00:00Hello my dear friends and welcome back to another Star Wars video.
00:03So today we have a couple of Ahsoka Season 2 updates.
00:07Filming is already taking place here in the UK, the show doesn't drop until 2026,
00:12there's the Mandalorian and Grogu movie coming first,
00:14so we're probably not going to get anything too substantial for quite some time.
00:18That being said, we will take any breadcrumbs we can get.
00:22We had some awesome concept art at Star Wars Celebration,
00:25some comments from the new Balan, Roy McCann,
00:28and today my friends, we have a tease from Ivana Sakhno, Shin Hattie,
00:33one of the most captivating villains of the Disney Star Wars era,
00:37and the actress has been doing a press tour, not for Ahsoka, but for Megan 2.0.
00:42And I know what you're thinking, but no, it's not the name of my second channel,
00:46and it has nothing to do with me.
00:48But, after Ivana was asked about her role in Megan,
00:51and that sounds very weird to say by the way,
00:53she was asked about Ahsoka Season 2,
00:55and that's just the way it goes with Star Wars actors.
00:58No matter what else they're in,
01:00they're going to be asked about the galaxy far, far away.
01:02And while she can reveal too much,
01:04we know she's already filmed a couple of scenes,
01:07and she seems so enthusiastic.
01:09Speaking to ComicBook.com, she said,
01:11I really wish I could share something with you,
01:13but I have to be honest, you won't get anything from me.
01:16A lot of heart is being put into it.
01:18And here's the big part,
01:20we're trying to honour the world and the story as much as possible,
01:23and we have some really cool fights coming up, hopefully.
01:26Obviously, she cannot say too much about this,
01:28but what we did garner from the concept art shown by Dave Filoni at Celebration in Japan,
01:33big spoiler warning, my friends,
01:35Shin is going to fight Hu Yang.
01:37That's right,
01:38now that she's been abandoned by Balin,
01:40now that Shin is joined up with the bandits,
01:42she's in survival mode on Peridia.
01:44And while we have no idea if she will eventually team up with Ahsoka and Sabine,
01:48it seems like they're going to remain adversaries.
01:51And Hu Yang turns into freaking General Grievous,
01:53multiple lightsabers in his many hands,
01:56and we all know how much Dave Filoni loves a visual reference,
01:59so that's definitely a callback to Revenge of the Sith.
02:01But Hu Yang goes Grievous up against Shin Hattie,
02:04and I think it stands to reason there'll also be a rematch between Shin,
02:07and Sabine.
02:09Sabine this time may be more advanced,
02:11in her lightsaber skills,
02:12reconnected to the Force,
02:14and under the tutelage of Ahsoka Tano once more.
02:17So it's going to be different.
02:18And we know they're filming the Peridia scenes on location,
02:21so visually speaking,
02:22it's going to be a much more impressive season.
02:24They also got the cinematographer from the Netflix show Wednesday,
02:28so if you're talking about creepiness,
02:30Daphomia,
02:31the Great Mothers,
02:32a more vibrant colour palette,
02:34season 2 might be quite an interesting creative departure from the first season,
02:38and I see that as a win.
02:40However, my friends,
02:41we are still without an official release date.
02:44My prediction,
02:44if The Mandalorian in Grogu is coming first in May of 2026,
02:48Ahsoka season 2 will follow a similar pattern to the first,
02:51releasing sometime in August or September.
02:55If there are delays in production,
02:57which has been a trend with Lucasfilm,
02:58then maybe it gets pushed to December,
03:00a festive release like Skeleton Crew.
03:03Now just before we talk about our second Ahsoka update,
03:06I want to give you a little nugget,
03:08a bit of hope,
03:09for The Mandalorian in Grogu,
03:11and make you realise just how close
03:12our first look really is.
03:15So, Empire Magazine released their world-exclusive
03:18first look at Avatar 3.
03:20Avatar Fire and Dash releases on the 19th of December,
03:23and now we have some new stills,
03:25and some new information.
03:27The marketing campaign has officially begun
03:29six months out from release.
03:31If this is the way Disney and Empire Magazine are doing things,
03:34if this is the model for big blockbusters,
03:36then using the same maths,
03:38I reckon they're going to release the first look
03:40at The Mandalorian movie sometime this coming winter.
03:43If it's coming in May 2026,
03:45and using the six months as a good buffer
03:47between first look and official release,
03:49then we might get our first posters,
03:51photos,
03:52and interviews with the cast,
03:54this coming November.
03:55But because it's Star Wars,
03:57and because there hasn't been a Star Wars movie
03:59since The Rise of Skywalker in 2019,
04:01then they might begin the marketing campaign even earlier,
04:05maybe sometime in September.
04:06So we could just be a couple of months away
04:08from our first official Star Wars movie teaser in years.
04:12How exciting.
04:14And so now,
04:15on to another Ahsoka update.
04:16So, as I've said,
04:19principal photography has already begun,
04:21and we've heard so many rumours.
04:23The possibility of Tomor Morrison returning as Captain Rex,
04:26more Clone Wars flashbacks with Ariana Greenblatt,
04:29Hayden Christensen,
04:30this time we might even have Ewan McGregor and Natalie Portman.
04:34But now we have another development,
04:36one which might solidify
04:37that we are getting more Clone Wars flashbacks.
04:40Ariana Greenblatt was spotted supporting Rachel Zegler's new play here in London.
04:44Now, it could just be that they're good friends,
04:47but isn't it a bit coincidental
04:49that Ahsoka is filming at the moment?
04:51And multiple Ahsoka actors have been confirmed to be here in the UK.
04:55I wouldn't be surprised if one of the reasons
04:57is to film some of those flashbacks.
05:00And I want to ask you guys in the comments,
05:01this is the question of the day.
05:03What kind of flashbacks do you want to see in Ahsoka Season 2?
05:06There've been some rumblings of the Mortis arc
05:09getting a live-action rendition.
05:11So that could be the way Ewan McGregor features.
05:12We literally see Ahsoka, Anakin, and Obi-Wan
05:16crash-landing on Mortis, falling asleep,
05:19waking up not knowing what happened,
05:21being guided by the daughter.
05:22And this would be such a cool addition,
05:24because you killed two birds with one stone.
05:26You help fans who didn't see the Clone Wars
05:28understand the statues that Balin was standing on.
05:32And for those of us who watched the Mortis arc,
05:34seeing it unfold in live-action as a kind of recap,
05:37making it feel more real and connected to
05:39the live-action content, that is just a delicious cherry on top.
05:43But if you had to choose a battle,
05:45if you had to choose a moment from the animated show
05:47that would work in live-action,
05:49that contributes to the story of Season 2
05:51without being too fan-service-y,
05:53what would you choose?
05:54I've seen many fans say Ahsoka vs. Maul from Season 7,
05:57but, with Maul dead at this point,
06:00I wouldn't see the purpose of them doing this,
06:02unless, and this was one of the crazier theories I've heard,
06:05what's in Thrawn's catacombs are Maul clones.
06:09Maybe the Great Mothers are connected in some way to Talzin,
06:12because they had her sword,
06:13and maybe they heard the legends of Maul and Savage Opress,
06:17and maybe they want an entire army of warrior Mauls.
06:21In that case, you could show a flashback.
06:23But then again, Ahsoka doesn't have to deal with Thrawn at the moment.
06:26She was left stranded on Peridia.
06:29Thrawn and the Great Mothers are back in the known galaxy on Dathomir.
06:33So for now, Ahsoka's biggest threat is Balan.
06:36And I'm telling you guys,
06:38by time Ahsoka Season 2 rolls around,
06:40I really believe it's going to get better viewership than the first season.
06:43If The Mandalorian and Grogu does well and appeals to a wide audience,
06:47the hype could be off the charts,
06:49and they could use the end of the movie,
06:51maybe in a post-credits scene,
06:52to market Season 2.
06:54Because by then, with Andor being the last TV show we remember,
06:58and with The Mandalorian and Grogu,
06:59which I don't think is going to have too many lightsabers in it,
07:02we might be craving something more Force-related.
07:04So with Clone Wars flashbacks,
07:06with the Nezra fight scene rumoured,
07:07for Season 2 Episode 1,
07:09The Mortis Gods,
07:10maybe Obi-Wan in flashbacks,
07:12it could really scratch that itch.
07:13But I understand there are concerns about fanservice.
07:16Is it going to go too far?
07:17Well, that's why characters like Shin and Balen,
07:20who are new additions,
07:22are probably the most exciting characters in this show.
07:25Because we have no idea where they're going,
07:27and their purpose,
07:28in Season 2.
07:29There's a plethora of theories,
07:31but no one knows for certain.
07:33But, with that said my dear friends,
07:35I'm also looking forward to Megan 2.0.
07:37I'm a big fan of Ivana Sackno,
07:39really curious to see her performance as the android called Amelia,
07:42and it gives us an idea of her acting skills in 2025.
07:45She really is amazing.
07:47And let me know if you've already seen Megan 2.0.
07:49Is it as good as Star Wars Meg?
07:51I really doubt it.
07:52Can you really beat your galactic hostess?
07:54I don't think so.
07:56I'm just being silly my friends.
07:57Hope you enjoyed this video though,
07:58and if you did,
07:59please be sure to give me a big fat thumbs up,
08:02subscribe if you're new,
08:03check me out on socials,
08:04and may the force be with you,
08:06always.
