Major General Amir Baram said that this move would

05:13allow the Defense Ministry to replenish consumed stocks of weapons and ammunition.

05:19Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, Defense Minister, Israel Katz, and Finance Ministry Director

05:26General, Ilan Romual welcomed the increase in defense spending.

05:30The challenges ahead are complex, in distant and close arenas, against enemies who openly
