Kendrick Lamar pushed his "Not Like Us" Drake diss to the forefront during his Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show in February -- and he's being honored for the performance with a pair of Emmy nominations!!!
00:00So the Super Bowl halftime show with Kendrick Lamar that was talked about so much leading up to it and then talked about it after for good and bad reasons.
00:08Some people didn't get it. A lot of people thought it was tremendous.
00:12Guess who got it? The Emmy nominating committee.
00:14The Emmy committee really got it because it was nominated for four different Emmys today.
00:19Emmy nominations came out and they really loved clearly the performance enough to nominate it four times in several different categories,
00:28including choreography, live performance, and a couple of others.
00:32But a big day for Kendrick Lamar.
00:34Patrick Schwarzenegger didn't get nominated.
00:36Patrick Schwarzenegger, yeah, did not get nominated.
00:38By the way, Beyonce also nominated for her halftime performance for that Netflix show NFL game on Christmas Day, was it?
00:46They're nominating a lot of sports kind of thing.
00:49Those are the live, you know, if you're looking for live performances, live shows, it's usually going to be around sports these days.
00:56So there's a development in the Drake lawsuit, not against Kendrick, about everybody else around Kendrick but Kendrick.
01:05As we've told you, he's suing Universal Music Group, his label, but also Kendrick's label,
01:11because he won for defamation because of the song, Not Like Us, where Kendrick says first of him is a pedophile.
01:17And also he believes that Universal colluded with several different people to make this song a huge hit and to besmirch Drake's name.
01:26And he is with Universal.
01:27Right.
01:28Awkward to sue your, anyway.
01:30Yes, but now he is taking aim at another huge entity in entertainment.
01:37That would be Jay-Z's company.

01:39He wants him to be a witness in the Universal Music Group.
01:43In the Universal Music lawsuit, which means theoretically he may call Jay-Z for a deposition.

01:56Yeah, by the way, we say part of what Drake has alleged here is that Rock Nation and Universal Music Group colluded to get Kendrick to perform the Super Bowl halftime show
