00:00Hello, can you tell us who you are and where you're from?
00:03I'm Larry Hominick, nickname Lockport Larry.
00:06My family's famous for golf, I'm more famous for hockey.
00:10And where are you from?
00:11Originally Winnipeg. I live in Calgary, Canada right now.
00:14And how did you get here? What was your flight route?
00:17My flight route was Calgary, Toronto, Toronto, Edinburgh.
00:21Eight hours in Edinburgh, did the stairs of the castle.
00:24I couldn't get in because it was sold out.
00:26And then came here, came to Belfast, and then I don't even know how we drove
00:31because there's a lot of round clothes.
00:34Are you here all week?
00:36No, Friday we're flying to Liverpool because apparently we want to golf.
00:39We can't golf here, too much corporate money.
00:42And we're going to Liverpool to golf for four days in Liverpool,
00:45and we're going to be done by noon every day and watch the open in the public.
00:49And what have you made of the people of Northern Ireland?
00:52I can tell that there's a reason I'm Irish.
00:56It's my ancestry. I'm half Ukrainian, half Irish.
00:59And who do you think will win the Open?
01:01I hope Tommy Fleetwood.
01:03But if it stays like this, I know it's supposed to rain tomorrow,
01:08but I'm not anti-Sheffler.
01:11I'm not anti-Sheffler, but if you want to say if I had to put money on it,
01:18I would love to see Lowry and McElroy and Fleetwood.
01:23If you want to know who's going to win, probably Sheffler.
01:27And why no Canadian? Why not Nick Taylor?
01:30Nick Taylor, I've got a story about Nick Taylor.
01:33What's going on?
01:34My uncle is 90 now, and Nick Taylor won the Canadian Open at Oakdale.
01:40My uncle's a pro there.
01:42My last name is Hominick.
01:44And there's three nines there.
01:47One nine is called a Hominick nine.
01:49Anyways, my uncle said they're finally having the tournament in Canada at my course.
01:54So my uncle, he likes to tell him now the story that he was 88 at the time.
01:59He lifted the curse.
02:00And Nick Taylor made the fight.
02:02I was there.
02:03My uncle had the opening tee shot up for the Canadian Open.
02:05And I was there to watch it.
02:07And he likes to say that if they would have let me hit the opening tee shot out in 1977,
02:11there would have been a Canadian one then.
02:13Maybe not me, but they could have lifted it earlier.
02:16This is a story that's 90 now.
02:17And final question for me, have you tried a Guinness yet?
02:20I've had three Guinness.
02:22I don't like Guinness.
02:23I had three Guinness in Belfast at the Guinness Quarter.
02:26And oh my God, they're good.
