00:59about being Canadian I think of community curiosity we can be strong we can be kind we could be caring

01:18this is Edmonton the capital of Alberta and right now 11 teams of two are making their way to the

01:30starting line Evie and Blake brothers from Toronto oh yeah I'm a model that's my job I've shot for some

01:39of the biggest brands in the world I manage a bar in downtown Toronto I love it we naturally excel

01:46at so many things whether it's sports cultural knowledge and awareness socialization life I think

01:57we have any weaknesses you know what I think we don't have any weaknesses man I think we're the

02:02the greatest of all time that could be our biggest weakness Michelle and Aditi cousins from Toronto not

02:13only are we cousins we are best friends we went to school together we travel the world together she's

02:19literally my other half a little cousin chaos that's how we roll we're Christian God fearing woman yes we

02:27are we love Jesus but we're here to win if we gotta stomp over another team we gotta lie we gotta

02:33sabotage we gotta hide some mats you know what I mean along the race Lord forgive us Rebecca and

02:40Rebecca friends from Meadow Lake Saskatchewan and Wrigley Northwest Territories we met at an

02:47indigenous fashion show they called our names they're like Rebecca and we stood up at the same time and

02:52then we looked at each other and then that was honestly the rest is history yeah I was diagnosed

02:59with breast cancer when I was 29 years old I'm going into my almost fifth year of remission I hope to

03:06inspire people that you know you can you can go through this like it's gonna suck so much but you

03:10can get to the other side and you have that strength you are resilient I'm always inspired by her

03:15so the first time I met Jesse he was emceeing an event in drag and I was like who is this person

03:32and then I saw him at our gym and I was like who is this person and now we're friends and now still

03:40who is this person we're doing dance classes before the race started we go over this every

03:46week John is a super fan of the amazing race Canada in high school I organized amazing races for my

03:52friends around the city um such a dork Grace and Joe siblings from Prince George British Columbia

03:59growing up we weren't very close and I'm sure that's how lots of siblings are but now we're best friends

04:07true I've been acting professionally for 15 years and I've worked with some incredible superstars

04:18I think Grace enjoys the limelight and I prefer to be more in the background I suppose

04:24Lacey and Celia sisters from Charlottetown PEI

04:31we are the first ever team from Prince Edward Island we're both performers on stage and PEI is

04:39famous for Anne of Green Gables from being in musicals as little kids we grew up doing everything

04:45Anne Anne of Green Gables was our primary source of income for like our whole child we made a lot of

04:50money off Anne when I was 16 years old I decided to open my own dance studio now we're the biggest dance

04:58studio in PEI most recently I was part of team Canada where we went to the dance world cup and

05:04I won a silver medal for the country which is really exciting so we're small but mighty just like PEI

05:09Ica and Dimitri married couple from Toronto we met and fell in love on Big Brother Canada

05:18my first impression of Dimitri was I thought you're a little annoying sorry I thought you were a little

05:26a little attack well my first impression was that you were drop-dead gorgeous we want to win so bad

05:34because we didn't win Big Brother Canada I might say the amazing race Canada might be a little bit

05:39harder for us we're gonna find out we're gonna find out yeah we're gonna find out

07:23my mom has raised me and my two siblings on her own so I'm a super proud mama's boy I'm the first

07:31grandma to be on amazing race Canada so at 58 years old I'm in the shape of my life and I'm so ready to

07:39kick ass she can be scared I did the bear oh sauce it's Osa what is your mantra for this race well John as

07:51you can see we are the short kings of this competition I'm 5'5 I'm 5'4 we want to run this
