Taiwan's labor minister has promised to work on on improving the rights of migrant workers employed by Taiwanese distant-water fishing industry. His comments came after the latest round of Taiwan-EU labor consultation and a CNN report claiming abuses in the industry, including avoidable injuries and death as well as unpaid wages. The Fisheries Agency has promised "zero tolerance" for abuses and said it would investigate.
