00:00But I started feeling, after 97, I started that feeling of discontent.
00:05I felt like I am not doing good work.
00:09When this story is supposed to be based in Jambu Kashmir or XYZ,
00:13I went to Kamalistan to Kashmir Chaywala,
00:18put a board there and shoot them.
00:21And there was any kind of cheating.
00:23There was a film with Amitabh Bachanji.
00:26And I had a conversation with Dugalji.
00:31I said, uncle, my date is fixed in 99 Feb.
00:37No, I don't want to do it.
00:39After 1991, 1992, then Gentlemen,
00:44and all those films that you did in the south and out here, etc.
00:48When did you meet Anand and why did you quit?
00:51I quit.
00:54You were all good.
00:57Everyone was good.
00:58I meant to be an actor.
01:00Everything was good.
01:01When you thought about that, that was the point.
01:03You know, I am a very feeling-oriented person.
01:08I am not going to think much.
01:11It is my advantageous.
01:13advantageous because I was not intimidated at that time.
01:18You know, Shammi Kapoor was standing in front of me, Chintu was standing in front of me,
01:23Nana Partaker was there in front of me, in so many movies, they are all greats.
01:29And I have seen their work and felt, wow, amazing, but then when they were in front of me,
01:35I felt like I am okay, I can hold my own.
01:40So that person suddenly started feeling, especially in the Hindi industry, even though
01:47I have done a lot of good roles in the South industry, for which I do not know more,
01:53I did not acknowledge that at that time.
01:58If someone would say that you are South, or that South film is a big hit,
02:03because I always thought of myself as a Bollywood actor, Hindi actor.
02:10By default, I had tried in Hindi films, and I had to establish that.
02:16I had never thought about it.
02:18By default, I had told you that I had to keep you busy every day.
02:22So I had never thought about it.
02:23I had never thought about it.
02:24I had never thought about it.
02:25But I wanted to see myself doing better and better and better.
02:29And it happened like that, I had never thought about it.
02:31But I wanted to see myself doing better and better and better.
02:36And it happened like that, I did a son in Kannada called Anaya, which was a super duper hit.
02:51But all those roles, it was happening in the South.
02:55In Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil.
02:58I got those roles and characters there to explore.
03:03In Hindi, I had a lot of films and songs,
03:08by the top actors like Akshay and others.
03:13But I started feeling, after 1997,
03:18I know it's a very short period.
03:21Because I started my career in 1991,
03:23and in 1997,
03:25I started that feeling of discontent.
03:28I felt like I am not doing good work.
03:32And I remember this story distinctly,
03:36when my father was asked to go to Kamalistan,
03:40or to go to Kamalistan,
03:42I felt like, why would I go to Kamalistan?
03:45When this story is supposed to be based in Jambu Kashmir,
03:50or XYZ,
03:51I went to Kamalistan,
03:53and I went to Kashmir Chaiwala,
03:56and put a board,
03:58and shoot them.
04:00And after having worked with authentic directors,
04:04in the South,
04:06Malayalam directors are very authentic and realistic.
04:09Then I came here,
04:11to work with those directors,
04:13and put a board,
04:15and show that we are somewhere else.
04:17And it was cheating.
04:19As an artist,
04:21I felt like a discontent feel.
04:23And I was not able to do that under the carpet,
04:26and I was not able to carry on.
04:29I was like,
04:30let's go,
04:31let's do it.
04:32I was not able to keep that attitude.
04:34I started feeling very irritated.
04:36And slowly,
04:37I felt like I am not happy.
04:39I was sad going to the set.
04:41That I felt like I wanted to go to the set.
04:43I felt like I would go to the set.
04:45I felt like I was not going to the set.
04:46And then I know,
04:47I call you destiny's child.
04:49Because,
04:50that feeling strongly comes in me,
04:51I have experienced it.
04:52It feels like I am not going to the set.
04:54And then,
04:55I know,
04:56I call you destiny's child.
04:59Because,
05:00that feeling strongly comes in me,
05:03I have experienced it.
05:05But,
05:06that feeling is.
05:07when I am using my language,
05:08when I am using my language,
05:09that feeling is like manifestation.
05:13That feeling was not a manifestation.
05:14At that time,
05:15all those words were not told.
05:16Manifestation was not.
05:18But,
05:19when I had any feeling,
05:20when I had desired it,
05:21I felt like that.
05:22That feeling was going to the set.
05:24And,
05:25I started feeling that,
05:26now I am not going to the set.
05:28And,
05:29it so happened,
05:30I fell in love.
05:31and I it so happened I got married and then I just thought that you didn't give it to second thought
05:39that you left my career and see this was a temptation, there was a film with Amitabh Bachchanji
05:47which later a South Indian actress had done that role, Saundaria Ji and somebody had done that role
05:54but that came to me and I remember this conversation with Dugal Ji, I remember that
06:01I was with Amitabh Bachchanji, I said uncle my date was fixed in 99 Feb, no I don't want to do it
06:09think after this film you can do it, I said no uncle
