00:00Foreign ministers from Egypt and Israel joined EU officials in Brussels on Monday for the fifth edition of the EU Southern Neighborhood Ministerial meeting.
00:10It's the first since the October 7th mass attacks. The conflict in Gaza cast a long shadow over talks.
00:17Good evening. Hamas is trying to stop people from getting to get the aid directly because they want to be the mediators of the humanitarian aid. That's how it became a financial resource for Hamas in Gaza Strip.
00:35The situation on the ground is extremely horrible. You know, every day now, more than 100 civilians in Gaza being killed every day.
00:49And it's shameful for all of us to accept this to happen on daily basis. Their main crime that they are waiting only to take some food to live, to exist.
01:00So, unfortunately, what's happening on the ground is awful. It's very bad with regard to the attacks, with regard to the aggressions, with regard to the starvation.
01:12And that's why it's important for us to participate in such a platform in order to, of course, to speak up and to tell our European friends what's happening on the ground.
01:30Meanwhile, in a bold diplomatic move, the EU says it plans to boost ties with Israel and nine southern neighbours, including Syria and Libya.
