During a press briefing on Monday, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) spoke about former Arizona Rep. Raúl Grijalva who passed away earlier this year.

00:12You know, as far as the direction of the Democratic Party, you've got this influencer, Deja Fox, who's running,

00:20and then also Adelisa Grijalva, who's got some more endorsements.

00:24What does this say?

00:26Is this a microcosm of where the Democratic Party is right now trying to go forward?

00:31Raul Grijalva was a leading progressive in the United States Congress, a former chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

00:42In fact, he was a chair upon my arrival in the Congress, along with Keith Ellison,

00:49but a decades-long progressive champion for the communities that he represented in a variety of different ways in Arizona,

00:56and eventually as a national leader.

00:58So it's my expectation that whoever emerges from this primary is going to be, you know,

01:06someone who will continue that progressive legacy on behalf of Chairman Grijalva.

01:11And so, plan to qualify for the clockwise WDR.
