After attending a press conference on an upcoming SBE Serla Charity Badminton Tournament on Monday (July 14), independent mixed doubles shuttler Lai Pei Jing spoke to the media about mental health challenges faced by athletes and how she overcame them especially during her difficult times when she lost life savings to scammers last year.

Pei Jing also wished her close friend and Paris Olympic Games bronze medallist Lee Zii Jia would overcome his own share of challenges.

01:37Everyone has different, maybe some, maybe go for a karaoke or meet some friends
01:43But everyone has different methods to really express
01:46What about family?
01:47Yeah, family, family is always my first priority
