00:00Yeah, quick question. Sure. As we have currently missiles raining down on a U.S. force in Qatar,
00:06what is your biggest concern when it comes to safety for Americans?
00:10Well, you know, the President of the United States is making some very important decisions right now.
00:14My responsibility is to secure the homeland, to do all I can to make sure that we're identifying threats that may be here,
00:21what we can do to get in front of them before anything could happen to the population that live here in the United States,
00:27but also to work with our local governors and law enforcement to make sure that they recognize potential threats or suspicious activities.
00:34Are you seeing any? We have not seen any currently, but I do know that I'm going to leave here and go get some intelligence briefings
00:41and need to get into a secure area for some new information. So I'll know more later.
00:46Is the agent particularly concerned about the 1,500-year actionals that entered during the Biden administration or were arrested rather than half of them from the U.S.?
00:54No, we did see thousands of people come into our country over an open border under the Biden administration that came from the Middle East.
01:02We have always been aware of the fact that some of these folks that may have come into our country could have potentially been radicalized,
01:09and so that is why we continue every day to go out and identify individuals that could be a threat to our homeland.
01:15And we'll continue to work to do that. We recognize that as tensions escalate, that that means that there could be more potential for threats here at home,
01:22and so that's why we're at an elevated threat right now, and we'll continue to stay diligent.
01:28And ahead of events like July 4th, is there a particular concern about future events like that?
01:33You know, there's been concern since I took this job.
01:36We have incredible threats to this country from many nations that are enemies to the United States of America.
01:43You know, it's not just Iran. It's North Korea, Russia, China.
01:47Consistently, every single day, are trying to threaten our way of life.
01:50So my job is to do all that I can to protect our country before something bad does happen.
01:55When we talk about sleeper cells, a lot of the past, like, in terms of hits on the president and other U.S. officials,
02:02those have been carried out, at least according to prosecutors, by individuals hired here, not sleeper cells.
02:08Is there a concern of something different?
02:10We've seen both. We've seen some from overseas and some that have been here, maybe gone overseas for a short period of time,
02:16become radicalized and come back, or individuals that are right here in the United States.
02:20So we have to watch for all of it and to be diligent on all of it, and we'll continue to do so.
02:26And what information do we know right now in regards to those sleeper cells?
02:31How is DHS tracking and falling and seeking information in regards to them?
02:35Yeah, I can't necessarily share that with you, but I will tell you that we are continuing to evaluate every single threat
02:42and to proactively go after them before they do anything or take any activity.
02:46Are we changing security policies at ports of entry since Saturday?
02:49I can't talk about that.
02:50Secretary Nune, what's your message to Americans who are seeing what's going on overseas
02:54and are concerned about an attack on the homeland? What is your message to them?
02:58You know, what I would tell the people that live in this country is to be grateful
03:01that they woke up this morning in the United States of America.
03:04We, because we woke up here, are more blessed than 99% of the people in the world
03:09because we live in a country where freedom and liberty is embraced,
03:12and that's what our president was protecting by going after specific nuclear sites in Iran.
03:17That was something that was non-negotiable,
03:21and he did not do anything except take out the potential for that nuclear weapon to be utilized.
03:27This country is leading the world and has been for many years,
03:31and will continue to do so as long as we still have strong leadership like President Trump's in the White House.
03:36Are Americans safer today because of the actions on Saturday?
03:38I believe that the president worked aggressively to make sure that we are safer
03:42and will be into the future as well.
03:45Are you aware of any threat that was issued to Trump while he was overseas by Iran saying we might?
