00:00Hi folks, just a few quick updates from Matt Sadler's comments after Walsall's 1-0 win over Aston Villa
00:06and starting with Priestley Farkerson, obviously had a torrid time of injuries at Walsall,
00:11restricted to just 24 appearances and missed pretty much the whole of last season with a long-term fine injury.
00:17Walsall still offered him a one-year deal and when I spoke to Matt Sadler last week,
00:21he talked about the importance of easing him into the fold during pre-season
00:25and hasn't featured in the opening three pre-season friendlies.
00:29However, when I asked for an update last night, Matt Sadler said that he will be involved in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Essington on Saturday
00:39and hopefully then that will be the catalyst to start to ease him and get him into shape where he can start to return to full match fitness.
00:50He could be a key player for Walsall if they can get him fit and get the best out of him.
00:55Matt Sadler made a comment last week where he feels that Priestley Farkerson could be one of the best in the division if he's fully fit.
01:05Elsewhere, Jameel Matt and Levi Amanchi were among the notable absentees
01:10and Sadler said that Amanchi's omission was due to the strength and depth that he has in attack
01:17and said that he's done his work separately in terms of, you know, rather than playing on Tuesday night,
01:24he's made sure that he's kept up to match fitness away from the pitch at the training ground.
01:31And then on Jameel Matt, you know, played a lot of football last season, more than was probably expected of the 35-year-old
01:41and Sadler felt that it just wasn't the sort of game that he needed to play in.
01:46Keeps him fresh, I guess.
01:47And it gave, as Matt Sadler said, an opportunity for him to scan his eye over different options.
01:53Obviously, Albert Odoma and Aaron Presley played the first 60 minutes up front.
01:58And then Josh Gordon and Bournemouth Loney, Johnny Stuttle took over.
02:02So, yeah, in terms of those three, that's kind of the lowdown and the latest on them.
02:08Walsall obviously have this behind-closed-doors friendly on Saturday.
02:13But for those of us being able to watch, there'll be an action next Tuesday against Derby County at the Bescott.
