During a press conference on Saturday, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem spoke about the Big Beautiful Bill.
Transcript
00:00Go ahead.
00:01Okay, thank you.
00:02And now that the big, beautiful bill has passed, are 287-G officers in Florida expect to get
00:07any sort of funding increases?
00:09Well, we'll look at how those agreements are set up.
00:12Each 287-G contract is different according to, you know, which law enforcement entity
00:19it signed the contract with.
00:20So many of them have financial resources.
00:23There will be more resources going into the program.
00:26I can't speak specifically to one agreement or another, but if you have one that you're
00:30curious about, I'll get you the details on it.
00:32But we have over 800 different 287-G contracts now signed across the country with either local
00:39law enforcement, sheriff's office, city, or state entities.
00:43That has been fantastic.
00:45That helps us build out our support and helps us build out our numbers so that we can conduct
00:50these operations and do it in a way that we've got our law enforcement back to.
00:54And you had one.
00:55Will Tampa Bay be seeing any increases anytime soon?
00:58I would think so.
01:00You know, the bill gave us incredible resources to come out and to support our law enforcement.
01:06You know, the Department of Homeland Security, it's our mission literally is to protect the
01:11homeland and to do it with honor and integrity in a way that really serves the American people.
01:17So we will continue to look for opportunities to do new things that maybe you haven't seen
01:22before that will make sure that we have our security needs addressed.
01:26We have to do this in the next few weeks.
01:28All right.
01:29I hope that, why not be a security, no one is the security.
01:31No one is going to be a security in order and safety.
01:34Here we have our security in the covering.
01:35I do not want to be a security in the covering now.
01:38Okay.
01:39I'm sorry.
01:40I have to ask you.
01:41That's a security in the covering.
01:43Yes.
01:44No one is set.
01:45A security in the covering.
01:46I have to be careful with your security.
01:48Yeah, I am not sure.
01:49I am not sure.
01:50Yes.
01:51I will have to be a security that's going.
