00:00Once upon a time, in a quiet village at the edge of a thick forest, lived a poor but kind
00:06woodcutter. Every day he would walk deep into the forest, carrying his old iron axe. He worked hard
00:14chopping wood to sell in the village market. Though he had very little, he was content with
00:19what he earned through honesty and effort. One bright morning, the woodcutter walked to his
00:25favorite tree near a clear, sparkling river. As he raised his axe to chop, his foot slipped on a
00:32wet stone. With a gasp, he lost his balance, and his axe flew from his hands and into the deep water.
00:39He knelt by the riverbank, peering into the rippling surface, but the axe was gone. The
00:46current had carried it away. Saddened, he sighed. That was all I had. Without it, I cannot work.
00:53Just then, the river began to glow. Bubbles rose to the surface, and from the water emerged a
01:00shining figure, a divine spirit cloaked in light. It was a forest god, the guardian of the river.
01:08I saw what happened, the god said in a calm voice. Why are you so sad? The woodcutter bowed his head
01:16and said humbly, I dropped my only axe into the river. It was old, but it helped me earn my living.
01:23Now I cannot work. The god nodded and disappeared into the river. Moments later, he emerged holding
01:31a beautiful golden axe. Is this your axe? He asked. The woodcutter looked at it, amazed by its beauty,
01:40but shook his head. No, that is not mine, he said quietly. My axe was made of plain iron, not gold.
01:48The god smiled and sank back into the river. This time, he returned with a shining silver axe.
01:56Perhaps this one is yours? The god asked again. The woodcutter admired it for a moment, then shook
02:03his head once more. That is not mine either. Mine was simple iron. The god smiled even more warmly and
02:11disappeared once more. Finally, he came back with a worn iron axe, just as the woodcutter had described.
02:19The woodcutter's face lit up. Yes, that's mine. The god handed him the iron axe and said,
02:27Because you were honest and did not lie to claim what was not yours, I will reward you.
02:34To the woodcutter's amazement, the god gave him all three axes, the gold, the silver, and his original
02:42iron axe. The woodcutter thanked the god with tears in his eyes and promised to always remain
02:48truthful. He returned to the village and used his new riches wisely, helping his neighbors and living
02:55a life of kindness. Word of his honesty spread far and wide. When people asked how he became so
03:02fortunate, he always said with a smile, I just told the truth. Moral of the story is that honesty is the best policy.
