00:30Malacanang announced that the President has chosen Attorney Francis Saturnino Juan as the new chairperson of the commission.
00:36Juan is currently the President of the Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines and a former Executive Director and General Counsel of the ERC.
00:44The palace stressed that Juan brings with him extensive experience as an energy expert, which is why the President is confident he will lead the commission effectively.
00:52He has played a key role in operationalizing the wholesale electricity spot market, advocating consumer protection, and promoting renewable energy development through tariff reforms.
