00:08is gonna watch. I don't know if anyone is gonna look this up. Okay, but it's just something that

00:13I really wanted to do. So I really like this Chinese artist, Vanita Wong. I forget how I

00:20found her, but I follow some just like random Chinese pop culture, Chinese musical artists,

00:26you know, whatever stuff. And she probably popped up in like,

00:30a YouTube suggestion or something. And I've been like obsessed with her ever since.

00:35So at least one of these songs I've heard, but I recently realized she has this thing called the

00:42Seventh Seed Trilogy. And there's a music video for each one. Now I've heard Awaken Me. I absolutely

00:47love Awaken Me. I might have heard the other two songs. They are, well, the second song is Seventh

00:53Seed. And the third song is called Kill the Fear. I don't think I've seen the videos for Seventh Seed

00:59or Kill the Fear. I might have seen the one for Awaken Me, but I don't really remember the video.

01:03I just remember being obsessed with this song. So what I wanted to do was just have a reaction to

01:09the trilogy in full, because I have not experienced it that way. So without further ado, this is Awaken Me,

01:17Act One of the Seventh Seed Trilogy.

07:55I've listened to this so many times, but it occurred to me, I don't think I've listened

07:58to it on these headphones before.

08:01And that just added something.

08:03And I just felt like I was in it.

08:06That is just the exact type of song that I'm a sucker for.

08:11Kind of like mythical, mystical, you know, epic.

08:16Like, I don't want to, I don't know.

08:19I don't want to just be like, oh, yeah, I like songs that sound epic.

08:22It's more, there's more to it than that.

08:25But this type of song will just like transport me somewhere else.

08:31So let's move on to the second one in the trilogy.

08:34This is the titular seventh seed.

08:38One day I will grow into a towering tree.

08:41Time will carry my seeds to places farther, higher, and wider.

08:46I believe that every accidental event comes from necessity.

08:49I like that.

08:52I don't remember the song if I have heard it.

08:58Look at that, like a cool wing tattoo.

10:47I feel like I should be paying attention to these lyrics.

10:53But one, they are tiny.

10:55They're so little.

10:57And two, the sounds that are happening right now, it just makes it hard to pay attention to anything else.

11:02But I know the lyrics are awesome, too.

12:39All right, well, no, it's just credits.

12:41Okay, I have a vague feeling like I might have heard this song before.

12:48But if I did, it was like automatically playing on Spotify in the background.

12:55I was doing something.

12:56I did not really register everything that happened in that song because, wow, like what an incredible follow up to Awaken Me.

13:07Just that was that was overwhelming.

13:11That was so good.

13:12I'm just I'm just going to get into the next one.

13:15Okay, so here's act three, the final in the trilogy.

13:19Kill the Fear.

13:20Love is the oldest seed in this world.

13:23The most mysterious number.

13:25The most perfect dance.

13:26And the sharpest weapon.

13:28Perhaps there is a way to kill a soul.

13:30But you cannot kill the will that spreads through love.

13:33I can feel it in my soul.

13:43Not nobody can stop me.

13:45Ooh.

15:49This is absolutely going to get stuck in my head. This one, Kill the Fear, I can say with almost

15:54certainty, I have not heard this one at all in the background or anywhere. I have not heard the

16:00song at all. And it's such an- it's- it's such an incredible finale to this trilogy. I can't deal

16:06with it. I love the environment and the colors in this video.

17:36I think you have to experience all those songs with headphones.

17:48Or really good speakers or whatever. But headphones are probably your best bet to like- or earbuds.

17:54But like something to just pipe the bass into you. You really want to like kind of feel it.

18:02But I mean they're- they're gonna sound good even on like a crappy speaker because they're good songs.

18:10But I'm just- in the first two which I had heard, Awaken Me I had actually heard like the most.

18:16But like with- with these headphones I just kind of like experienced more little bits of the songs that I hadn't really noticed before.

18:24And the whole trilogy together in a row is such an experience.

18:28Everyone who like did all the effects with the video, like the video concept, they just killed it.

18:34The choreography was so good. And I love how- well, so first I said about Awaken Me.

18:40If you hear Awaken Me, you wouldn't really expect Vanita Wong to be like primarily like a hip-hop artist.

18:46But then in the next two songs in the trilogy, like she was rapping in both of them.

18:52Not the whole time. Not for the whole song. That wasn't the whole thing.

18:56But there were significant rap parts. And it all worked really well with the- this overall theme.

19:03This overall sound. Even though there were some like significant differences between the songs.

19:09I feel like that last song just now was the most- I don't know, like had a lot of elements that are more modern sounding usually.

19:18But somehow it just- it still fit in with the overall theme.

19:23I love that. I love when someone can do that.

19:26It's sort of like- it doesn't seem like it would work, but it totally did.

19:30Like I said, this was- I just wanted to react to this because I really like Vanita Wong.

19:35And I had never actually watched all these like trilogy videos.

19:39I don't know if anyone is looking up reactions to her.

19:42But if I- if I'm like one of the first to do one, then I'm happy to be that person.

19:48Because I know I would want to see reactions to her.

19:51I feel like I have looked that up, but- but I- now I don't remember.

19:55But I feel like I did and I didn't find that much, you know, unsurprisingly.

19:59At least in, you know, in English speaking internet, there's not going to be a lot.

20:03So I am happy to be one of those people.

20:05Even if I don't get anybody looking at this, I just wanted to react to this and put this out there.
