Are the #Patriots still another WR away from contention?

00:00We talked yesterday a lot about how Terry McLaurin is frustrated down in the nation's

00:05capital with the commanders and not getting his new contract. And if the Patriots would be

00:10interested, well, Burt Breer talked about if Terry McLaurin would be a fit with the New England

00:15Patriots and what he's dealing with in DC. There hasn't been much progress because there hasn't

00:19been much talk between the sides. And I think that's why Terry felt compelled to say what he

00:23said publicly. And this is a guy who has been a team captain for a long time. I mean, exemplary

00:29character, all of that. So my anticipation is that the commanders are going to take a swing at

00:34getting something done with him over the course of the next week, just because it makes too much

00:38sense for both sides. I think the Patriots would be very interested in this. Now, there's a price

00:43point for all of it. And what would that mean? And obviously, he's not going to come here with an

00:48unresolved contract situation. So you'd be talking about a draft pick plus a contract. He's a little

00:54older than people realize because he was a five-year college guy. So he's over 30 now. But

00:59you know, certainly as far as like what they're looking for from a person, from a player helping

01:04Drake, like this guy checks. Draft pick contract all day, all night. I would do it. I couldn't

01:11agree more, Greg. Five straight seasons of a thousand yards. Should have had six. You have the

01:15money. Yeah. You have millions. And he's not going to cost as much as a guy like DK Metcalf

01:20because he's 30 already. This is his last chance to cash in on a big contract. So you're looking at

01:26what, like a four-year deal, probably 110-ish million dollars, Wiggy, right? So just shy

01:33of 30. Yeah. I would say more along those lines. Chime is like 110, 115. And the great

01:41thing about the wide receiver market is there's so many guys who have signed in this past off

01:48season, whether it's Garrett Wilson, whether we saw Justin Jefferson, C.D. Lamb. So you

01:53kind of know, if you're Terry McLaurin, where you fit. You know, Chime's right. He's a little

01:59bit older and you have to kind of look at that. So I don't get A, why Washington's not

02:04doing it because he's their best player. And B, if you're New England, I'm like, what do

02:11you want from us trade-wise? You want a second round pick? You want a second and a fourth?
