Our first look at the final season of 'Stranger Things' is finally here. The teaser trailer for season five of the Netflix series just dropped. The new footage is heavy on special effects and spectacle. According to the season's official description, it's the fall of 1987 and "Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown."

00:44Complicating the group's mission is the fact that the government

00:47has placed the town under military quarantine

00:49and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding.

00:58According to the season's logline, the final battle is looming,

01:07and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they've faced before.

01:11To end this nightmare, they'll need everyone, the full party, standing together one last time.

01:16Back in January, co-creator Ross Duffer said about the final episodes,

01:29We spent a full year filming this season.

01:32By the end, we'd captured over 650 hours of footage.

01:36So needless to say, this is our biggest and most ambitious season yet.

01:40It's like eight blockbuster movies. It's pretty insane.

01:42The new season will be released in three parts all around holiday weekends,

01:46with Volume 1 on November 26th, Volume 2 on Christmas, and the finale on New Year's Eve.
