00:00Hi, I'm Laura Reid, the Deputy Features Editor at the Yorkshire Post and here's a look at what's
00:05coming up in the week ahead. The week of course when the House of Commons rises for summer recess
00:10and schools across England are breaking up after their summer term. In agriculture, Borreby Show
00:16will be celebrating its 75th year with this year's event on July 26th. The Agricultural
00:22and Horticultural Society's Combined Show and Gymkhana will include dog classes, show jumping,
00:27a hay bale race and a 5km road race. The following day, July 27th, sees the return of the Albro and
00:33Borough Bridge Show. Meanwhile, in Bradford, as the city continues to mark its UK City of Culture year,
00:40the Bradford Festival will return for two days in the city centre. Bradford Council and Bradford 2025
00:46are bringing performances, activities, food stalls and craft stands to City Park and Centenary Square
00:52on July 25th and 26th. Highlights include a high wire act, a good yarn which is a huge ball of yarn
00:59inspired by Bradford textile heritage which has been rolled through the streets and the world
01:03premiere of Z and the City. The latter is a celebration of youth, culture and community,
01:09blending together music, storytelling and puppetry. This Wednesday, July 23rd marks one year to go
01:16until the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. Those behind the event will use the day to reveal next
01:23year's mascot which is being created by a team of 76 school children in collaboration with the
01:28organising company, Glasgow City Council and Impacts Arts and Creative Agency 999.
01:35And in music, the television series The Traitors is full of intrigue, suspense and drama and The Traitors
01:42Prom is promising much of the same at the Royal Albert Hall on July 26th. Claudia Winkleman will be
01:48joined by a host of Traitors stars for the performance including Linda Rans, opera singer
01:57and BBC Radio 1 presenter Meena Shannon. The hit BBC TV show features a variety of classical music to
02:05punctuate the action from the Scottish Highlands Castle and The Traitors Prom will feature these well-known
02:11works from composers including Mozart and Tchaikovsky alongside the so-called Traitors Pop which is
02:17gothic and symphonic versions of chart tracks by artists such as Britney Spears, Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish.
