CORONATION STREET 16TH JULY 2025
Transcript
00:00A ginger cat jumping off an outhouse roof. The green and gold sign of the rover's return in the sunshine with a tram passing along the bridge beyond.
00:11Coronation Street, starring Jack Shepard as David, Jane Hazelgrove as Bernie, Jacob Roberts as Kit and Adam Hussain as Adi.
00:21David walks up the street and sees Sarah coming the other way.
00:25Hi. Are you going to hospital? Yeah, I just had to nip home, get changed, grab a quick shower. Bernie and Gemma stay with Kit, so I'm just heading back now.
00:34Right, how's he doing? He's stable. Yeah, he picked up a bit in the night, so I'm just hoping he's going to be okay.
00:41Yeah, well, I'm glad he's pulled through. Right, are you sure about that?
00:46Right, it's not a secret, he's not my favourite person in the world, but I don't mean I wasn't him, because we're on fire.
00:52Oh, David, that's really touchy, thank you, I'll let him know you said that. Oh, Hope!
00:59Hey, you alright? Me? I'm fine, why? Yeah, well, you know what happened at school?
01:04Oh, that, it wasn't really much of a thing. Sounds like all the juicy stuff off and ground here, though. Typical.
01:11Hope goes.
01:13She's a bit stranger, isn't she? Strange, she's got flippin' slate loose.
01:19How's Lily? She's doing alright, considering. But, she's tough like that, isn't she? She takes after her mum.
01:27True. Right, so I'm going to have to get gone. Yeah. Oh, and I am genuinely pleased that he's doing okay.
01:38Leanne joins Nick and Toya in the bistro.
01:41Hi, erm, just thought I'd pop in and see how Sam was doing. I didn't realise that he'd be here.
01:46Yeah, I've kept him off school for a couple of days, you know, just so I can keep my eye on him.
01:51Yeah, good idea. Has he said anything more about what happened?
01:54No, we've been trying to find out, but he's been pretty quiet. I'm just glad he's alright, you know, all things considered.
01:59Yeah, it could have been a lot worse. That Mick's a right animal. I just hope that they throw away the key this time.
02:05I mean, he killed a policeman. How did he let him walk out of prison and turn up at a school?
02:09Well, I'm sure they won't make that mistake again, especially after what you did to Kit.
02:12Yeah. Listen, erm, I've got the day off. I thought I might do something. Do you think Sam might want to come with me?
02:19Well, you know, that'd be nice, wouldn't you ask him?
02:22Hey, Sam. I'm not working today, so I thought I might go to the cinema, see what's on. Do you fancy coming with me?
02:28Thanks, but I'm just going to get on with my schoolwork for now.
02:32Okay. Well, if you change your mind, you know where I am.
02:35Yeah.
02:37Well, I tried.
02:39Don't take it personally. I think he's just finding his way through things.
02:44Leanne shoots Sam a concerned look. Sarah joins Gemma, Bernie and Kit in hospital.
02:51Hey. Got some teas and a couple of bacon bars. Figured you must be hungry.
02:58Oh, cheers, love.
03:00Could eat a scabby dog.
03:03How's he doing?
03:05Yeah, doctor's coming about an hour ago and checked on him.
03:09He said he's doing as well as can be expected.
03:12What a mess.
03:14Tell me about it.
03:16You know, it's Brodie and the girls I feel sorry for.
03:19I mean, I know I wasn't exactly parent of the year back in the day, but...
03:24Mick and Lou...
03:26They're on another level.
03:29How are they doing?
03:31Joanie and Shanice?
03:33Yeah.
03:34Yeah, they're still with Sally and Tim.
03:37And Brodie?
03:39No-one's seen him since last night.
03:42I don't like the sound of that.
03:44Well, do you want to get home, ask around and see if anyone's heard out?
03:47No, no, no. I should stay here, yeah.
03:49Hey, it's fine. We'll be here and we can call you as soon as he wakes up.
03:53You sure?
03:55Oh, God.
03:58Right.
04:00Debbie and Carl at the hotel.
04:03Yeah, see you later. Bye.
04:06Take it that's your Ronnie?
04:08No, it was Ken Barlow.
04:11Ha ha.
04:12You two seem pretty smitten with each other since you got back together.
04:16Yeah, I know.
04:18We're like the northern version of Burton and Taylor, aren't we?
04:22Burton and Ernie more like.
04:23Hey, you cheeky beggar.
04:25Any news on the house sale?
04:27No, not yet.
04:28But we've put in the full asking price and got a really good vibe about it.
04:32Good.
04:33Maria visits Gary in hospital.
04:36You all right?
04:39She sits at the bedside.
04:41How are you feeling?
04:43Tired.
04:45Bored.
04:46How's everyone at home?
04:48They're all still in shock, I think.
04:52I saw Gemma in the corridor earlier, though.
04:55Looks like Kit's gonna be okay.
04:57Looks good.
04:59Hmm.
05:00I'm just glad that that psycho's off the street again.
05:04And his lying, cheating cow of a wife.
05:07She obviously knew what he was planting, didn't she?
05:10Yeah, she made a mug out of a lot of people.
05:13Me included.
05:14I should never have trusted her.
05:17Guess I'm paying for it now, eh?
05:19Maria looks thoughtful.
05:22But there's more to it than that, though, isn't there?
05:24What do you mean?
05:26Maria checks no-one is listening.
05:31I don't want to do this now.
05:32Not while you're trying to get better, but...
05:37I know you, Gary.
05:39Better than anyone else.
05:41And there is something that you're not telling me.
05:44So if you really love me, like you keep telling me that you do,
05:49you'll tell me the truth.
05:51Bernie and Tim.
05:54So you've still not heard from him, then?
05:56No.
05:57He's not answering his phone.
05:58What about the girls? Has he called them?
06:00I don't know.
06:01We still haven't told him that he's gone missing yet.
06:03I don't think it's quite sunk in, you know,
06:05what's happening with their mum and dad.
06:07And the last thing we need is them panicking about Brodie.
06:10Well, I went round to the house.
06:11I thought he might have crashed there.
06:12You know, I knocked on the door, looked through the window, nothing.
06:15I know you're worried, but is it tough, lad?
06:18Well, that's my point.
06:20He's just a lad and God knows where he spent last night.
06:23Gary and Maria.
06:25She kissed her? When?
06:30It was that night when she came to the floor.
06:35She was upset about her kids and...
06:37I was trying to cheer her up, I guess.
06:40So we had a couple of beers and she made a move.
06:44I asked you if anything happened and you denied it.
06:47Yeah, well, it didn't really. I pulled away.
06:49You know, I told her I was with you and that I didn't see her like that.
06:52But then she said she was going to tell you if I didn't stop...
06:54Oh, do you know, I don't believe this.
06:56So...
06:58She tries it on with you, makes an absolute flaming muppet out of you
07:02and then I ask you about it and you have a massive go at me
07:05and storm off to your mum's.
07:07Look, she got hold of my phone and started texting herself from it
07:09to make it look like we had an affair.
07:12She wanted to get money out of me, but I said no.
07:15Yeah, well... And that's how all this happened.
07:16Whatever she did, it still doesn't change the fact that you lied to my face.
07:21No.
07:23And I'm sorry.
07:25Well, it's a bit late for that.
07:27Babe, please don't do this.
07:29No, do you know what, no. I don't want to listen to you.
07:31I can't even look at you right now.
07:33I'm just going to go.
07:35Don't go.
07:37She marches off.
07:39David steps over to Ardy in the corner shop.
07:43Yo, mini-dev.
07:46Any chance of some service round here before, you know, one of us dies?
07:50Sorry about that.
07:52Anything else?
07:54Mm-hmm?
07:55Is that it or do you want anything else?
07:58Well, no.
07:59Cos if I did, I'd have grabbed it off the shelf and handed you it, wouldn't I?
08:04Right, it's just something you say, isn't it, when you run a business?
08:08I love that and all.
08:10No money messing.
08:12Just them.
08:13Thanks.
08:15David pays.
08:20See you later.
08:21See ya.
08:23Lauren.
08:24Yeah, thanks.
08:25I've just come to get some bits for the flat.
08:29How very domesticated.
08:31How's it all looking?
08:33Is the sofa okay?
08:35Yeah.
08:36Everything's fine and the sofa's great, too.
08:38Well, as far as sofas go.
08:39I mean, don't get me wrong, the place still needs doing up a bit, but...
08:43It's a norm, innit?
08:44Me and Frankie.
08:45It's the main thing.
08:48Actually, I was thinking maybe you could come round later.
08:52Why, do you need help decorating or something?
08:55No, you don't tell.
08:56I thought I could cook.
08:58If you want.
09:00Really?
09:01Yeah.
09:02I just wanted to say sorry.
09:05You know, for the other day.
09:08Okay.
09:09I'd like that.
09:10Tell her.
09:13Great!
09:15Nina and Asha.
09:17I bet it's the weight lifted at least.
09:19You know, knowing it wasn't you or Summer that hurt Gary.
09:23Yeah, I guess.
09:24Although I can't believe we got so wasted that we didn't know for sure or what had even happened to him.
09:29You know, we could have done anything that night.
09:31That's the scary thing.
09:33I never want to feel that out of control again.
09:35I think a few people regretted what happened that night.
09:39Well, anyway, how are things with you and Summer?
09:43Well, she isn't answering my calls.
09:46Oh, I'm sorry.
09:47No, just give her some time.
09:48I'm sure she'll come round.
09:50Yeah, maybe.
09:52Anyway, how's you?
09:54Me?
09:55Me, yeah.
09:56Yeah, I'm alright.
09:57Why?
09:58No, no.
09:59Just wondering.
10:00You just don't see my usual self.
10:01That's all.
10:02Nah.
10:03Just work.
10:04No, it's a bit full on.
10:05That's all.
10:06Sit down.
10:09Oh, hey.
10:10You folks keep you off school as well, did they?
10:13Yeah.
10:14They reckon what happened could have been a traumatising for me.
10:17Right.
10:18And was it?
10:19Was it, heck.
10:20But I'm not going to argue.
10:21Having a full day off with boring lessons.
10:22I'm not a swat, am I?
10:23Which reminds me.
10:24Sam okay?
10:25Yeah.
10:26Yeah, I think he's fine.
10:27I mean, he's been a bit quiet, but...
10:28I'm not surprised.
10:29He's got more reason to be freaked out than I do.
10:32Why's that?
10:33Didn't he tell you what Lily did?
10:35Uh, no.
10:37When the bloke who killed Craig turned up at school for shouting and all that, Lily ran
10:40and hid in the classroom.
10:41Sam tried to go in after her, but she wouldn't let him in.
10:44What?
10:45She left him outside?
10:46Yeah.
10:47Sam was bricking it from what I heard.
10:50Nick looks unpleasantly surprised.
10:52In hospital, Sarah has fallen asleep at Kit's bedside when he starts to come round.
10:59Hey.
11:01Hey.
11:02Hello.
11:03You awake?
11:04How you doing?
11:06I can't feel my fingers.
11:08What, are you serious?
11:09Why?
11:10What's the matter?
11:11No, fine.
11:12I'm just squeezing him really tight.
11:15Sorry.
11:16What time is it?
11:21It's half one.
11:25Been asleep for hours.
11:27We were really worried about you.
11:29You were in a very bad way.
11:33I thought you were gonna, you know.
11:36Hey.
11:38I'm all right.
11:42My leg's been better.
11:44It'll take more than a head case with a letter opener to finish me off.
11:49Besides, it's just a scratch.
11:52Yeah.
11:53Right, well, something that's just a scratch.
11:55There was an awful lot of blood in the back of the ambulance.
11:58Well, that's everybody else.
12:01Yeah, I'm good.
12:03Especially Sally, yes.
12:05She's, erm, acting like she's the hero.
12:09She's telling everybody that she taught Mick down.
12:13She's probably at home now, trying on outfits,
12:15practising a speech for the Pride of Britain Awards.
12:19Kit coughs up a gout of blood.
12:22Are you all right?
12:24Thank goodness.
12:26Sarah rushes off to get someone,
12:29and as Kit struggles to breathe,
12:31his vital signs monitor sounds a warning.
12:35Coronation Street.
12:44Coronation Street.
12:45Bernie is doing the washing up at the Allerhans.
12:51Bernie takes her rubber gloves off.
12:53All right!
12:54All right!
12:56Mum!
12:57All right, you can have the door off, it's hinges!
12:58Come on, open up!
13:01Mum!
13:02Hey, hey, hey, what's going on?
13:03Where's your phone?
13:04Well, it's OK.
13:05It's charging, why?
13:06Well, Sarah's been trying to get a hold of y'all.
13:08Well, I've been all over the shop trying to find Brody.
13:10He wasn't on me.
13:11Is Kit OK?
13:13No.
13:14He woke up, right, Sarah were with him and he seemed fine at first,
13:17but then he started coughing up all this blood
13:19and the doctor said he's got to his chest or something
13:21not draining properly.
13:22Well, what are they going to do about it?
13:23Well, you've took him to theatre, that's all she said.
13:26OK.
13:27Right, where are my keys?
13:29Where are my flaming keys?
13:30Oh, Mum, the beer!
13:32OK.
13:33Right, let's go, chicken.
13:34Let's go.
13:35In the bistro, Nick and Toya look over at Sam.
13:39Right, so this violent criminal's walking round the corridors
13:42and when Lily sees him, she locks herself in the classroom
13:45and when Sam tries to hide in there too, she won't let him in.
13:48Look, I get that you're upset, but you sure that's actually what happened?
13:51Well, why would she lie?
13:53I don't mean to sound judgmental, but this is hope we're talking about.
13:56Right, but I don't think she's making it up.
13:58OK, OK.
13:59Well, if it is true, how come Sam hasn't mentioned anything about it?
14:02I don't know.
14:03He hasn't said much of anything, has he, recently?
14:05Maybe he's trying to protect her?
14:07Why don't you ask him now?
14:08No.
14:09No, I don't want to put him on the spot, talk to David,
14:11see if Lily's mentioned anything.
14:13Well, just go easy, yeah.
14:14She is his daughter.
14:15Yeah, and he's my son and I need to know what's going on.
14:18Maria's on the phone.
14:21Yep.
14:22OK, you're all booked in next Tuesday at 2.30.
14:25All right, see you.
14:29Hey, just take a seat.
14:30I'll...
14:31Gary.
14:32What are you doing here?
14:33You should be in hospital.
14:34I discharged myself.
14:36Why?
14:37The food was awful.
14:39Because we need to talk.
14:41Gary, look at you, you're ill.
14:43It's nice to see you as well.
14:44I mean it.
14:45Oh yes, I thought I heard your voice.
14:47I mean, I know they're generally short of beds and that,
14:49but I thought they might make an exception for someone
14:51who's just got out of a coma.
14:53David, are you all right on your own for a bit?
14:54I need to get him home.
14:56Yeah.
14:57I mean, unless we have a rush on Biddy's wanting the roots done,
15:00but I'm sure it'll be fine.
15:02Thanks.
15:03Right, come on, let's get you back to the flat.
15:04Thanks.
15:05Yeah.
15:06At the Allerhans,
15:08Ardy is looking at something on the laptop
15:10when Asher joins him.
15:12Have you heard anything from Bernie?
15:15About Kit?
15:17Er, no.
15:18No, last I heard from her he was still asleep.
15:21Oh, probably a good thing.
15:23What are you doing?
15:24Oh, no, not much.
15:26Just going for accounts.
15:28OK, I can feel that you're a bit stressed.
15:31Do you want me to get your abacus for you?
15:33No.
15:34But you can make yourself useful and answer that.
15:36What's the magic word?
15:38No.
15:39Oh, hiya.
15:43Someone for you.
15:45Lauren comes in with Frankie.
15:48I'll leave you to it.
15:51Asher closes the door and heads up to her room.
15:55Hiya.
15:56Er, what are you doing here?
15:58I thought I was coming over to yours.
16:00Everything OK?
16:01No.
16:02No, it's not.
16:03Er, a cooker's broke.
16:05So, I'm going to have to cook for us, eh?
16:08Is that all right?
16:09Yeah.
16:10Sure.
16:11OK.
16:12Well, let me give you a hand.
16:14Oh.
16:15Cheers.
16:17You're showing what we're right about you.
16:19Why, what's she say?
16:21That you're one of the good ones.
16:23Ardie smiles, but looks worried as he steps away.
16:27At the hotel, Ronnie sees Debbie yawning.
16:30Hey.
16:31Are you all right, dear, love?
16:34You look ready to nod off there.
16:36Oh, I'm just tired, that's all.
16:38Don't look so worried.
16:41I used to get like this before I got that.
16:44Oh, I'm vibrating.
16:46It's the station's.
16:49Hello?
16:50Yes, speaking.
16:52Yes, speaking.
16:54Mm-hmm.
16:55Number six, Coronation Street.
16:57Yeah?
16:58Her smile slips.
17:00Come again?
17:02They've accepted another offer.
17:04Backstabbing cow.
17:06No, I wasn't talking to you.
17:08Well, yes, I am disappointed.
17:10How can you tell?
17:11Ugh, idiot.
17:13I'm sorry, sweetheart.
17:14Oh, me too.
17:16No, actually, you know what I am?
17:19Fuming.
17:20We've been gazumped.
17:21You know who it was, don't you?
17:23Who?
17:24Carla.
17:25David's at the salon.
17:27There's your coat, Mrs. Overman.
17:30And mind how you go.
17:33She goes as Nick comes in.
17:35Did you say that?
17:37See what?
17:38Ugh.
17:39Undressing me with her eyes.
17:41She's always doing it dirty, Carol.
17:43I always feel violated.
17:45Not in a good way.
17:46Right, yeah, very funny.
17:48You all right?
17:49No.
17:50I need to talk to you about what happened to Lily at the school yesterday.
17:53What about it?
17:54Well, apparently that Mick turned up and she locked herself in the classroom.
17:57Yeah, yeah, she told me.
17:58Right, did she also tell you that Sam tried to hide in there as well and she wouldn't open the door to him?
18:03What?
18:04Are you sure?
18:05Yeah, that's what I heard.
18:06I mean, she must have known she was putting him in danger.
18:10I don't know.
18:11I haven't got a scoop.
18:12I mean, maybe she didn't know he was out there or, and just sort of ran and panicked.
18:18I mean, it must have been pretty scary for her.
18:20Yeah, well, what about Sam?
18:22Well, what I mean is I don't think she'd have done it deliberately.
18:24I mean, they've always gotten on, haven't they?
18:26Yeah, if that's what I thought.
18:27Just have a word with her.
18:28Find out what she was thinking, all right?
18:30Yeah, all right.
18:31I'll speak to her when she gets home.
18:32All right, good.
18:33Cos if you don't, I will.
18:35Nick goes, leaving David looking unsettled.
18:38Gary and Maria at their flat.
18:40How many times do you want me to say it?
18:43She gazes off.
18:45Look, I should have told you what was going on, okay?
18:48But I thought I could handle it myself.
18:50How? By letting her blackmail you?
18:52She didn't blackmail me. I told her where to stick it.
18:55Why do you think I ended up in a flaming coma?
18:57Well, it still doesn't change the fact that you lied to me.
19:00And if you'd have just been honest with me in the first place, none of this would have happened.
19:04Well, I know that now, don't I?
19:06And I've been piecing things together since I woke up.
19:10And the night I got attacked, I was going to tell you.
19:13I was coming to do it when she hit me.
19:15So I'm sorry, okay?
19:17For everything.
19:19I believe you. I do.
19:21I just don't know if that's enough right now.
19:25Look, this isn't something that I'm just going to be able to forget about, Gary.
19:29What, and you think I can?
19:30I'm the one that got attacked. I almost died.
19:33Yeah, because you didn't listen to me when I warned you about her.
19:35Oh, okay. Okay.
19:37So it's my own fault, is it?
19:39Is that what you're saying?
19:41At the Metcalfs?
19:43Got a drink? Something to eat?
19:45Just banged a load of food in the microwave.
19:48I'm all right, Ty. I'm just here to see the girls.
19:51Oh, they're not here.
19:53Sally's taken them into town to take their mind off things.
19:55Bernie's been looking for you. She's worried about you.
19:58We all are.
20:00Don't be. I'm all right.
20:02Right.
20:03So your parents are banged up.
20:05Your dad's been done for murdering Craig.
20:07Just stabbed another copper and you reckon you're okay?
20:10Yeah, well, there's not really much I can do about that, is there?
20:13I'm just here to look after the girls.
20:15And what about you?
20:16Who's looking after you?
20:18I don't need anyone to do that.
20:20I just need to get enough money so I can get a place for me, Joni and Shanice.
20:25Mate.
20:27How are you going to manage that, then?
20:29I'll find a way.
20:31Hmm.
20:33Well, you can't do a worse job than your folks, I suppose, can you?
20:36Sorry. Sorry, that was a bit uncalled for.
20:41Why do you say and have some food? The girls will be back soon.
20:43They'll be glad to see you. What do you reckon?
20:46Okay.
20:47Good.
20:48Tim pats Brody on the arm and then goes into the kitchen.
20:53Brody gets a text from Unknown.
20:56I'll call you in a bit and then we can talk.
20:59Brody glances over his shoulder at Tim, then hurries out.
21:03Hearing him go, Tim turns around and looks troubled.
21:07Sarah joins Bernie and Gemma in a corridor at the hospital.
21:11Hey.
21:12Did you speak to someone?
21:14Yeah.
21:15He's still in theatre and they're going to let us know when they hear anything.
21:18I should have been here. I should have stayed with him.
21:20Oh, Mum, it's not your fault.
21:22He's young. He's fit as an arse. He'll get through it.
21:25Yeah, so is our Paul.
21:27That was different. We all knew that was incurable from the after.
21:32Was that what anyone could do about that?
21:33Yeah, I know that, but bad things happen all the time, don't they?
21:36I mean, you know, look around you.
21:38I know you're worried.
21:39No, I'm not worried, love. I'm terrified.
21:42You know, I've already lost one son.
21:46She looks off fretfully.
21:48Coronation Street.
21:55At the hospital, Bernie, Gemma and Sarah are sitting on chairs in a corridor.
22:02They all look anxious.
22:06Lily joins David and Asher in the salon.
22:10Who's at home?
22:12Er, that's £28, please, Asher.
22:15No-one. Granny Audrey's out with Claudia.
22:17I'm old enough to be at home alone, though.
22:19No, you're not.
22:20I'm nearly twelve.
22:21Well, let's have this conversation when you are twelve. How about that?
22:24Cheers.
22:25Thanks. See ya.
22:26See ya.
22:27Oh, Asher.
22:28How old were you, actually, when Dev used to leave you home alone?
22:31Er, I was never on my own. I was with Heidi, but...
22:33I don't know. Fourteen.
22:35But you know what he's like.
22:36Yeah.
22:37Oh, sorry.
22:39Fourteen.
22:41Hang on a minute. Hang on.
22:43Give me that. Just give me that. Thank you.
22:46Dad.
22:47I just want to talk to you for a sec, that's all.
22:49Erm, how was school today, after the whole...?
22:53A scary murdery thing. Normal. Boring. Now, give us that.
22:57No, just hang on a minute. You must have been scared, though.
23:00A bit, yeah, now. Can I have that, please?
23:02No.
23:03Nick said something about you not opening a door for Sam.
23:07Oh, my days. There was loads of places for him to go.
23:10Right, so you didn't shut him out on purpose, then?
23:13Is that what he said?
23:14No, no, I don't think so.
23:16Why would I do that?
23:17Like you say, it was pretty scary, so I just ran and hid.
23:21Right.
23:23Right, OK.
23:24I'm sorry I didn't try and stop the escape killer.
23:28No. No-one's saying that.
23:30I get it. You were scared.
23:32Erm, yeah.
23:33Would you want to talk about it?
23:35No.
23:36Do you want to talk to somebody else about it?
23:37No.
23:38Hiya, can you just give me that, please?
23:40Oh, yeah.
23:41Thanks.
23:42Everything all right?
23:43Yeah, fine.
23:44How's Sam doing?
23:45Oh, well, he's a bit shaken up after yesterday, but that's understandable, innit?
23:49How are you doing, Lilz?
23:50She can't hear you.
23:51She's got things in her head.
23:52But, yeah, she's fine.
23:56Dad?
23:57Yeah.
23:58Oh, my God, I'm so sorry it went wrong, but Tim said Johnny had to go to school and then
24:03they called Sally to pick her up and I didn't really know what to say.
24:06Erm, but don't worry, cos I've got a plan.
24:09Erm, I'm going to get the girls and we're going to move really close to you.
24:13Yeah, and we'll visit you all the time.
24:15Mum.
24:16Mum too.
24:17Erm, I know it's not great now, but, er, well, you'll be all right.
24:22Yeah?
24:25Dad?
24:26I'll be honest.
24:27Cos I'll be honest, lad, all I hear is a lot of whining.
24:31You seriously think I want to see you again after this?
24:34No.
24:35Oh, don't you dad me.
24:37Don't you dare call me that ever again.
24:40Ever.
24:41Again.
24:42Do you hear me?
24:44I'm not your dad.
24:47And I know I was.
24:49I think I want to see you.
24:55Have you come visit me?
24:58I don't make me laugh.
25:00You.
25:01Or the girls.
25:04Or your mum.
25:06Any of you.
25:07Not especially you, Brodie.
25:10Cos the others.
25:12Not at least their family.
25:13Not at least their family.
25:15But you.
25:16You're nothing to me.
25:19The one good thing to come from this.
25:23Is not having you as a son anymore.
25:26You're his.
25:29And that disgusts me.
25:32You disgust me.
25:34And I.
25:35Distressed, Brodie hangs up on Mick.
25:39Mick lowers the phone with a bleak expression and ends the call.
25:43Hearing someone coming, he quickly hides the phone under his mattress and holds his head in his hands.
25:53Devastated, Brodie walks away down a ginnel.
25:57Ryan joins Debbie in the Chariot Square Hotel.
26:01That's not the paperwork for number six, is it?
26:04No, Ryan.
26:05It's not the paperwork for number six.
26:07This is the paperwork for the new Soviet supplier.
26:10Do you want me to tell you why it's not the paperwork for number six?
26:14I'm not sure I don't, I don't know.
26:15Well, I will tell you.
26:17I've been gazumped.
26:18Oh, yes.
26:20Ga-zumped.
26:21Oh, right.
26:23I love that word.
26:24I know it's one of my favourites.
26:26That and tufa.
26:29Bamboozled.
26:30That's a good one.
26:31Yeah.
26:32Serendipity.
26:34But it turns out gazumped is only fun when it happens to other folk.
26:39Go on, then.
26:40So, who's gazumped you?
26:42Your auntie.
26:43My, er, Carla.
26:45Oh, yes.
26:46Carla.
26:47Yeah, well, Carla's got fun.
26:49She was sharking around David's house a couple of months ago.
26:52Oh, yeah.
26:53That's about right, isn't it?
26:54Sharking.
26:55No, it is actually, yeah.
26:57Carla's always been a bit like a great white when it comes to business stuff.
27:00You know, scent in the blood of a juicy deal and springing on it.
27:04Dark eye without mercy.
27:05Sorry.
27:06Hang on a minute.
27:09That's me, that is.
27:10I do that.
27:11Yeah, when it comes to business, yeah?
27:13I spring without mercy.
27:15No, I, no, I know.
27:18I'm the shark.
27:20You're the shark.
27:21I'm not the gazumped.
27:22I am the shark.
27:24Shark.
27:27Shark.
27:28Yeah.
27:29In hospital.
27:30Hey.
27:34Kit.
27:37Come on.
27:38I need you to wake up now, please.
27:41Sarah rubs his shoulder, but he's unresponsive.
27:45I need you to be okay.
27:46She looks anxiously at him.
27:49Oh, it's so annoying feeling like this again for someone.
27:57Especially somebody like, well, you.
28:03Falling for someone like you.
28:06She hears Gemma and Bernie approaching.
28:10I hate this.
28:11I hate waiting around and I hate flipping hospitals.
28:16Is he awake yet?
28:17No, not yet.
28:18What's he said?
28:19Yeah.
28:20He said it went well.
28:22At Victoria Court, Liam notices there's an atmosphere between Maria and Gary at the dinner table.
28:30We can carry on with that series now you're back.
28:34Yeah, if you want, mate.
28:36Liam turns to Maria.
28:38He's only been home five minutes.
28:41What?
28:43You already had a fight.
28:45No, we haven't.
28:47Right, yeah, of course.
28:49I don't mind.
28:51Gary looks at Maria and shrugs.
28:54All right, look.
28:56What's happened's been hard for us.
28:58Okay.
28:59But we're working through it.
29:01No, I get it.
29:02I mean, it must have been tough getting beaten up by a woman.
29:05Liam, one, that is sexist.
29:06No, no, don't worry.
29:07Don't worry.
29:08He's trying to be funny.
29:10In the salon, David's done Leanne's hair.
29:13It's a kind of phrase.
29:15Ta-da.
29:16Aw, thanks, David.
29:17It's lovely, that.
29:18Yeah, I surprise myself sometimes.
29:21Nick.
29:22Hi.
29:23Hey.
29:25Hey, Lilz.
29:26She can't hear you.
29:27Right, look.
29:28Sam and Toria just brought up.
29:29Have you had a word with the end?
29:31Yeah, and it's exactly like I thought.
29:33She was just scared and hiding.
29:35What's this?
29:37Nick thinks Lily should have gone full Rambo and tried taking Mick on her own.
29:41I didn't say that.
29:43Hope said Lily saw him outside in the corridor with Mick and refused to let him in.
29:48You what?
29:49I don't know about refuse.
29:52Hi.
29:53Let's talk about it later, shall we?
29:54No, hang on a minute.
29:55Sam.
29:56Lily locked you out with Mick there.
29:58Leanne.
30:00How do you know?
30:02What have you told everybody?
30:03No, Hope mentioned something or I asked David to have a word with her.
30:07Erm, what's going on?
30:08Nothing.
30:09Well, it's nothing.
30:10Can we just...
30:11No.
30:12Go home, please?
30:13OK.
30:14Yeah.
30:15Yeah, OK.
30:17Hair looks nice.
30:18Sir.
30:20Nick, Toria and Sam go.
30:23So what's going on?
30:25It's nothing.
30:26It's nothing.
30:27It's just him acting like a pillock.
30:30She locked the door?
30:33No.
30:34Apparently Sam might have thought that's what she was doing, but...
30:37I don't know.
30:38It's just him acting like...
30:39Yeah, yeah, it's a pillock.
30:40I know that.
30:41But David, if she did lock that door, don't you think that's a bit weird?
30:44Just don't, all right?
30:45I mean, listen, just call it 30 quid, all right?
30:48And that's with family rates, even though you're not that any more.
30:52In hospital.
30:53Right, come on slowly.
30:54I'm fine.
30:56Well, you said that before and then you started coughing blood.
30:59She has got a pint, you know.
31:01I just need some time to rest now, yeah?
31:04So, er, yous lot can call off the vigil and go home.
31:08I think he's trying to get rid of us.
31:10I am a bit, yeah.
31:12Are you sure?
31:13Sorry, but I'm not going anywhere.
31:15Not till kicking out time.
31:17Right.
31:18I'm going to be back tomorrow, OK?
31:19Just try and message me.
31:21Sarah goes.
31:24No more being the hero for a bit, yeah?
31:26Sounds a plan.
31:28See ya.
31:30Gemma goes too, leaving Kit alone with Bernie.
31:33Seriously.
31:34Don't waste your breath, love.
31:39You know, like I said to them.
31:42When it's your kid, you can't just go home and forget about it.
31:44All right.
31:46All right.
31:48Oh, you'll get it.
31:50Eventually.
31:52You know, give it time with Brody.
31:55Cos when it's your kid, you...
31:59What?
32:02You need to stop referring to him as my kid.
32:06But you're his dad.
32:07No, I'm not.
32:09His dad tried to kill me.
32:11He just didn't miss by much.
32:13Mick was never his dad.
32:14Right.
32:15Well, never am I.
32:17And the sooner he realises that, the better.
32:20Don't worry.
32:23I got it.
32:25Brody's overheard him.
32:26Coronation Street.
32:28Bernie, Kit and Brody at the hospital.
32:32He didn't mean that, love.
32:34He's only just come round.
32:35No, no, it's good.
32:36Better I know now, yeah?
32:38Sorry.
32:40Look, just wait a minute, Brody.
32:41Is that all you can say, sorry?
32:42I'm telling you, you are making a big mistake.
32:44Bernie goes after Brody and Kit looks pensive.
32:47Ardy and Lauren at the Allerhans.
32:49Still asleep?
32:50Yeah.
32:51Like a cute little ball of adorableness.
32:52No.
32:53It's not aww.
32:54I mean, I will have to wake him up in a bit, because he won't sleep tonight otherwise.
32:57Oh, I'm a bit like that when I end up in the afternoon, too.
33:01What?
33:02What?
33:03What?
33:04What?
33:05What?
33:06What?
33:07What?
33:08What?
33:09What?
33:10What?
33:11What?
33:12What?
33:13What?
33:14What?
33:15What?
33:16What?
33:17What?
33:18What?
33:19Don't be wrong with the powder.
33:20No, it's just...
33:21I don't know.
33:22You could be really cute when you want to be.
33:23I like Frankie cute.
33:24I like Chalamet cute.
33:25I don't know.
33:26It could go either way.
33:27I mean...
33:28Asher and Nina come in.
33:29Hiya.
33:30Hi.
33:31End of night time.
33:32I'm sorry.
33:33It's okay.
33:34I was just going anyway.
33:35I needed to wake him up, so...
33:36Hiya.
33:37She's used to entering places with the siren blowing.
33:38Hiya.
33:39Hiya.
33:40Hiya.
33:41End of night time.
33:42I'm sorry.
33:43It's okay.
33:44I was just going anyway.
33:45I needed to wake him up, so...
33:46Hiya.
33:47Hiya.
33:48Hiya.
33:49I'll let you out.
33:50Yeah, cheers.
33:51See you in a bit.
33:52See ya.
33:53See ya.
33:54Asher stares at Hardy outside the hospital.
33:57Brody.
33:59Brody, don't make me run, kidder.
34:02I've got copper's heel stomach chronic.
34:04I wonder if it's hereditary, you know, policeman's heel.
34:08Maybe that's where our kit gets it from.
34:11Look, he didn't mean any of that.
34:14He's just woke up.
34:15His head's all over the place.
34:16It's fine.
34:17I get it.
34:18Dad, erm...
34:20Mickey rang us from prison and said he didn't want anything to do with us.
34:24That I discussed him.
34:27He said that?
34:28It's fine.
34:29I don't care.
34:30I don't care about him either.
34:32I don't really know why I came.
34:33Cos you do care.
34:34And we care about you.
34:36You know, Tim and Sally and all.
34:39And you know you can stay with them and your sisters for as long as you like.
34:43I don't know.
34:44Maybe them just...
34:46Erm, I just...
34:48Listen.
34:50We're not trying to replace anyone, okay?
34:52But you don't have to do this on your own.
34:54And like I said, our kit'll come round.
34:57I don't need him to.
34:59I don't need any of you.
35:00I'm better on my own.
35:01Oh, trust me from someone who's tried that, you're not.
35:04You don't know anything about me.
35:06Just leave me alone.
35:08Hey, come here.
35:09Come here.
35:10Come here.
35:11Come here.
35:13I know, love.
35:15Bernie draws him into a hug.
35:17At the Bistro, Sam is absorbed in his phone.
35:20Toya looks over at him, then joins Nick.
35:23Are you okay?
35:24Yeah.
35:25He's back on Brawl Stars.
35:27Have you been playing with Lily?
35:29I don't know.
35:30I didn't ask.
35:31You can't really think that she's shot him out on purpose.
35:34And that's what hope's on.
35:36I don't know, maybe it's a joke that went wrong.
35:39I kind of think David would have pulled at her age.
35:42Actually, er, David burnt down the garden at her age.
35:46Wow, yeah, I remember that.
35:48I mean, how do we even set fire to a garden?
35:50I don't know.
35:51We found a way, didn't we?
35:53But Lily's not like that, is she?
35:54Well, good to know.
35:55Now she's come of age, maybe she's a mini David.
35:59Perish the thought.
36:01Sorry he had to face that.
36:04After everything he went through with Natasha.
36:07Yeah, I know.
36:08He must have been terrified.
36:10But, you know, falling out with Lily isn't going to help things, is it?
36:13No.
36:15They look over at Sam.
36:18Seems okay now, though.
36:20Yeah.
36:21Just mildly addicted to that phone.
36:23Yeah.
36:25Sam is reading a news article.
36:27Cop killer escapes jail and breaks into local school.
36:31Nina and Asha are at the Allerhans.
36:33Right.
36:34Better get going.
36:35Said I'd go on a backwatch with Roy, but, erm...
36:37Yeah.
36:38Thanks for letting me rattle on to you.
36:39Any time.
36:40See ya.
36:41See ya.
36:42Bye.
36:45Nina goes and Ardy perches on the arm of the sofa beside Asha.
36:50So, er, you two getting back together then, or what?
36:53Don't be so stupid, Ardy.
36:55Alright.
36:56Are you getting together with the girl that you spiked?
36:58No.
36:59Of course not.
37:00Oh, really?
37:02Didn't look like that.
37:03And I've seen that look before.
37:05Okay, with Summer, Kelly, Courtney, Amy...
37:10Hey, Amy has made it pretty clear that nothing is happening between us, okay?
37:13And neither is that with Lauren.
37:15We're just mates.
37:16And she...
37:17She knows that.
37:18Does she?
37:19Er, I don't think it's any of your business.
37:21Er, I think it will be my business when Lauren finds out what you did and you end up dead in a river like Joel.
37:27Whoa!
37:28You can't say that.
37:29That's, like, way harsh.
37:30Yeah, maybe.
37:31But if you don't have the guts to tell Lauren what you did, then you need to keep well away.
37:36Oh.
37:37How about this for a plan?
37:38You just butt out my life, okay?
37:39Because I've got way bigger fish to fry right now, okay?
37:41Oh, yeah, like what?
37:42Oh.
37:43Unless you meant literally because you've got a shift at the chippy.
37:46Shut your face, Asha.
37:49At Victoria Court, Liam and Maria are clearing up after dinner.
37:55Thanks, love.
37:57Gary sits on the sofa and Maria joins him.
38:02Hey.
38:05You do know that was just his attempt at banter before, don't you?
38:08What?
38:10Liam.
38:11What he said.
38:12Because no one's going to think any less of you for taking a bit of time to recuperate.
38:15You nearly died.
38:16Yeah, I know.
38:18Couldn't care less what anyone thinks.
38:20Yeah, good.
38:23Anyway, he's right.
38:26You know, I guess it is sort of funny, eh?
38:29You know, after everything that happened, we rake.
38:34But it was a random bunny boiler that nearly finished me off.
38:39Sorry, no, I'm trying to be funny when it's not.
38:43Well, I must admit, I thought that we were past all that kind of stuff now.
38:49Well, yeah, but...
38:51What?
38:53Nothing.
38:55No, go on.
38:56She looks attentively at him.
38:59Well, there was nothing I could do, yeah?
39:02I mean, she had a weapon.
39:03She came at me from behind.
39:05Yeah.
39:06Of course, she attacked you.
39:07Yeah.
39:09Yeah.
39:10Yeah.
39:11Yeah.
39:12I don't know, I just, like, I just find this hard, you know?
39:17And I know, I know it's not my fault, and I know it's probably just pride talking, but...
39:22It's got me thinking a bit, and...
39:24You know, these last few years, I'll...
39:27I've let people walk all over me a bit.
39:30What are you talking about? People don't walk all over you.
39:32Yeah, forget it.
39:35Gary!
39:37Honestly, we can forget it.
39:41I'm gonna get another night.
39:43Quake.
39:46You okay?
39:47Yeah.
39:48You sure?
39:49Yeah.
39:50Carl and Debbie are in the Rovers.
39:54So, go on.
39:55Why are you like this?
39:57Like what?
39:58Pussy.
39:59You need the toilet or something?
40:00No, I do not need the toilet.
40:02I'll tell you in a minute, when Ronnie gets here.
40:04Oh.
40:05Cheers.
40:06Ronnie arrives.
40:08Please, just tell me that you are joking.
40:12Well, nice to see you too, Ron.
40:13Hey, that's 30,000 over the asking price.
40:17Well, tell the world why don't you?
40:18Wait, what? What's 30,000 over the asking price?
40:20Number six.
40:21I gesund, Carla.
40:23Yeah, by paying well over the odds.
40:26I told you.
40:27Didn't I say to you, eh?
40:28I want that house.
40:30Yeah, but wanting it and affording it are two different things.
40:34Well, can you afford it?
40:36Yes.
40:38You thought this through, did you?
40:39Did all the slumps.
40:41Yes, I did all the...
40:43Oh, I see.
40:44You think just...
40:48You just think.
40:53You think this is dementia.
40:55Oh, come on now, I didn't say that.
40:57Is that how it's going to be from now on, eh?
40:59Every time I do something, every time I trip over me words?
41:02Look, buying a house and tripping over your words isn't the same thing.
41:06Yes, it is actually.
41:07It is.
41:08Because if I'd have done this a few months ago, none of you would have batted an eyelid.
41:15She gulps down an entire glass of white wine.
41:20Look at that, eh?
41:21I can still drink.
41:22Debs, wake up.
41:25Debs, where are you going?
41:27She marches off.
41:29Bernie and Brodie are back in the hospital.
41:31They go into Kit's room.
41:34You still here?
41:35I told you, you don't get rid of me that easy.
41:38Brodie's here as well.
41:39What do you mean, Brodie's?
41:41Aye.
41:43I'm only here because she told me to.
41:44Yeah, well, I just thought that we could all, you know, have a chat.
41:47No.
41:48No, we don't need to chat.
41:50I'm sorry, Brodie, but I can't deal with this right now.
41:53Yeah, that's fine. Forget it.
41:54No, Brodie.
41:55Forget it.
41:57Brodie walks away and Bernie glares at Kit.
42:01What are you playing at?
42:04She sits down.
42:06I just thought...
42:07No, you didn't think.
42:09Have you been listening to anything I've been telling you?
42:12Right, I know you're upset.
42:14Upset?
42:16How exactly did you think that was going to turn out?
42:19Your dad stabbed me along, but it's okay, son.
42:22I'm your new dad now.
42:23I'm telling you, if you push him away, you will regret it.
42:26What, because you regretted it?
42:27I know what it feels like, yeah.
42:29But I'm not you, am I?
42:31So stop making this about you.
42:33I'm not making it about me.
42:34You are.
42:36I wouldn't have even got a DNA test if you didn't insist.
42:39Well, you should be thanking me then, not having a go at me.
42:42Cos he's your son.
42:44But this isn't about me being a dad anymore, is it?
42:47Of course it is.
42:48No, it's not.
42:50It's about you and your guilt and what you want.
42:54No, it isn't.
42:55It is.
42:57You said it before.
42:59And it's your kid.
43:01Exactly.
43:02So I don't want you going through what I went through.
43:04It's not Paul, Bernie.
43:08You what?
43:09I know how much you agree with him, okay?
43:15It's not fair to line the Broadduper as a replacement.
43:19She stares at him, then looks away with a troubled expression.
43:26Bernie gets to her feet and goes.
43:29Kit gazes after her.
43:30What'd you say after?
43:31She stares at him so she can't get out of the distance with a rude accent.
43:46She stares at him.
43:48She stares at him.
