At the start of this month, parents and children from across Yorkshire were left shocked as three historic independent schools announced they are closing their doors for the final time this year.

00:05Three historic Yorkshire schools that have been going for 500 years combined have recently announced that they're closing.
00:15Fullneck School in Pudsey, Queen Margaret School for Girls in York have gone into administration,
00:23while Morelands in Leeds has announced that it's closing in December.
00:28We can exclusively reveal that Yorkshire schools' private schools are being unfairly hit by VAT.
00:37A former teacher and Yorkshire MP Mark Sewards have said that private schools have got to cut their cloths,
00:45so really they don't have to be passing on these extra fees to parents.
00:51One of the schools is actually in Rachel Reeves' constituency, Fullneck in Pudsey.
00:58But despite all this, our analysis shows that Labour have no regrets when it comes to introducing their VAT policy.
