The Malay Rulers and Yang di-Pertua Negeri convened at Istana Negara on Wednesday (July 16) for the 269th Conference of Rulers to deliberate on key matters concerning the judiciary, including its leadership and independence.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirmed meeting with the Rulers a day earlier and said the conference is expected to announce the appointment of a new Chief Justice.
