00:06New England Patriots ought to revamp at wide receiver and you talked to some

00:10experts. Yeah so I talked to some receiver specialists around the country

00:15who work with professional guys across franchises just to get a sense of like

00:19not only with the Patriots what they need to add to their receiver room and

00:24specifically who they should look at who fits who makes sense but also overall

00:29when we're looking at the draft what is the league getting wrong when they're

00:33putting guys through the testing when they're drafting guys everybody's so

00:38focused on receiver here's the free agent ride receivers trade for this

00:42receiver draft this receiver but the guys all told me the same thing that the

00:47league is getting wrong which I thought was really interesting but then there's

00:51some stuff in there about specifically like Debo Samuel what he would do here

00:55Javon Baker who he was last year versus who will build it be this year so it was

01:01fun to write there was a one interesting person that you talked about because

01:07this could affect the Patriots where didn't you talk to a guy that is Travis

01:13Hunter's receiving coach yes yeah so it's interesting to see what position

01:19he's gonna play because I think if he wants to maximize and make the most

01:25money it's receiver but is he more of a corner naturally because that's his

01:31natural position than a wide receiver has there been any kind of insight yeah

01:36so that was David Robinson who's worked with Travis Hunter and I asked him you

01:41know about his fit in the in the NFL as receiver versus corner and his

01:46perspective was the league wants him to be a corner okay fits as corner he's

01:51going into the draft as a corner but if he's not used and I'm paraphrasing but

01:57this pretty much we said he's not used at least 30% as a receiver at some point

02:02in the NFL it's just such a waste of his attributes so could you actually see

02:06somebody who's playing both sides of the ball I know that's a speculation it

02:10seems like he's gonna lean heavily corner okay but it's like you don't want

02:14to it's kind of like on a smaller level what we have with Marcus Jones here we

02:18were like well if you can throw him out there do some stuff with them first of

02:22all everyone on the staff should know that the offensive coordinator know that

02:28he could do that yeah if you get a chance so be somebody you'll sprinkle in

02:31here and there but he's gonna come in more as a corner okay that's what it

02:35that's what it sounds like yeah that's what it sounds like of those that are

02:38out there who you can only have one free agent wide receiver for this team who do

02:43you want well I wouldn't even look at free agents at this point because I

02:45think now that T Higgins is tagged you got to look at the trade market and if

02:50you can't get DK Metcalf he's kind of the guy who seems to be most in his

02:55prime and that you'd want to pluck from another team and put in here and make an

02:59immediate impact if you can't get him I'm still going Cooper Cup I still think

03:03that Cooper Cup one of the things I talked to these specialists about is the

03:07league's obsession with speed and it's like people who are not specialists in

03:13the wide receiver position are looking in there going we'll just find Tyree kill

03:16find Tyree kill find Tyree kill it's like okay well the thing about Tyree kill

03:21is at a certain point that's the first thing that breaks down right is your

03:25speed so if you bring if you look at something like Cooper Cup that's somebody

03:28who has such solid hands he only had a 2% drop rate last year so there's the

03:33health concerns but I think his makeup both also what he can bring as a leader

03:37in the wide receiver room which needs it I think like he's still such a good fit

03:43for the Patriots would you go cuz Greg brought it up and he brought up another

03:47player and I know maybe wants to go to the West Coast but I would have I would

03:51probably take Devontae Adams over trying to trade for Cooper Cup or Deebo Samuel

03:56I agree I would go DK Metcalf first but if I had to choose between the older

04:01other guys I would do my best to try to see if I could get Devontae Adams before

04:07I go in that direction would you still feel the same way are you still Cooper

04:10Cup all day I both I mean that's the thing is like can you trade and get

04:15Devontae Adams I heard Tommy Curran speaking with I can't I think it was

04:20middays yesterday talking about throw him like 65 million for two years just

04:25guaranteed money from the bag so that he'll come here okay and it's like why

04:29not you have so much money to play with it's gonna be a conversation of are you

04:35targeting a couple of elite talent guys which you haven't had on your roster

04:40in years or are you gonna do a little bit more like what the commanders did

04:43last year we spread that money out among veterans at different positions and try

04:48to support your team that way your commanders my lovely commanders yes all
