Transcript
00:00The President, we had a great time at the big soccer
00:03match today at the Meadowlands.
00:04It was phenomenal.
00:06It was a little bit of an upset, I guess they would say.
00:10But it was a great, great match.
00:12Very well played.
00:13Tremendous crowd.
00:15And that's sort of a pre-World Cup.
00:17We have World Cup coming.
00:18We have Olympics coming.
00:20And we have 250 years coming.
00:23That's going to be a big one.
00:24Maybe the biggest one of all.
00:26So that was great.
00:27We had some tremendous financial numbers released
00:32on Friday, as you probably heard,
00:35that our country made $25 billion last month.
00:38$25 billion.
00:40It hasn't done that in a long time.
00:42And a lot of that's done because of good management,
00:45at number one.
00:47And maybe even more importantly,
00:49the tariffs that are pouring in.
00:50We have tariffs pouring in at levels
00:53that we have never seen before.
00:54And they've only just started.
00:56That's really a small portion.
00:58That's mostly from cars and aluminum and steel.
01:02A little bit of lumber.
01:04But they'll really start in about another week.
01:09And then in about a month,
01:10they'll come in at levels that are extremely strong.
01:14And our country is making a lot of money.
01:17A lot of money.
01:19We're dealing with other countries,
01:20and certain countries that would rather have a deal
01:25than a regular tavern.
01:26We're willing, if they're willing to open up.
01:29These are countries that have been shut to us,
01:31but we've been open to them.
01:33In other words, they wouldn't let us do business there,
01:35but they would do business in our country.
01:37Not a fair deal.
01:39So the European Union is talking to us.
01:41They want to open up their country.
01:43I would say Japan, to a much lesser extent,
01:46in terms of opening up their country.
01:49Japan, as you know, and we're very close to Japan,
01:52but they sell us millions and millions of cars a year.
01:56We sell them no cars, because they won't accept our cars.
02:00And they won't accept much of our agriculture either.
02:03So, but they're all changing their ways very, very rapidly.
02:08South Korea wants to make a deal other than tariffs.
02:11Right now, as you know, they're paying a substantial tariff,
02:14but they want to make a difference.
02:16So, some of these deals, maybe I'll change them and maybe I won't.
02:20But our country is making a lot of money,
02:24a lot of money for the first time in a long time, in decades.
02:28And that's the way it should be.
02:29We have a country that's, and I said it the other day to you people,
02:34we have a country that was dead, was dead.
02:37It was a goner one year ago,
02:40and now we have the hottest country in the world.
