00:00here's skeins of course this was the second year in a row skein started the all-star game
00:04so last year was the first time he got to do this it was kind of old hat to him but there was
00:09something scotty that actually skeins was really fired up about something that was very special to
00:16him about this all-star experience and that was getting to share it with a guy that he watched
00:21growing up a ton clayton kershaw here's skeins yeah yeah i i uh kept my distance a little bit
00:27our lockers were next to each other uh so i asked him i i didn't get any time really to talk to him
00:34yesterday but talk to him a little bit today um he's such a class act like it's it's just so
00:41impressive uh obviously what he's done in the game but the human that he is um
00:47you know we were uh in the in the waiting room before the red carpet today and he had all his
00:53kids and watching him be a dad too it's just um it was just it was it was cool it was a cool
01:00experience for me that's great and i thought what was cool was when they had a mic on kershaw
01:07while he was pitching and he was talking uh as he was pitching i thought that was great
01:13that was great i thought it was cool now it may obviously this it made the game go on forever with
01:19all the stoppages but i think it was cool that they took him out in the middle of the inning
01:23and let him come out and get the big standing ovation from everybody i thought it was cool he
01:27did it with freddie freeman as well uh letting him come out and kind of get a solo tip of the hat
01:33uh to everybody in the crowd in atlanta what did you think of the balls and strikes because a lot of
01:39guys you know they are having kind of fun with it at the same time but a lot of guys went to it
01:43and man there was a few the one that scuba called for in the first inning that ball was right down
01:48the middle i couldn't believe the guy called it a strike and scuba was right the board went up there
01:53and showed him the strike i thought it was cool putting that in you know mike i think it's time
01:57for baseball to get with uh the times uh i think their umpires uh do the best they can i'll give
02:04them that fair enough they do the best they can and their best is ass mustard they are awful they
02:12cannot call balls and strikes every game is a torture chamber watching these guys call balls
02:19and strikes and then you see the dugouts guys getting thrown out of games left and right every
02:24week because they argue balls and strikes because they're always wrong let's get with the times use
02:31the system it works the system is not wrong it is no different than wimbledon or the u.s open when
02:39they use that camera to know if the ball is is um you know out or not it's real simple to me when a
02:47ball moves 100 miles an hour uh the human eye is gonna miss that's as simple as that but you don't
02:54realize how fast it is a tennis ball going 105 or 130 or a baseball pitch going 104 miles an hour 100 or
03:0498 it is really fast and these guys are just reacting instantaneously same as chair umpires same
03:11as linesmen in tennis and they get it wrong all the time why not just get it right and i think it's
03:18simple tap the helmet you get a challenge i like last night no dugout interference no managers no
03:25bench coaches it's pitcher catcher hitter that's it make the call tap they review it boom the computer
03:33tells you exactly the camera if the pitch was a strike or not i think baseball has to use it moving
03:39forward because their umpires are so awful
03:41you
