00:00Please sit down.
00:02Hi, Scott.
00:03So, I always said that if I ever became president,
00:06I would play that all the time,
00:08no matter where I went in the building.
00:10But I've never really gotten to do it.
00:12I wanted it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
00:14It's so beautiful.
00:15And pardon me for being late.
00:16We had a great meeting with NATO, the Secretary General.
00:19And we're going to do something a little different for this country.
00:23We're going to supply weapons to NATO at a large amount.
00:28They're going to deliver the weapons,
00:30and they're going to pay for 100 percent of the weapons.
00:32So, a little different.
00:36A little different.
00:37Hi, John.
00:38So, we're really — that's a big thing.
00:41And we thought we had four deals, Howard, right, with Putin.
00:46Somehow they end, and we get off the phone.
00:50Oh, that was a very nice conversation.
00:52And then he sends missiles into buildings someplace.
00:54I said, what was that all about?
00:56So, anyway, so we're going to be doing that with NATO.
01:00And it's fully approved, fully done.
01:02We'll send them a lot of weapons of all kinds.
01:06And they're going to deliver those weapons immediately to the site —
01:10to the site of the war — different sites of the war.
01:13And they're going to pay for 100 percent of them.
01:16This all was made possible by going from 2 to 5 percent a month ago when I went there.
01:21And those countries, those European countries — and I said, look, we have an ocean.
01:31It's not fair that we did.
01:33Because under the Biden administration, we paid about three and a half times more than they did.
01:39We were in for 350 billion.
01:41Got nothing for it.
01:43We were in for 350 and they were in for 100.
01:45So, which really meant one thing, because you have great business leaders here.
01:49It meant very simply that there were better negotiators than our president was.
01:53But — so this is a very important — very important thing.
01:58And hopefully that will come to an end.
02:01At the end of 50 days, if we don't have a deal, then we're going to have to do —
02:06we have no choice but to do — secondary tariffs.
02:09You call it secondary tariffs, which are pretty tough, which we don't want to have to do.
02:14But let's see what happens.
02:15But we thought we had a deal numerous times.
02:18I'd get home, I'd say, First Lady, I had the most wonderful talk with Vladimir.
02:23I think we're finished.
02:24And then I'll turn on the television or she'll say to me one time,
02:28wow, that's strange because they just bombed a nursing home.
02:31They said, what?
02:34So, we don't like that.
02:38But I want to thank you all for being here.
02:40And welcome to the first ever White House Summit of Faith and Business Leaders.
02:44You're really some of the greatest business leaders in the country.
02:48When I looked at some of the names, I said, whoa, that's big stuff we have here today.
02:52In fact, before I was president, I would have been very intimidated.
02:55But now I'm president, so I don't have to be.
03:00But today we celebrate the core values that built this country —
03:04and freedom, hard work, risk-taking, and above all, trust in Almighty God.
03:09You're very much into God in this room.
03:14And that's very nice.
03:15You're business leaders who believe strongly.
03:17We have some business leaders that don't believe strongly.
03:20And somehow you and I don't like them as much.
03:23But I want to thank Pastor Paula White.
03:25She's been my friend for a long time.
03:27And John for convening this incredible group.
03:37You know, her husband is one of the most talented musicians in the world.
03:41Stand up, John.
03:42Stand up.
03:43I stole a couple of his songs for the rallies, and he never sued me, so I was very happy.
03:53But we all come from the same place, right?
03:56So it was great, and we appreciate it, John.
03:59And thanks as well to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who's doing a fantastic job.
04:08He goes on television and he calms the market.
04:11I go on television, I rile the market.
04:14And I say, we better send him in there, Howard, right?
04:18And the market's become so calm and nice.
04:21So you're doing a good job, Scott.
04:22Thank you very much.
04:23You make any deals today?
04:25We've got a lot of them, boy, I tell you.
04:27We have.
04:28But the best deal is just sending out the paper.
04:30You know, they keep saying, well, he hasn't made a deal.
04:32Well, we've made a number of deals.
04:34But why isn't he doing deals?
04:35Because the paper is better than any deal we can make.
04:38Do you understand?
04:39The people in this, Kevin, they asked you that question this morning.
04:41You were great this morning.
04:42But they said, well, when is he going to start making deals?
04:45And the next time we could say just, no, every time he sends out a document that you have to pay 35 percent or 25 percent or 50 percent or, in one case, 100 percent.
04:58Those deals, you can't beat those deals.
05:00But we're still willing to talk.
05:02And they all, every, literally every country wants to make a deal.
05:06We're in a good position.
05:08You would go at a position of strength.
05:10I don't want to talk that way because I'm a politician now, unfortunately.
05:13And I don't want to talk about strength.
05:16I just want to say we have to be treated fairly because we were treated.
05:19We were ripped off on trade and the military for, you know, we protected other nations.
05:25Nobody paid us.
05:27Nobody did anything for us.
05:28Nobody helped us.
05:29And that's much different.
05:31You know, NATO is a much different situation now.
05:33When I got in, I believe we were paying for 100 percent of NATO.
05:37And now they're paying, they went from 2 percent, but they were paying 1 percent to 5 percent that they're paying.
05:43That's a big difference.
05:44It's about a trillion, $1 trillion difference.
05:46And they're wealthy, for the most part, wealthy countries.
05:49And some of them very, you know, they're among the most powerful, among the wealthiest countries in the world.
05:56So they're going to start paying and they want to pay.
05:59And we had a great meeting about one month ago that set the stage for what happened here.
06:05But it's very important.
06:07So I want to thank Scott for being here.
06:09I want to thank Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.
06:12You are doing a good job.
06:14Am I right when I say I really don't want deals?
06:19I just want the paper to get sent.
06:21Right?
06:22It's true.
06:23I can't.
06:24I don't know if this is on television.
06:25It's always on television.
06:27The SBA administrator and a great person.
06:30Cabinet member, a friend of mine for a long time.
06:32Kelly Loeffler.
06:33Kelly, you're doing great.
06:38She's small business, right?
06:40She only does small business.
06:41But when you add it all up, it's the biggest bank in the world by a factor of about 10, right?
06:46She's doing a great job.
06:48And director of the White House Faith Office, Jenny Korn, who's also amazing.
06:52Thanks, Jenny.
06:57From the earliest days of our republic, the steady compass of faith has guided the strong hands of American workers, builders, and entrepreneurs like really no other.
07:07Our country was founded by pilgrims and believers.
07:10And every generation since, Americans of faith have built our communities and forged new industries and enriched our country by millions and millions of people and ways.
07:21John D. Rockefeller, J.C. Penney, Charles Goodyear, Truett Cathy.
07:26And frankly, we have people I could name right in this room sitting here that their names are every bit as big as that.
07:33They were inspired by their love of God.
07:36And now the proud tradition continues with all of you.
07:39And this group reminds us, as a nation that prays, is a nation that prospers.
07:46And you see that I think one of the reasons we weren't so bad is they really wanted to take God and religion out of your lives.
07:54And there was nobody to, you know, look up to.
07:57There was just nobody.
07:58It was we were freewheeling and we can't freewheel.
08:02Now we have to bring religion back into the country.
08:05And we're starting to do that, I think, at a very high level, Paula, a very, very high level.
08:09You see, churches are starting to fill up again.
08:15Under the Trump administration, America is prospering and America is winning like never before.
08:21Our country is back.
08:22So I was in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE.
08:27And then a month ago, we were in Europe with all of the NATO countries, European countries and plus Canada.
08:34And almost everyone said almost the exact same words.
08:40They said one year ago, your country was dead.
08:45Terrible term, but that's what it is.
08:48Your country was dead.
08:50We thought it was finished.
08:52And now you've got the hottest country anywhere in the world.
08:56It's true is the hottest country.
08:58Did you see they found twenty five billion dollars of essentially profits last night?
09:03They said, where did it come from?
09:04Came from management, but it came from tariffs.
09:07And it came from, you know, good business skill.
09:12And I've always made money.
09:15Now I'm now I'm making it for you people.
09:18I've had good days and bad days.
09:20But in good days and bad days, I always found a way to make money.
09:24And we have to do that for our country.
09:25But and we did 188 billion in Scott just now, 188 billion in tariffs, 188.
09:32And we haven't even started yet.
09:34That's only for cars and steel.
09:37We actually haven't have barely started.
09:40The economy is roaring.
09:41Business confidence is soaring.
09:43Incomes are up.
09:44Prices are down and inflation is dead.
09:47It's dead.
09:48We have a bad Fed chairman.
09:51Really bad.
09:52If he would lower the rates, if he would lower the rates.
09:54And I tried being nice to the guy.
09:56It doesn't help.
09:57He's like a knucklehead.
09:58Oh, he's a knucklehead.
10:00Stupid guy.
10:02He really is.
10:04You know, each point.
10:06Think of this.
10:07Each point costs us three hundred and sixty billion dollars.
10:13Billion.
10:14One point.
10:15Three hundred and sixty billion.
10:17Two points.
10:18You got six hundred, seven hundred billion dollars.
10:21And we're way high.
10:24We're four fifty or four twenty five.
10:28Four fifty.
10:30And how do you go borrow money at one percent when the Fed has you at four fifty?
10:34And, you know, it's not that easy.
10:36I get angry at them.
10:37Why are we paying so much?
10:38You know, because he's got you up at this number.
10:41And we are the we should always be the lowest now that we're doing great.
10:48We have no inflation.
10:49Think of it.
10:50Our stock market hit record highs.
10:52Everything's hitting a record high.
10:54We're really running good with no inflation.
10:56And we should be at one point.
10:58We should be at one percent.
11:00We should be less than one percent.
11:02I think Switzerland is the lowest at like one half of a percent.
11:05We should be lower because without us is no world there.
11:09Really?
11:10I don't want to sound overly aggressive, but without us, you have no world.
11:13And we put our country on solid footing.
11:16We had a man as president who is the worst, the worst administration,
11:19worst president in the history of our country.
11:21We've had some bad ones, but he's the worst ever.
11:24What he did at our border can never be forgotten.
11:28Twenty five million people allowed to pour into our country, all unchecked,
11:32unvetted, murderers, gang leaders, gangsters, people that you don't want in our country under
11:42any means, terrorists.
11:44We have many terrorists in our country and we're watching them close.
11:48Tom Holman, by the way, is doing a phenomenal job.
11:51Christine Noem is doing a phenomenal job.
11:54We had last week it was reported nobody, not one.
12:00Even I don't know if I believe that number, but the numbers are done by liberals.
12:04So they said, did you know that?
12:07They said we had nobody, zero, cross our border.
12:11It's the first time that ever happened.
12:12Zero.
12:13Did you hear that?
12:14But we have people from mental institutions, insane asylums even.
12:22That's a mental institution on steroids, essentially.
12:26But we had people coming into our country.
12:29We can't have them and we have to get them out.
12:32But we can never forgive this administration this past.
12:35And I'm okay with administrations.
12:37I mean, I can go through a Democrat administration and say, hey, look, they worked hard.
12:42They tried hard.
12:44But the things that they did to this country, we can never, ever forget it.
12:49From the rigged elections to the border, to the transgender for everybody.
12:56From men playing in women's sport.
12:58Do you ever take a look at some of these records?
13:01There was a long-distance race, a marathon, where they had a great female runner,
13:06a number of them, but they had one in particular.
13:09And they had just an average male runner who had transitioned.
13:14He won the race at the end of the day by five hours and 14 minutes.
13:19They waited for five hours.
13:22The weightlifting records are better, though.
13:25The weightlifting records are better.
13:27You know, the way they took a record that hasn't been broken for 18 years.
13:3318 years.
13:35And, you know, they'd add a quarter of an ounce on each side of the barbell.
13:39And they're just a little tiny piece of stuff.
13:42And she'd go up and she could get it up.
13:45And this guy comes along.
13:47Have you lifted before?
13:48Yes, at a low level.
13:49He was a low-level lifter as a man.
13:52But transitioned.
13:53And he goes up to that thing.
13:55Bing, bing, bing, bing, bing.
13:58Could have done it all day long.
14:01Broke the record by 119 pounds.
14:05The whole thing is crazy.
14:08The swimming records are pretty good, too.
14:10You got to see that.
14:11I told the story.
14:12You had this great group of young ladies.
14:14And they grew up with each other.
14:15Because, you know, they sort of swam at the top level.
14:18And they were swimming.
14:20And one girl was seriously injured.
14:23She looked left and she saw the same girl she grew up with, Kelly, in California.
14:29Same girls.
14:30You know, at a young age, they sort of rise to the top.
14:32She looked to the right.
14:33She saw the same girls.
14:34But there was this giant standing right next to her.
14:37And he had transitioned.
14:38You probably heard this.
14:39He had transitioned.
14:41And she was...
14:42She'd never seen her before.
14:45And when the race was started, he blew by her so fast that she suffered massive windburn.
14:54They had to take...
14:55That's true.
14:56And he got out of the race and he went and had a little lunch.
15:05And then he came back and watched the rest of the young ladies finish up.
15:09The whole thing is crazy.
15:12And it's so demeaning to women.
15:14It's so demeaning to women.
15:16But it is what it is.
15:18But what they did to this country, it's...
15:20And we ended all of that, as you probably know.
15:23We ended the woke.
15:24The woke stuff is no longer in favor.
15:27But we're doing fantastically.
15:29Wages for blue-collar workers have surged by the most in over 60 years.
15:35Gas prices have reached the lowest level in five decades.
15:40Actually, it's going to be...
15:42We're going to see some really good numbers.
15:44We're, you know, drill, baby, drill.
15:45Drill, baby, drill.
15:46I've got to make sure that people can afford to produce the gas.
15:50But the gas has gotten to the lowest level in decades.
15:55And you're seeing $1.99, $1.98.
15:59And I saw $1.95 at certain states.
16:03Not California, because every time it goes down, they add taxes on today.
16:07You're at six, seven dollars.
16:08They just add taxes.
16:09All they do is they keep adding taxes.
16:11Terrible governor.
16:12He doesn't know what he's doing.
16:13He may be a candidate.
16:15But if you go by success, you can't have him be a candidate.
16:20And on Friday, it was announced that the United States Treasury ran a budget surplus.
16:25Is that true, Scott?
16:26In June, for the first time in many, many decades.
16:30Wow.
16:31I didn't know that.
16:35That's a good one, too.
16:36I'm going to have to put that in my repertoire, Scott.
16:40But the biggest victory of all came 10 days ago when I signed the one big, beautiful bill
16:45into law.
16:53And just as I promised, we did something that was amazing.
16:57You know, we were everybody was against it.
17:00I wanted it.
17:01I know Scott and Howard like the idea of it, too.
17:03But it was very risky because they've never done anything like it in terms of the size.
17:08The biggest bill ever passed of its kind, ever passed by far.
17:12And they were going to cut it into two, three or even as many as seven bills.
17:17And I said, the problem is that in the one big bill, everybody gets something.
17:23When you cut it into sevens, there are four or five of them or three of them.
17:27Right, Kevin?
17:28You get nothing.
17:29All they're going to do is fight it.
17:30You'll never get them passed.
17:32And so we went with it.
17:34I was on a show called Deface the Nation.
17:38Have you heard of it?
17:42They're so bad.
17:43They're so bad.
17:44These people, they're so average.
17:46But I was on this show Deface the Nation.
17:48Ladies and gentlemen, President Donald J. Trump on Deface the Nation.
17:55But they're all so bad.
17:56But we were on the show and she said to me a question.
18:01She said, what would you call this bill?
18:05Would you want to have it called One Big Beautiful or would you rather see it?
18:11I said, what I want is one great, big, beautiful bill.
18:16And Speaker Mike Johnson, John Thune, they were watching.
18:20And they said, what a great name for the bill.
18:22We actually ended up calling it that.
18:24We took the great out.
18:25I actually liked it even better.
18:27One great, big, beautiful.
18:29But they said, this is a little bit of a low key.
18:32But we got to pass.
18:33But we got to pass because there's something for everybody.
18:36And there are things that people don't like, but you need them for the country.
18:39You know, you have to you have to do some things that are great for the country, but they wouldn't necessarily get the votes.
18:45And we got the votes.
18:46Think of it.
18:47Not one Democrat vote.
18:49All the goodies that we got.
18:51Not one Democrat voted in either the Senate or the House.
18:55And we're talking about tax cuts and business.
18:58I mean, so many different things that are so good.
19:01Right.
19:02One Democrat vote went with us.
19:05Not one.
19:06So we had to get almost every in the House.
19:08We got 218 to 2.
19:10Think of that.
19:11218 to 2.
19:13Nobody could do that.
19:15It's never been done.
19:16And that says, you know, we have Rand Paul Jr.
19:19Who's a guy from we call him Rand Paul Jr.
19:21Because he always votes now.
19:23A guy named Massey.
19:25Always votes now.
19:26We had another guy who I helped very, very strongly helped him with a very personal situation.
19:31Got him through it.
19:32And he voted no.
19:33I said, thank you very much.
19:34I appreciate it.
19:35And then we went to the Senate.
19:37And you had, of course, Rand Paul, who always votes no.
19:40They call him just say no.
19:42I think they think it's.
19:44No, I think they.
19:46And, you know, I got him elected.
19:48I had to go to Kentucky twice to do rallies to get him elected twice.
19:52But they forget.
19:53A lot of politicians forget.
19:55And then we had a couple of others.
19:57Susan Collins.
19:58She's another one.
19:59Just say no.
20:00She always.
20:01Brutal.
20:02Brutal.
20:03And we had some people tell us, I guess it was a no, right?
20:07He was a no.
20:08And he they said he was brave.
20:11He said no to the president.
20:12But he resigned the following morning.
20:14So anyway, that was terrible, I thought.
20:19But but we couldn't lose more than three.
20:21And we we had three that said no.
20:24And so we won that 50 50 to three.
20:28So it's pretty close.
20:33And a senator came over to me and said, I can't believe you won the house.
20:37Great guy.
20:38This guy, the senator, Eric Schmidt, who's doing a great job.
20:40So I can't believe you won the house.
20:42I said, actually, so remember 218 to two, we needed three.
20:47So we could have lost three.
20:49We actually only lost two.
20:50I said, no, actually, the Senate was tougher than the house of the two.
20:53That question is asked to me, who was tougher?
20:55I'd say the Senate was tougher, actually.
20:58Amazingly.
20:59Shouldn't have been.
21:00We had a slightly bigger margin in the Senate proportionately.
21:02But it was brutal.
21:04It was they said, sir, we have 12 hard no's.
21:09You know, hard no is not recoverable.
21:12Right.
21:13This was a two thirty in the morning.
21:14Mike Johnson called up.
21:16It could be 20, but it's at least 12.
21:19So could you call them, sir?
21:22I said, what time is it?
21:24Two thirty in the morning.
21:26And we have to win.
21:27Right.
21:28The people in this room.
21:29Right.
21:30You never gave up my supporter right from day one and her husband with a bad damn back.
21:34Right.
21:35How's his back?
21:36Is he OK?
21:37Every time I see him, he's got a bad back.
21:39But he's got a lot of cash.
21:40So a lot.
21:43He's got a lot of cash.
21:45But no, they're great people.
21:46Thank you very much.
21:47I do appreciate you.
21:48You were there right at the beginning.
21:49You always was there.
21:51But we have so we have a situation where we call up these these people at two thirty
21:59in the morning.
22:00And I called up.
22:01I got along with them all great.
22:02I liked them.
22:03But they're tough.
22:04You know, they're congressmen.
22:05When you're a congressman for 20 years or you're a senator for years, you're smart and
22:10you're a survivor because you go through all sorts of hell.
22:13But I called up congressman.
22:15I said, Jim, hi, Jim.
22:17How are you doing?
22:18I said, he said, fine, sir.
22:21I said, family's good.
22:24Yeah.
22:25He said, sir, you have my vote.
22:27I never said what I was going on.
22:30I said, I do.
22:31Thank you very much.
22:32But how do you know what I'm calling you about?
22:34I said, sir, I've been your friend for two and a half years.
22:38You've never called me during normal hours.
22:41So I assume that if you're calling me at two thirty in the morning, you're not calling
22:46me to ask me, how's the family doing?
22:49I said, yeah.
22:51Pretty good.
22:53So I called up everyone.
22:55I think everyone, with the exception of one, I had to speak a little bit.
22:58But I call up, sir, you have my vote.
23:03Sir, you have my vote.
23:04Think of that.
23:05And we got 12 votes in a matter of I call back 20 minutes later.
23:08I said, you got all the votes.
23:10That spirit, right?
23:11That spirit.
23:12They wanted to maybe hear they want to have a little love.
23:14You know, the sad part is that some of the best people are the people that don't get
23:20any publicity because they go with something because it's good.
23:24So a guy like some of the people I'm talking about, but some of the people where you didn't
23:29even have to call, they vote.
23:31Yes, 100 percent.
23:32You don't have to waste any time with them.
23:34You don't have to beg them.
23:36Come on.
23:37You can do it.
23:38Come on.
23:39Let's have lunch.
23:40Let's have dinner.
23:41And then you have other guys that want you to suffer.
23:43I mean, some of these people that I just mentioned, whose names I just mentioned, you've
23:46got to go through hell.
23:48And the ones that are really good and they love the country and they're doing right.
23:53I mean, what's the alternative?
23:54You know, the alternative here, you're getting the biggest tax cut in history.
23:57And with the Democrats, you're going to have the biggest tax increase in history.
24:01Now, we could go into a hundred other details.
24:03They're equally as crazy.
24:04So I said, so what's the difference?
24:06So you're going to say no, and you're going to have the biggest tax cut in history this
24:11way, and you're going to have the biggest tax increase the other way.
24:14And you'll probably end up in a depression because if you ever did that, it would be
24:18a shock to the whole world.
24:19That's what happened in 1929.
24:22I said, so you're going to vote for the other side?
24:25Well, sure, I'll do what's really appropriate.
24:28You know, they're losers.
24:29But you have that.
24:31Really, they're grandstanders.
24:32You know, you have grandstanders and you have them in every business.
24:35And the Democrat has far fewer.
24:37They're grandstanders.
24:38But, you know, the one thing about them, they have bad policy.
24:41They're evil people in many ways, but they stick together.
24:43You don't have it where you don't have I don't want to use too many names, but you don't
24:49have a Mitt Romney in the midst who makes you suffer.
24:52You don't have some of the people that I mentioned who make it so hard.
24:57They make it so hard.
24:59And the alternative is one of two things.
25:01You can either get all these things and make the economy strong or you're going to literally
25:08have perhaps a depression where you people so rich, so beautiful, so nice to look at.
25:14We'll be totally busted.
25:16And let's see how long your wife stays with you.
25:19You're beautiful.
25:20She'll stay with you for about three weeks.
25:23And she'll say, darling, I can't take it anymore.
25:25I can't take it anymore, darling.
25:27I'm leaving you.
25:29I said to one guy, he's a very, very unattractive man, but he's smart and he's rich.
25:37And I said, you better hope we get this thing passed because your wife will be gone within
25:40about two minutes.
25:42He said, you're right.
25:47But so we had a tremendous success and it gives you the biggest tax cut in American history,
25:54the largest spending cut in American history and the largest border security investment
25:59of all time.
26:00And again, we're doing great on the border.
26:02I almost say, why do we need it?
26:03We have such good numbers, but you need it.
26:05Ultimately, you're going to need it.
26:07I built hundreds of miles of border wall.
26:08Without that, you could have never had the, you know, the results that we had.
26:12But to lift up the American family, we increased the child tax credit and made school permanent.
26:19We made it all permanent, the school choice, and we expanded school choice.
26:23And for every newborn child, we created what's called the Trump accounts.
26:28And this was Michael Dell.
26:30I don't know if Michael Dell's here, but Michael Dell, well, you tell him I mentioned his
26:34name because it's true.
26:35He would call me for three, four years.
26:37I didn't know Michael.
26:38I just know he's great success story and a great guy.
26:41That's all he talked about was the account where you put a thousand dollars.
26:46And as a baby is born, a thousand dollars into an account and you let it be invested by,
26:51I guess you pick out some good money determinant or fund or index.
26:57And I guess at a certain age, like when they're 30 goes earlier than that.
27:03But when they're 30, they're supposed to have like $75,000.
27:06That would have a huge impact on their lives.
27:09And it could even be more than that.
27:11So that passed.
27:13And you know, it's funny.
27:14That was one of the easiest things we had to get past.
27:16Can you believe it?
27:17I thought it's so many people loved it.
27:19They actually call it the Trump accounts.
27:21And I didn't fight for that name, right?
27:23I didn't fight for that.
27:24I said, that's a very great honor.
27:26But Michael Dell was amazing.
27:27That's what he and he's going to put, he said, he's going to invest billions of dollars
27:30doing it for children.
27:31He's going to put a lot of his money into it.
27:33But even more importantly than the economic success, we're restoring the spirit of our country.
27:38America is once again an optimistic nation.
27:41We were so down.
27:43It was depressing.
27:44We were so down.
27:46That's why I ran again.
27:47I got cheated.
27:48They rigged the election.
27:50But I said, you know, if I didn't think I won, I would have never run.
27:54Because that's like a poll, right?
27:55You lose, you lose.
27:56It's worse than a poll.
27:58But I saw the lack of spirit in this country for four years.
28:05It was a dark, horrible place.
28:08And for people of religion who were arresting your pastors, they were arresting.
28:12If you went to church and you had a service outside, and the reason outside because you
28:17had the COVID, and you could go outside, arrest everybody for even having the service.
28:24I'll tell you, religion took a big hit because of the way they treated all of us.
28:30And we now have a confident nation, an optimistic nation.
28:34And we have one nation under God.
28:36And we'll always keep that term.
28:43And we're bringing back, very importantly, and not just evangelicals or Protestants or this,
28:50all religions, we're bringing them back into our country.
28:53As president, I've ended the radical left war on faith.
28:56And we're once again protecting religious freedom like never before in our country.
29:00We're protecting it like never before.
29:03We're getting rid of the Johnson Amendment that didn't let the pastors and ministers
29:07and everybody speak about politics.
29:11Now you're able to speak about politics, Paula.
29:14You can speak about, you can say, I don't like that guy.
29:17And they don't take away your tax-exempt status.
29:20You know, they take away tax-exempt.
29:21And I'll tell you, remember when that started?
29:23It was at the meeting room before I ran, 2015, a year before the election.
29:28And I was with 50 faith leaders.
29:31They were great, very well-known people, mostly Protestant.
29:36But you had rabbis.
29:37You had an imam, two imams.
29:39And we were talking.
29:40And I said, I'd love to have your endorsement.
29:45And they looked at me like, what?
29:49I'd love to have your endorsement.
29:51We have such respect for you.
29:52And your, you know, your control are really very powerful.
29:55And they looked at me.
29:57They didn't say anything.
29:58Do you remember that?
29:59And I said, hmm, what's wrong with these people?
30:01I didn't know about the Johnson Amendment.
30:03Don't forget, I never did this stuff before.
30:05You know, it wasn't like I ran.
30:07I was on the other side.
30:08I was on the same side as you.
30:10You write contributions to people that you like.
30:12But I never ran, so I didn't know about the Johnson Amendment.
30:16And I called Paula and Jenny aside.
30:19I said, could I ask you, when I said I'd want your, you know, support,
30:25your political support and endorsement, they looked at me like,
30:30they looked at me very weird.
30:32What's going on?
30:33Well, sir, there's a thing called the Johnson Amendment.
30:36And if they even speak about anything having to do with politics,
30:40they will immediately take away their tax exempt status.
30:43And if they lose the tax exempt status in your world,
30:46that means you might as well close up your church.
30:49I said, you got to be kidding.
30:51So I can't really.
30:52And I told them we had another meeting a couple of months later.
30:56And I said, you know, you people in theory are the most powerful people.
31:00You're more powerful than man or woman, because we have more than 50.
31:04Let's assume men and women are 50-50.
31:06But you have 80 percent between all the different religions.
31:10I said, you have more power than anybody, but you're not allowed to use your power.
31:15I said, we're going to get rid of that because people want to hear what you have to say more than anybody else, pretty much.
31:21And we did get rid of it.
31:23And we launched something that's great.
31:26And now you see people, if they like somebody, they're able to talk about that somebody for office.
31:31Right, Jenny?
31:32We're able to talk about a certain politician that has your values and likes your religion.
31:37It's okay.
31:38And we got rid of it.
31:39That was Lyndon Johnson, a very powerful guy.
31:41And he had a problem with a pastor, I think, in Houston.
31:44And the pastor was not a fan of his.
31:47And he put the clamps on the guy.
31:49He really did.
31:50Amazing, actually.
31:51And we opened it up.
31:54I looked at him and we were up 68 stories in the air at Trump Tower and at this beautiful conference room.
32:00I looked down.
32:01I see people walking up and down the street.
32:03He said, that means that that person walking up and down the street, any one of them have more power than you do,
32:08because you're not allowed to even talk about it.
32:10You were even afraid to talk about it.
32:12But they're not afraid any longer.
32:14And I think they appreciate it.
32:17As president, I've ended the radical left war on faith.
32:20And we're once again protecting religious freedom instead of destroying it.
32:25And God is once again welcome back into our public square.
32:29It's very important.
32:36And I stopped the Biden administration's persecutions of Christians and pro-life activists.
32:41They would put people in jail if they even uttered the word.
32:46And, well, look at me.
32:48I mean, look what happened to me.
32:50I was under investigation more than the late, great Alphonse Capone.
32:54Think of it.
32:55Al Capone would kill people for dinner.
32:58If he left the room and he didn't like them, he'd have them shot, killed, buried under a building someplace as part of the foundation of a building.
33:06They were all over the place.
33:07And I said I had more time under investigation than the legendary Alphonse Capone or probably anybody else.
33:15I had.
33:16But I had a lot of good people with me.
33:18And most importantly, I had the base with me at a level that it actually became stronger.
33:23The one thing I did that was very helpful.
33:25I was indicted five times.
33:29Think of that.
33:30Indicted.
33:31That wasn't a word that was in my father's looking down, my mother's looking down.
33:34My son's not supposed to be indicted, I think.
33:37I got indicted five times, impeached two times.
33:40All bullshit, right?
33:42All terrible stuff.
33:44And I got impeached for making a perfect phone call.
33:49I congratulate.
33:50Good luck.
33:51Congratulates.
33:52I had a guy come up to me, a secretary, a secretary of energy from before.
33:57Sir, could you call up, of all people, President Zelensky?
34:01And I called him.
34:03I actually held off.
34:04He must have come ten times.
34:06Please.
34:07Because they wanted to do business or something.
34:09Oil and gas.
34:10Who the hell knows what they wanted?
34:12You can imagine what they wanted.
34:14But they wanted.
34:15Would you call up President Zelensky?
34:16And I did.
34:17When I finally got him, I said, congratulations on your win.
34:20Here, just one.
34:21This is early in the process.
34:22Should have never been.
34:23That war should have never taken place.
34:25By the way, if the election weren't rigged, that war would never be happening right now.
34:29Millions of people being killed.
34:31That war would never be happening.
34:32But would you call up?
34:34So I say, hello, President.
34:36How are we doing?
34:37Everything good?
34:38Good.
34:39Congratulations on your big victory.
34:40Wonderful job.
34:41Great, great, great.
34:42Hang up.
34:43That's it.
34:44I get indicted for making a phone call.
34:46I told that secretary, who wasn't the smartest bulb.
34:49He wasn't Rick Perry.
34:51You don't want him on your debate team.
34:53Let me put it that way.
34:55Rick, you're not going to be on my debate team, Rick.
34:58But he's the one that asked me to do it.
35:00Rick Perry.
35:01And I said, thanks, Rick.
35:02That was a wonderful suggestion.
35:03I just got indicted over your stupid call.
35:06This is what we have to put up with, right?
35:08This is what we have to do.
35:09We have to put up with things.
35:11But it's been an amazing period of time.
35:16And we've straightened out so many bad things in this country.
35:19I created a Presidential Commission on Religious Liberty and established the Department of Justice Task Force to eradicate anti-Christian bias.
35:28Because you have a very big anti-Christian bias that you don't think about and you don't hear about it.
35:34I established the White House Faith Office to defend and represent people of all faiths.
35:39And it's located in the White House.
35:41You've never had an office.
35:45You've never had that.
35:48And Jenny and Paula are there all the time.
35:51But we have it in the White House so people can call up and complain or they can call up and say, you're doing a great job, whatever.
35:59But we have it actually in the White House.
36:01Nobody's ever done that.
36:02We've restored the fundamental principle that God created, two genders, male and female.
36:07That was a tough one.
36:08That was a tough one.
36:10And we're defending parents' rights where the parents' rights have been taken away from them in schools.
36:17You look at some of these school boards, it's like they're brutal dictatorships.
36:21And we brought it all back.
36:23The parents have the control now.
36:24And last Monday, we effectively eliminated the infamous, as I said, Johnson Amendment.
36:30Such a big deal.
36:31And various other amendments and things that really took away your free speech.
36:36That's what they've done.
36:37They've taken away free speech.
36:39I also want to recognize the incredible contribution of our great First Lady, Melania.
36:45And she says hello.
36:50And Melania did the Be Best initiative in supporting children in our foster care system.
36:57She visits a lot of children, a lot.
37:00Yesterday, we went to the game, the soccer game.
37:02I don't know if you saw it in the Meadowlands.
37:04It was incredible.
37:05And she's always thinking about the children that have a hard time in helping America's young people reach their fullest potential.
37:12And it's remarkable to think that it was only one year ago this week that my time on Earth nearly ended.
37:21And if you look at that, God was with me because that's something, in theory, I should not be with you today.
37:30Well, I believe that, and I do, I believe it, that my life was saved by God to really make America great again.
37:54I really believe that.
37:55I think I have a son.
37:57He's a great shooter, like a championship shooter.
38:00Don and Eric was a great shooter, both of them.
38:03But they said that at that distance, with that gun, you didn't have a chance.
38:09And we turned the head at the right time, didn't we, huh?
38:12We turned the head at the right time.
38:14So, I don't know.
38:15Some people say it was lucky, and some people say something else.
38:17I say something else.
38:18I say something else.
38:19I think God helped us.
38:23So, I always believed in giving back to this nation, a nation that we love so much.
38:30And I know that everyone lives by that same sacred principle.
38:35The people in this room do, I can tell you.
38:37I really, I hate when I see complainers, you know, people that complain and they don't do anything about it.
38:43Like, in many cases, the media, not all of the media, we've, I mean, I must add something, because we won in a landslide.
38:48I think of it, we won every swing state.
38:52We won by millions of votes.
38:53We won the popular vote.
38:55We won the, there's a district vote that's very interesting.
38:59It's where the whole map is, looks red.
39:02Red for a Republican, by the way.
39:04But the whole map came out, I think it was 2,750 to 505.
39:09Think of that, that's broken into little districts, little areas.
39:13We had an unbelievable election.
39:15And so, I don't know, you know, somebody said, how do you win without the press?
39:21But we have a hidden press.
39:24And the real hidden press and the hidden vote is the people and the word of mouth.
39:28Word of mouth is more important than the press.
39:30And they see what we do and they see how we do it.
39:33I want to thank all of you and your great communities.
39:37And, you know, just, it's a blessing to our country that you're here.
39:41And a blessing to our country that you've become so successful and so great.
39:45And people look up to you, have no idea.
39:47You don't know.
39:48We take things for granted.
39:49You don't know.
39:50The people in this room are amazing.
39:51I even, looking at that list, I really said that's something, that's something great.
39:56And you're all believers.
39:57I think, Paula, you wouldn't have invited people that were not a lot.
40:02Is there an atheist in the room?
40:05Any atheists?
40:06I don't think so.
40:09I wouldn't want to raise my hand if I were.
40:11I'd be in big trouble.
40:14No, you invited all people that are outstanding in faith and success.
40:18And it's very, it's a very noble group.
40:20But it's because of the patriotism and goodwill of citizens like you that America remains strong and faithful.
40:27And free.
40:28And together, we're going to continue the fight for Judeo-Christian values of our founding fathers.
40:35We'll grow our economy.
40:36We'll defend our sovereignty.
40:38We'll protect our children.
40:40When you look at the job we did, I was just thinking because President Putin said it to me and other leaders said it to me.
40:47When they looked at those B-2s go in and think of it, they flew for 37 hours straight.
40:52We had 52 tankers, tankers, the gasoline tankers.
40:56And they rode along with them at different aspects.
40:58And they refueled.
41:00And not a, not a screw was broken.
41:02Not a net, not a, not a mark was on those planes.
41:07Every engine was perfect.
41:08When they landed, they were just as good as when they took off.
41:11Think of that, 37 hours and about 40 minutes through a very rough territory.
41:18And they, those machines worked incredibly well and literally not a problem.
41:25And when I honored the flyers, we did it last week.
41:28I also honored the mechanics, the people that took care of those machines.
41:32And I said, it's equally important.
41:34And you compare that same country, you compare that with what happened with Jimmy Carter.
41:42It was a sad situation.
41:44The helicopters were coming down and they were crashing and they were, the men were all over
41:49the place trying to get the hell out of there.
41:51And it turned out to be a hostage situation and horrible thing.
41:56And probably it was one of the things that cost them the election, certainly.
42:01But when you think of that and you see, this was in terms of perfection, they say, they
42:06think it was a perfect military.
42:08We sent the planes to Guam.
42:10Everybody thought we were flying to Guam.
42:12And they said, oh, they're going to Guam.
42:14Well, Guam's out of the way.
42:16Then at the same time, we had some others go in a different direction.
42:19And we I watched horrible, horrible CNN.
42:25You know, you have to watch sometimes your opposition and they are opposition.
42:29And I saw that they had basically the plans of when we're going in, when we would be entering
42:34Iranian oil airspace.
42:36And and I said, you know, that's weird.
42:40And I called the General Raisin Cane.
42:42He's fantastic.
42:43I said, General and Pete Hexeth.
42:45I said, I'm watching newscasts where they're saying what time you're taking off tomorrow
42:49and what time we're going to be entering the very dangerous airspace.
42:54The most the worst air space anywhere there is anywhere that in the world.
43:00I said, what do you think?
43:01Sir, we'll be fine.
43:03We blow them away.
43:04We'll be fine.
43:05Because, you know, they want those those B2s with seven.
43:08And they were surrounded by a lot of great planes.
43:11If F-22 is the most beautiful plane ever built.
43:15The fighter jet F-35s had a lot of different planes going with them.
43:19I said, but wouldn't a surprise be better?
43:22Yeah, it would be better.
43:23I said, well, then let me cancel it and let's make it at a different time.
43:28So the day before, you know, I canceled it.
43:30I canceled it.
43:31I said, I'm canceling it.
43:33We'll do it sometime within the next two, maybe three weeks.
43:36But I'm canceling it.
43:37And then I had a meeting and I said, I have an idea because I got slightly bigger coverage,
43:44to put it mildly.
43:45So everyone knew it was being canceled.
43:47I said, let's leave at the exact same time we were supposed to leave the following day.
43:51And we took off.
43:52And that's when the planes went out to Guam and this and that.
43:55And we took off.
43:56And that was the only time.
43:58And they said it.
44:00That was the only time they knew we wouldn't be coming in.
44:02It was the exact same time that I can.
44:04I said, let's do something.
44:05And they flew in and they were stealth.
44:08Incredible planes.
44:09They were stealth.
44:10And they hit every bomb hit their mark.
44:12Every single bomb hit the mark.
44:14It was unbelievable how they did it.
44:15And then they said skedaddle.
44:17Skedaddle means get the hell out of there.
44:19They had to get out of that airspace.
44:21But it was it was an amazing thing.
44:23And I think it was so great for our country in so many different ways.
44:26You know, you see so many incompetent people like the way we left Afghanistan with Millie
44:32and all these incompetent, stupid people and Biden.
44:35I mean, it was him.
44:36Leave everything behind.
44:38We'll leave jets behind.
44:40I said to Millie, I said, so you mean to tell me because I was going to leave.
44:44We would have left earlier than them, but we're going to leave with dignity and strength.
44:47I said to Millie, you mean you want to leave a jet fighter behind?
44:51Sure, it's cheaper if we do that.
44:53I said, wait a minute.
44:54Give me a tank of gas and I'll fly it to Pakistan or I'll fly it to some place or I'll fly it
45:00back home.
45:01Why is it cheap?
45:02Oh, it's just cheaper.
45:03That's when I realized the guy was grossly incompetent.
45:06Okay.
45:07He's telling me it's cheaper to leave a plane than it is that the planes cost 150 million
45:11a piece.
45:12Let's leave it, sir.
45:13It's just great.
45:14And they did.
45:15They left all the, you know, they, I was taking everything, but they left it behind.
45:18But when you look at what happened and compare that to what we have now, we have a, we have
45:24a real great machine.
45:25I rebuilt the military in my first term and we left, we left some of it to Afghanistan and
45:35the Taliban and they have their parades.
45:38I hate those parades.
45:39Every year they have a parade wheeling down our equipment on some very unattractive street.
45:45That's, you know, their fifth avenue.
45:47They show our equipment going down and just, it's getting older and older, but I hate to
45:53see it, but we're going to be working together to protect our children.
45:57And with the grace of God and blessing of providence, we will lead our country to heights that it's
46:03never seen before.
46:04I think we're going to be more successful in many ways, but I think we're going to be
46:08more successful than we've ever been.
46:10And I do think this, if we didn't catch it and we would have lost this election, our country
46:14was finished.
46:15I think it was that we were run by incompetent people.
46:18We were run by an auto pen and nobody knows who used it.
46:20I think it's one of the biggest scandals in the history of our country.
46:23We were run by an auto pen.
46:25Nobody has any idea who used it, including Biden.
46:28He doesn't know.
46:29He saw that interview yesterday.
46:30He had, you knew nothing.
46:32So it's a very terrible, we're against an evil group of people and they're very smart.
46:39Very smart.
46:40He's not, but they are.
46:41They took over the, they took over the Oval Office.
46:44They actually took over the Oval Office.
46:46We can never let a thing like that happen again.
46:49So, Paul, I want to thank you very much and I want to thank Jenny.
46:52And most importantly, I want to thank the people in this room.
46:54You really are incredible people, an inspiration to our country.
46:59And I know you don't know that.
47:01You don't think it because you're too busy working.
47:04But you are.
47:05You're a great inspiration to young people that want to be just like you when they grow up.
47:09And thank you very much for being here.
47:11And it's a great honor.
47:12And Paul, I think you're going to say a prayer.
47:14I'll stay with you while you say your prayer.
47:15Okay?
47:16Thank you very much, everybody.
47:18Thank you very much.
47:29Thank you so much, Mr. President.
47:32You guys may be seated for just a moment.
47:34And he is our greatest champion of faith of any president that the United States of America has ever had.
47:42We are deeply grateful for that.
47:46We are very honored that you are all here with us at the White House.
47:51And where faith is not sidelined, but has a seat at the table.
47:55And as we gather today as leaders of industry, of vision, of faith, I believe that today is going to be very enlightened.
48:04And I'm so overwhelmed.
48:05We're getting ready to worship and pray.
48:07And to just think that prayer, worship, and doing good works is welcome back into the White House.
48:14President Trump is a historic and a bold move established the White House Faith Office to recognize some simple truths that America is strongest when faith is engaged and not silenced.
48:31When believers are activated and they are not isolated.
48:35This administration understands that people who are of faith, who are entrusted with wealth and influence as you are, are essential to building a stronger, freer, and a more compassionate nation.
48:48You're more than just CEOs and business leaders and entrepreneurs.
48:52You're stewards on divine assignment, builders of legacy, and vessels of impact.
48:58You've been called by God to his kingdom for such a time as this.
49:02And together we are witnessing something absolutely remarkable.
49:06More has been accomplished by this administration in the past five months than in the last several decades.
49:12And that is due to the leadership of President Trump, his administration, and the great team he has assembled.
49:26America's spiritual and moral foundations have been restored, and it's only the beginning.
49:32Today's not just a luncheon.
49:34It is a moment of divine alignment, a commissioning.
49:37And we believe that God is raising up business leaders who don't separate faith from enterprise, but who see their platforms and their pulpits as their businesses and instruments for eternal impact.
49:49Let us pray.
49:51Heavenly Father, we come before you with great reverence and expectation.
49:55Your word declares in Isaiah chapter 43, verse 19.
49:59Behold, I am doing a new thing.
50:01Now it springs forth.
50:03Do you not perceive it?
50:04Lord, we do perceive it.
50:06We see the stirring of your hands, reviving hearts, reforming systems, raising up leaders at this very hour.
50:13We thank you for our great president, President Trump, for his life, his courage, his clarity, and unwavering defense of faith and freedom.
50:22May your wisdom guide him, and your protection always surround him, according to your word that does not return void.
50:29In Psalm 89, 21, that you say my hand will sustain him, and surely my arm will strengthen him.
50:36We bless every person in this room, those you've entrusted this wealth, strategy, and vision to, according to 1 Timothy 6, that you tell us, do not put our hope in riches, but be rich in good works, generous and ready to share.
50:51So they are your Josephs in Egypt, the wise stewards in famine.
50:56They are your Daniels in Babylon, the uncompromising voice, and your Lydia in Philippi, the ones who expanded the kingdom.
51:03Let this be more than a meeting, let it be a movement, where we come together and converge to bless communities, care for others, and reach nations, empowered by your purpose and your grace.
51:15Unite us with the common cause to use our time and talent.
51:18For thy kingdom come, thy will be done, in the earth as it is in heaven.
51:23In the mighty matchless name of Jesus, we pray these things and come in agreement.
51:27Bless his food and bless everyone, and everybody said, amen.
51:32And by the way, it is Secretary Howard Lutnick's birthday, so I'll wish him a very happy birthday.
51:43We are so grateful for your time, President, and my husband John is going to worship at any time that you have to go.
51:50We know that you have spent more than enough time, and you are running the country exceptionally for us,
51:56and we are all so grateful.
51:58So he will stay as long as possible, but will you let President know how much we love and appreciate him?
