00:00:00Crime, conspiracy, cults, and murder.
00:00:02All things that I love to consume on a regular basis.
00:00:08And things of which I like to talk about with you
00:00:10because I find them fascinating and I know you do too
00:00:13because you're watching me.
00:00:15And today I thought we'd delve into something
00:00:17I have not talked about yet on this channel
00:00:19and that is a couple serial killers.
00:00:22Not a couple serial killers.
00:00:23Serial killers who are a couple.
00:00:26Specifically Fred and Rose West.
00:00:28Names synonymous with horror, depravity, and unspeakable acts.
00:00:33This was a married couple that collectively murdered
00:00:35up to 30 young women over the span of two decades.
00:00:39Together they would build a torture dungeon
00:00:42in their home at 25 Cromwell Street
00:00:44in the small English town of Gloucester.
00:00:47Sorry if I said that wrong.
00:00:49And it is there that they would murder runaways,
00:00:51hitchhikers, and even family
00:00:52as a part of their regular sexual life.
00:00:55Treating these strangers as nothing more than trash.
00:00:58And it is at this address
00:00:59where they would dispose of the girls as well.
00:01:01In this video we will delve into
00:01:03the chilling chronicles of their lives
00:01:05from their births to their eventual demise.
00:01:09So let's unbuckle our seatbelts,
00:01:10go Mach 5 down the highway,
00:01:12slam on the brakes,
00:01:13and dive through this windshield
00:01:14into this match made in hell together.
00:01:28Thank you to Audible for sponsoring this video.
00:01:35For those of you who are living under a rock
00:01:37and don't know,
00:01:38Audible is the world's leader in audio entertainment,
00:01:41audiobooks, podcasts, and Audible originals.
00:01:44It is the destination for storytelling
00:01:46that excites and transports listeners
00:01:48over the course of their daily lives.
00:01:50I know for me, I am constantly on the go.
00:01:53And I know I struggle with just sitting down
00:01:55and reading something.
00:01:56It takes a lot for me to do that.
00:01:58So Audible has been huge
00:02:00while doing other things that I want to get done.
00:02:02Whether it's cleaning the house,
00:02:04or going for a walk,
00:02:05or traveling in a car.
00:02:07Because I cannot read a book in a car,
00:02:08I will vomit.
00:02:09And I have been using Audible for years.
00:02:11So I was super excited
00:02:12when they reached out to work with me.
00:02:14And I'm a huge horror and true crime fan.
00:02:16As you guys know,
00:02:17I just listened to it.
00:02:19And if you guys have seen the movie,
00:02:20it doesn't do the book justice,
00:02:22I would highly recommend listening to that.
00:02:23It's terrifying and awesome.
00:02:25And I have a couple other thrillers
00:02:27that are lined up for me to listen to,
00:02:29including The Coldest Case by James Patterson,
00:02:32another one of my favorite authors.
00:02:33And Good Half Gone by Taryn Fisher.
00:02:36I also really enjoy listening to autobiographies as well.
00:02:39I've listened to Robin Williams and Matthew Perry's,
00:02:41and they are outstanding.
00:02:43I highly recommend those as well.
00:02:45Especially with Matthew Perry's,
00:02:46it's so cool that you could actually hear his voice.
00:02:48It just makes it that much more special.
00:02:50And with the true crime stuff,
00:02:52I find that the narration really helps you get immersed
00:02:55into the experience and makes it that much cooler.
00:02:58And new members can get a free trial on Audible.

00:03:10which is awesome.
00:03:11And one of the things I love the most
00:03:13is that Audible has a must hear collection
00:03:15of the latest and greatest the thriller genre has to offer.
00:03:18And they have everything from action thriller
00:03:20to psychological thrillers.
00:03:22Essentially anything thriller you can imagine,
00:03:25it's there and it's awesome.
00:03:27But besides thrillers,
00:03:28Audible has literally everything to offer.
00:03:30From bestsellers to new releases
00:03:32to celebrity memoirs, like I mentioned.
00:03:34Mysteries, motivation, and wellness,
00:03:36which I also enjoy.
00:03:37I highly recommend listening to The Antidote
00:03:39and 4,000 Weeks.
00:03:41That's one of my top picks as well.
00:03:42And the Audible app makes it super easy anytime, anywhere.

00:03:55Thank you again to Audible for sponsoring this video.
00:03:57Let's get back to it.
00:03:58Also, I know I am not in my regular space.
00:04:00I am in Texas and I do look like I am Oompaville,
00:04:03but I'm not.
00:04:04I am just in his space using his stuff
00:04:06because I don't have mine yet.
00:04:08So we're just gonna,
00:04:09we're gonna have this questionable background for today.
00:04:13So let's start with Fred West.
00:04:15Fred was born on September 29th, 1941
00:04:18in a rural town of McMarkle, England.
00:04:21Again, sorry if I said that wrong.
00:04:22To a very, very poor family.
00:04:24His parents were named Walter and Daisy West.
00:04:27And although those names sound very pleasant,
00:04:30they were in fact the exact opposite.
00:04:32Not only were they hideous on the inside,
00:04:34they were hideous on the outside as well.
00:04:36Being called literal ogres by people that knew them.
00:04:40And don't take my word for it.
00:04:42Look at them for yourself.
00:04:43I can only make fun of them
00:04:44because I know they're literal pieces of shit.
00:04:46So Fred would be the firstborn of five children.
00:04:49One of which was a raging psychopath,
00:04:52just like Fred.
00:04:53And his name was John West.
00:04:54He was later found to be a possible accomplice
00:04:57to Fred and Rose West later on
00:04:59for the grapes and murders
00:05:02committed against Fred and Rose's victims.
00:05:04But that's actually very new information.
00:05:06So we don't have a lot on that right now.
00:05:08So for now, we're gonna focus on Fred.
00:05:09So Fred's family was the epitome of poverty,
00:05:12turmoil, and mistreatment.
00:05:14If you were to know nothing about his crimes as an adult
00:05:17and just heard about his childhood,
00:05:19you could guess pretty quick
00:05:20that this kid was gonna grow up pretty fucked up
00:05:23and into some weird ass shit.
00:05:25Not that there's anything wrong with growing up poor.
00:05:27I think a lot of us did
00:05:28and turned out not to, you know,
00:05:30murder everyone we know.
00:05:32But when it's coupled with
00:05:33and brainwashing and severe head trauma,
00:05:37it might lead to a different story
00:05:39like it did for Fred.
00:05:40Not making excuses for him, by the way.
00:05:42I hate this man with all of my being.
00:05:45But I think the history of these people
00:05:47becoming who they are is extremely interesting.
00:05:49So like I said, Fred's parents were far from well off
00:05:52and were even further from being sane.
00:05:54But before anything crazy
00:05:56happened to Fred,
00:05:58he was known to be a very boring and dull child
00:06:01and would routinely get bullied
00:06:02and beat up by his peers in school.
00:06:05Along with his teachers,
00:06:06you know, back in the good old days
00:06:08when your teachers beat you
00:06:09for not writing a cursive word correctly.
00:06:12So because he got beat up so much in school,
00:06:15his mother would often step in and come to his aid
00:06:18and he would become quite the mommy's boy.
00:06:21And this was more true than anyone could imagine.
00:06:24Because when he turned 12 years old,
00:06:27Daisy West began having
00:06:29sexual inter-you-know-what
00:06:31with her oldest son, Fred,
00:06:33aka mommy's boy.
00:06:35And this was normal for them.
00:06:38Obviously, Fred didn't know any better
00:06:39because he was a little child at the time,
00:06:42but it was not incredibly unusual for the time
00:06:45for this to be taking place in families
00:06:48in this area specifically as well.
00:06:50Don't get me wrong,
00:06:51most people did find this appalling
00:06:53and it wasn't necessarily normal
00:06:55or that everybody did it,
00:06:57but there was more families
00:06:58than you would like to believe
00:06:59that practiced this stuff.
00:07:02More so between cousins
00:07:03doing the dirty with each other,
00:07:04not necessarily, you know, mothers and sons,
00:07:07but it still flew under the radar
00:07:09amongst a lot of people.
00:07:11Fred's father, on the other hand,
00:07:12told and encouraged Fred
00:07:14to use and other children.
00:07:17He said that it was just the natural thing to do.
00:07:19And Fred would internalize this
00:07:21to the fullest extent
00:07:23and terrorize other kids in the neighborhood
00:07:25as much as he could.
00:07:26Even after he was caught and scolded
00:07:28about assaulting multiple girls in the community,
00:07:32he was bewildered by the fact
00:07:34that anyone really cared.
00:07:35Him saying that,
00:07:36well, everyone did it,
00:07:37so why can't I do it?
00:07:39That's kind of what he sounded.
00:07:40That's not exactly what he sounded like.
00:07:41That's what he's going to sound like
00:07:42in this video, right?
00:07:43As a 12-year-old.
00:07:44So you'll start to see how Fred's family
00:07:46basically groomed him
00:07:48to believe anyone besides yourself
00:07:50is disposable playthings
00:07:52that you can use
00:07:53and throw out anytime
00:07:54with zero repercussions.
00:07:56Now, by 15, Fred left school
00:07:58barely able to read or write
00:08:00above a second grade level.
00:08:02And although dumb and cruel,
00:08:03people did think
00:08:04he was one of the best-looking teens in town.
00:08:08What the f***?
00:08:08And for the most part,
00:08:10besides occasionally trying to be a creep
00:08:12and girls and bullying other kids,
00:08:15he was probably going to stay
00:08:17a pretty mild criminal like his father,
00:08:20according to professionals
00:08:21that psyche-vowed him later in life
00:08:23and wouldn't become the sadistic murderer
00:08:25he was come to be known as.
00:08:27But what is assumed to have sparked
00:08:29those murderous, psychopathic,
00:08:31sadistic tendencies
00:08:32was an event that happened
00:08:34when he was 17 years old.
00:08:36One day, he was riding his motorcycle
00:08:38while a girl was riding her bicycle
00:08:39in the opposite direction toward him.
00:08:42And Fred, being the little f*** that he was,
00:08:44tried to intentionally run her over,
00:08:47but in doing so,
00:08:48he crashed his bike
00:08:49and flew over the handlebars,
00:08:50landing right on top of his head,
00:08:53putting him into a seven-day coma.
00:08:56Or should I say seven-day karma?
00:08:58Am I right?
00:08:59Anyway, and that injury
00:09:00to his frontal cortex alone
00:09:02would have probably put him right in
00:09:04with plenty of other serial killers,
00:09:06da brain chemistries.
00:09:08But this dumb little bastard
00:09:09ended up hitting his head again
00:09:11shortly after the first time he did.
00:09:14And this happened when he was trying
00:09:15to grab a girl on a balcony
00:09:17inappropriately, shocking, classic Fred.
00:09:20But she ended up punching him in the face
00:09:23and he ended up falling off
00:09:24the two-story building
00:09:25and landing on his head,
00:09:27losing consciousness again.
00:09:29So having two severe concussions
00:09:30back-to-back at the time.
00:09:32At this point,
00:09:32I think there was some higher power
00:09:34trying to get rid of Fred West,
00:09:37but this mother was gifted
00:09:38with the nine lives of a cat at birth.
00:09:41So I digress.
00:09:42So when Fred recovered from these injuries,
00:09:45everyone around him said
00:09:47that he changed for the worst,
00:09:49being more short-tempered
00:09:50and violent than before.
00:09:52And this is a very common thing
00:09:53among serial killers.
00:09:55For those of you who don't know,
00:09:56frontal lobe injuries
00:09:57in the early years of serial killers
00:09:59are said to be one of the causes
00:10:01of later crimes
00:10:02due to the reduction of size
00:10:04and activity in their prefrontal cortex.
00:10:06This is the area of the brain
00:10:07that's responsible for decision-making,
00:10:09impulse control, and empathy.
00:10:11And neurologists have studied at length
00:10:12that individuals who have undergone damage
00:10:15to their ventromedial frontal cortex
00:10:17and who had normal personalities
00:10:19before the damage
00:10:20developed abnormal social conduct
00:10:23leading to negative personal consequences.
00:10:25And although this is true
00:10:26for some serial killers,
00:10:28brain damage cannot be
00:10:29the motivator for serial killing alone.
00:10:32In fact, 46% of all confessed serial killers
00:10:35have no frontal damage
00:10:37or any brain damage at all.
00:10:39The majority admits
00:10:40that they were perfectly aware
00:10:41of the acts that they were doing
00:10:42before, during, and after
00:10:44committing the crimes.
00:10:45It's often a mixture of nature and nurture,
00:10:48but when both those aspects
00:10:49of their life are negative
00:10:50and you throw in
00:10:52a little frontal lobe injury,
00:10:54it's a recipe for disaster.
00:10:55Anyway, neurological lesson over.
00:10:57Let's get back to it.
00:10:58Now, after Fred sustained his head injuries,
00:11:00he started to go off the rails.
00:11:02When he was 19,
00:11:03he began having a relationship
00:11:05with a 13-year-old girl.
00:11:07That's a crime.
00:11:07And proceeded to also get her pregnant.
00:11:10That's also a crime.
00:11:11It's a two-for-one.
00:11:11And he would be arrested
00:11:13for this initially,
00:11:15saying that it was
00:11:16having unlawful,
00:11:17carnal knowledge of a child.
00:11:19Whatever that means.
00:11:20So after his charges in trial,
00:11:22Fred would quickly become known
00:11:24as the town brain-damaged,
00:11:26violent, child thief.
00:11:28And with this astounding reputation,
00:11:30believe it or not,
00:11:31he couldn't get a job.
00:11:32So he would move to another town
00:11:34called Ledbury
00:11:35and would do odd manual labor jobs
00:11:37in construction, mostly.
00:11:39And this would be the job
00:11:40he'd do for the most part
00:11:41in and during his adult life.
00:11:43And these would be the skills
00:11:44he'd use in building
00:11:46the torture chamber
00:11:47that came to be in his family home
00:11:49in the years to come as well.
00:11:51So Fred, now working
00:11:52and stealing in Ledbury,
00:11:54he was also a kleptomaniac.
00:11:56Can you believe it?
00:11:57He had an ex-girlfriend
00:11:58named Rina Costello
00:12:00return home from traveling.
00:12:02They had dated previously
00:12:03years before
00:12:04for a short period of time.
00:12:06And then she had left
00:12:07and then she had traveled back
00:12:08and they hit it off again.
00:12:09And also she was pregnant
00:12:11with a Glasgow bus driver's child.
00:12:13And after finding out
00:12:14the child would be mixed race,
00:12:16Fred took it upon himself
00:12:17to offer slash convince
00:12:20to abort the child
00:12:21for her in the woods.
00:12:23What a gentleman.
00:12:24But luckily,
00:12:24while he was performing
00:12:26the abortion in the woods,
00:12:28they would get caught by somebody
00:12:29and be forced to stop.
00:12:31And Fred would then agree
00:12:32to raise the child
00:12:33instead of trying to abort it.
00:12:35What a swell guy.
00:12:36So in 1962,
00:12:38Fred and Rina would get married.
00:12:40And can you believe it?
00:12:41The guy that wanted
00:12:42to rip out a child
00:12:43from the woman's body
00:12:44wasn't the best husband.
00:12:46Immediately after
00:12:47they got married,
00:12:48Fred treated Rina
00:12:49like a sexual object
00:12:51and nothing else.
00:12:53Demanding it constantly
00:12:54and treating her
00:12:55like she was less than human.
00:12:57Which you'll find
00:12:58a major pattern in
00:12:59with Fred's MO.
00:13:01And this next part
00:13:02probably seems like
00:13:03it's not important
00:13:04to the rest of this story.
00:13:06But Fred was a constant
00:13:08premature ejaculator.
00:13:10I'm sorry.
00:13:11And when I say premature,
00:13:13I mean literal seconds.
00:13:15He was known as the
00:13:16one pump and dump
00:13:17on the streets
00:13:18and in the sheets
00:13:19if you're picking up
00:13:20what I'm laying down.
00:13:21It wasn't actually known as that.
00:13:22I just wanted to say that.
00:13:23So life was shitty
00:13:24for everyone involved
00:13:25at this point.
00:13:26Mostly being Rina.
00:13:28But things would get
00:13:28substantially worse
00:13:30when Rina gave birth
00:13:31to that other man's
00:13:32mixed child
00:13:33in March of 1963.
00:13:36And the baby
00:13:36ended up being a girl
00:13:37and they named her Charmaine.
00:13:40Now Fred was too embarrassed
00:13:41to have a mixed race baby.
00:13:43So he would convince
00:13:44everybody in their neighborhood
00:13:46that Rina's child
00:13:47was a stillborn
00:13:48and that they got Charmaine
00:13:50in replacement
00:13:51of the stillborn.
00:13:52So it wasn't his kid,
00:13:54which it wasn't
00:13:54in the first place.
00:13:55He just didn't want
00:13:56to be associated
00:13:56with having a wife
00:13:58that had another man's
00:13:59child basically.
00:14:00But Fred would still
00:14:01hate the child
00:14:02and end up leaving Rina
00:14:03for a new life
00:14:04in Glasgow anyway.
00:14:06So none of it
00:14:07really mattered.
00:14:08And in Glasgow,
00:14:09he would somehow manage
00:14:10to become an even
00:14:11creepier piece of shit
00:14:12driving around
00:14:13an ice cream truck van
00:14:15as a new job.
00:14:17Just, it's,
00:14:17he's just a stereotype
00:14:18at this point.
00:14:19It's like a movie.
00:14:20This is like a true
00:14:21horror movie, truly.
00:14:22And we're not even,
00:14:23we're not even scraping
00:14:24the surface yet.
00:14:25Just hold tight.
00:14:26And with this truck,
00:14:26he tried to pick up
00:14:28teenage girls
00:14:29to get with
00:14:30in the truck.
00:14:32And it is unconfirmed
00:14:33how many girls
00:14:34he got successfully
00:14:35into the truck.
00:14:37And it's unknown
00:14:37how many he,
00:14:39but we know that
00:14:40once he did get them
00:14:41into the truck,
00:14:42he most likely dismembered
00:14:44and murdered them
00:14:45from crimes we will see
00:14:47in the future.
00:14:48After Fred would get arrested
00:14:50for his crimes with Rose
00:14:51later in the future,
00:14:53police would trace him
00:14:54back to living in Glasgow.
00:14:55At the same time,
00:14:56four young girls
00:14:57fitting Fred's victim type
00:15:00went missing
00:15:00without a trace.
00:15:01So we can comfortably assume
00:15:03that he was responsible
00:15:05for that,
00:15:05but we don't know for sure.
00:15:07They would also find out
00:15:08that he had a garden plot
00:15:09in the community garden
00:15:10that he would demand
00:15:12be kept clear
00:15:13from everybody
00:15:13in the community
00:15:14for something special.
00:15:16That's something special
00:15:17most likely being
00:15:18the girls that he murdered.
00:15:20And we also can assume that
00:15:22because that's how
00:15:22he disposed of bodies
00:15:23in the future
00:15:24when he murdered girls
00:15:25with Rose West as well.
00:15:26And by the time police
00:15:27would find Fred's
00:15:28first victim,
00:15:29they could clearly see
00:15:31that he had murdered before
00:15:33so they could safely assume
00:15:35that he had murdered girls
00:15:36in Glasgow as well.
00:15:37But they couldn't check this
00:15:39because by the time
00:15:41they learned about
00:15:41these murders
00:15:42and about the garden
00:15:43that was in Glasgow,
00:15:44there was 13 lanes of traffic
00:15:46built over top
00:15:47of the garden.
00:15:48So we'll never know for sure.
00:15:49Now, unfortunately,
00:15:50Rena would eventually
00:15:52join Fred again in Scotland
00:15:53and shortly after that
00:15:54become pregnant
00:15:55with Fred's first child
00:15:57and she would give birth
00:15:58to another girl
00:15:59named Anne-Marie.
00:16:01This guy was getting
00:16:02bitches pregnant
00:16:02left and right,
00:16:03by the way.
00:16:04You'll see in the story,
00:16:04I can't even remember
00:16:06how many kids he has.
00:16:07At least 10.
00:16:08Eight?
00:16:09I don't know.
00:16:09I can't remember.
00:16:10We'll get to it.
00:16:11But it's insane.
00:16:12And Fred would also get
00:16:13two other women
00:16:14in Glasgow pregnant
00:16:15and have two sons
00:16:17named Stephen and Garrett.
00:16:18And we'll hear about
00:16:19these boys later
00:16:20in the story as well.
00:16:21And Rena wasn't much better.
00:16:22I mean, she wasn't
00:16:23killing people or anything,
00:16:24but she would go off
00:16:26and sleep with
00:16:26another bus driver.
00:16:28This woman had a thing
00:16:29for bus drivers.
00:16:29I don't know what to tell you.
00:16:30And she would temporarily
00:16:31leave Fred for John,
00:16:34the bus driver.
00:16:35But eventually,
00:16:35she would do
00:16:36what she always does
00:16:37and return back
00:16:38to her original
00:16:39shit-stained husband, Fred.
00:16:40And you're probably wondering
00:16:41what the hell Fred did
00:16:43with all these kids
00:16:44that were running around
00:16:45while he was off
00:16:45murdering people
00:16:46and trying to get people
00:16:47into his ice cream truck
00:16:48and whatnot.
00:16:49Well, he would just
00:16:50drop them off
00:16:51out of babysitters.
00:16:52Just kidding.
00:16:52He dropped them off
00:16:53at foster care
00:16:54for days to weeks on end.
00:16:56So he would go through
00:16:57the trouble
00:16:57of putting his kids
00:16:59into the system
00:17:00so he could get
00:17:01his knob wet
00:17:02for 2.5 seconds
00:17:03uninterrupted
00:17:04and then he'd go grab him
00:17:06when he felt like it.
00:17:07Dad of the year, truly.
00:17:09Rena would also hire
00:17:10a live-in nanny
00:17:11to help.
00:17:11And also so Fred,
00:17:13you know,
00:17:13wouldn't keep putting
00:17:14his kids into foster care
00:17:15because he was
00:17:16a lazy piece of shit.
00:17:17And this nanny
00:17:17was named Issa McNeil.
00:17:19And from what Issa claimed,
00:17:21Fred used to make
00:17:22his two daughters
00:17:23sleep in the bottom bunk
00:17:24where there was two slats
00:17:26that pinned them
00:17:27into a literal frame
00:17:29like animals
00:17:30and they would only
00:17:31be let out
00:17:32when he went to work.
00:17:33So they were literally
00:17:34treated worse than dogs.
00:17:36And again,
00:17:37it gets just so much worse.
00:17:39And eventually,
00:17:40Issa would introduce
00:17:41Rena to a 16-year-old
00:17:42runaway named Anna McFall.
00:17:44And she would actually
00:17:45move into Fred
00:17:46and Rena's house as well.
00:17:48And you'll see this
00:17:49become a pattern
00:17:50and a tactic
00:17:51Fred and Rose
00:17:52would use
00:17:52to gather people
00:17:53in the future
00:17:54and they would gather
00:17:55people like this
00:17:56that they liked
00:17:57and then eventually
00:17:57dispose of them.
00:17:58But we'll get to that.
00:17:59And it was also
00:18:00around this time
00:18:01that Anna moved in
00:18:02with Fred
00:18:02that Fred would
00:18:04accidentally run over
00:18:06a boy
00:18:07with his ice cream truck
00:18:08and kill him
00:18:09but not be charged
00:18:11because that was just
00:18:12a thing that happened.
00:18:14Enough for him
00:18:14to just not get charged
00:18:16which is crazy.
00:18:18But after this incident,
00:18:19he decided
00:18:20he wanted to go back
00:18:21to Much Markle.
00:18:23Much Markle?
00:18:23Muck Markle?
00:18:24I'm sorry if I'm
00:18:25saying that wrong.
00:18:25Muck Markle.
00:18:26Rena would follow
00:18:27in toll
00:18:27with her two kids
00:18:28and Issa and Anna.
00:18:30But they all
00:18:31would collectively
00:18:31at this point
00:18:32live in a caravan.
00:18:34So naturally
00:18:35things were always
00:18:36filthy and disgusting
00:18:38and tense
00:18:39to say the least.
00:18:40I couldn't even
00:18:40spend two hours
00:18:41in a van
00:18:42with my entire family.
00:18:43I can't imagine
00:18:44the hellhole
00:18:44that this caravan was.
00:18:46So in 1966,
00:18:47Fred got a job
00:18:48at a slaughterhouse.
00:18:50Yeah.
00:18:50But this job
00:18:51was to actually
00:18:52move product
00:18:53from one place
00:18:54to another
00:18:54so he wasn't
00:18:55actually slaughtering
00:18:56anything
00:18:57but he was.
00:18:58But he was.
00:18:59It just wasn't animals.
00:19:00And at this point
00:19:01he was pretty comfy
00:19:02moving dead bodies around
00:19:04if you know
00:19:04what I'm saying.
00:19:05So while Fred
00:19:05was working
00:19:06at the slaughterhouse,
00:19:07Rena made a plan
00:19:08to go back
00:19:08to Glasgow
00:19:09to be with
00:19:09bus driver John
00:19:11again.
00:19:11Taking the kids
00:19:12and the nannies
00:19:13with her.
00:19:13But Fred
00:19:14would come back
00:19:14to them packing up
00:19:15everything that evening
00:19:16and threaten
00:19:17to kill them
00:19:19if they did ditch him.
00:19:20So Rena
00:19:21being the protective
00:19:22devoted mother
00:19:23that she was
00:19:24packed up her shit
00:19:25and got the hell
00:19:26out of Dodge
00:19:27and just left
00:19:27her kids behind
00:19:28with a
00:19:29murdering Fred.
00:19:31Anyway,
00:19:31so Rena
00:19:32left with Issa
00:19:33the babysitter
00:19:34and the kids
00:19:34were left
00:19:35with Fred
00:19:35and Anna.
00:19:36Anna decided
00:19:37to stay back
00:19:38because she was
00:19:38you know
00:19:39responsible
00:19:40and wanted
00:19:40to take care
00:19:41of the kids
00:19:42because their mother
00:19:42just left
00:19:43to go bounce
00:19:44up and down
00:19:44on a bus driver's
00:19:45prindle.
00:19:46But unfortunately
00:19:47this would prove
00:19:48to be a fatal
00:19:49decision for Anna.
00:19:50See Anna
00:19:51was somehow
00:19:52infatuated
00:19:53with Fred.
00:19:54Reasons
00:19:55are which
00:19:55unknown
00:19:56because
00:19:57I don't know.
00:19:58But it was
00:19:58most likely
00:19:58because she
00:19:59developed
00:19:59some sort
00:20:00of Stockholm
00:20:01syndrome
00:20:01with Fred
00:20:02both fearing
00:20:03and wanting
00:20:03him to love
00:20:04her even
00:20:05though he
00:20:05did horrible
00:20:06things to her.
00:20:07And when Rena
00:20:08would end up
00:20:08coming back
00:20:09to get her
00:20:10children
00:20:10after she was
00:20:11done you know
00:20:11bouncing up
00:20:12and down
00:20:12on the bus
00:20:13driver's
00:20:13prindle
00:20:13she would
00:20:14find that
00:20:14Fred and Anna
00:20:15were actually
00:20:16together.
00:20:17But Fred
00:20:17would gather
00:20:18a whopping
00:20:19eight essay
00:20:20charges against
00:20:21other women
00:20:22during this
00:20:22two-year period
00:20:23so he wasn't
00:20:24exactly the
00:20:25faithful type.
00:20:26But I wouldn't
00:20:27expect anything
00:20:28less from
00:20:28you know
00:20:29a murdering
00:20:30asshole.
00:20:31And also
00:20:31years and years
00:20:32after Fred
00:20:33got caught
00:20:34investigators
00:20:35would take
00:20:35another look
00:20:36at Fred's
00:20:36case and
00:20:37find that
00:20:37essentially
00:20:38everywhere he
00:20:39went there
00:20:40was a trail
00:20:40of missing
00:20:41bodies or
00:20:42cold cases
00:20:42in his wake.
00:20:44So police
00:20:44are almost
00:20:45certain
00:20:46Fred alone
00:20:47killed dozens
00:20:48more women
00:20:48than we know.
00:20:49So in 1967
00:20:50Anna fell
00:20:51pregnant with
00:20:52another one
00:20:52of Fred's
00:20:53children.
00:20:54Oh and I
00:20:54forgot to
00:20:55mention she's
00:20:5517.
00:20:56She's 17
00:20:57at this point.
00:20:57He loves
00:20:58getting children
00:20:59pregnant which
00:20:59is just
00:21:00terrible.
00:21:01And at this
00:21:01time he was
00:21:02around 26
00:21:03or 27.
00:21:04And speaking
00:21:04of crimes
00:21:05Anna would
00:21:05up and
00:21:06disappear in
00:21:07the summer
00:21:07of 1967.
00:21:09And Fred
00:21:10wouldn't be
00:21:10asked about it
00:21:11really because
00:21:12she was a
00:21:13runaway if you
00:21:13remember.
00:21:14And nobody
00:21:15really took
00:21:15notice or
00:21:16cared about
00:21:17runaways at
00:21:18that time.
00:21:18But her
00:21:18body would
00:21:19be discovered
00:21:20in 1994
00:21:2127 years
00:21:23later in
00:21:23Finger Post
00:21:24Field almost
00:21:25surgically
00:21:26dismembered with
00:21:27the head being
00:21:28detached from
00:21:29her body along
00:21:29with her limbs.
00:21:30And it was
00:21:31almost certainly
00:21:32not Fred's
00:21:33first kill.
00:21:34Fred also at
00:21:35some point had
00:21:35cut the unborn
00:21:36child out of
00:21:38Anna as well
00:21:39after death.
00:21:39Fred would
00:21:40confess that he
00:21:41would dismember
00:21:42their bodies
00:21:42because it
00:21:43made it easier
00:21:44to bury them
00:21:45in a more
00:21:46shallow grave.
00:21:47So he's not
00:21:47only a murdering
00:21:48piece of shit
00:21:49he's also a
00:21:50lazy piece of
00:21:51shit.
00:21:52In murdering
00:21:52and then dismembering
00:21:53the bodies as
00:21:54well he would
00:21:55also slice off
00:21:56the corpses
00:21:56fingers, toes,
00:21:58ankles, wrists
00:21:59and kneecaps.
00:22:01Although he would
00:22:02claim it was to
00:22:03make it harder
00:22:04to identify the
00:22:05bodies for the
00:22:06police if they
00:22:06ever found them
00:22:07police believe he
00:22:08just kept them
00:22:09for himself as
00:22:10trophies or
00:22:11possibly to
00:22:13consume.
00:22:13So Anna now
00:22:14being out of the
00:22:15picture and
00:22:16Rena growing tired
00:22:17of the bus
00:22:17driver, Rena
00:22:18decided to come
00:22:19back to Fred
00:22:20and start a new
00:22:21job.
00:22:22A job Fred very
00:22:23much encouraged
00:22:24her to do and
00:22:25that was to be a
00:22:26lady of the night
00:22:27if you know what
00:22:28I mean.
00:22:28Fred loved that
00:22:29Rena got into
00:22:30this kind of
00:22:31work.
00:22:32He was like a
00:22:32sick little 15
00:22:34year old school
00:22:35boy that liked to
00:22:36show off his
00:22:36girlfriend's nudes
00:22:37to his friends.
00:22:38He just loved to
00:22:39show all of her
00:22:40off to everyone
00:22:41that would look
00:22:42basically.
00:22:43And it was around
00:22:43this time that
00:22:44Fred picked up a
00:22:45girl named Mary
00:22:46Bastam and he
00:22:48would kill her.
00:22:49This would be a
00:22:49murder that Fred
00:22:50would confess to
00:22:51to his son
00:22:52Stephen after his
00:22:53arrest but the
00:22:54body was never
00:22:55found so he was
00:22:56never charged for
00:22:57it.
00:22:57Which also begs
00:22:58the question how
00:23:00many bodies did
00:23:00we not know about
00:23:01and it could be in
00:23:03the dozens.
00:23:04But shortly
00:23:04getting back with
00:23:05Rena, Fred somehow
00:23:06being the ladies
00:23:08man that he is
00:23:09found his one
00:23:10true love, his
00:23:11partner in crime,
00:23:13his match made
00:23:14in hell, the
00:23:14woman he'd create
00:23:15a murderous
00:23:16homemade dungeon
00:23:17with, Rose
00:23:18Pauline Letts.
00:23:20Now Rose Letts was
00:23:21born on November
00:23:2229th, 1953 in
00:23:24Northam, Devon,
00:23:26England to
00:23:26William Letts and
00:23:27Daisy Fuller.
00:23:29Yes, Rose and
00:23:29Fred both had
00:23:30mothers named
00:23:31Daisy but just
00:23:32like Fred's
00:23:33mother, Rose's
00:23:34mother Daisy was
00:23:35not so sweet as
00:23:36her name proclaimed.
00:23:38Rose's mother in
00:23:39fact suffered from
00:23:40postpartum depression
00:23:41after having four
00:23:43children and she
00:23:44would go on to
00:23:45have seven children
00:23:46in total but to
00:23:47cure her PPD
00:23:48doctors prescribed
00:23:50her electroconvulsive
00:23:52therapy.
00:23:53Therapy so intense
00:23:54that teeth would
00:23:55literally shatter out
00:23:56of patients mouths.
00:23:58Pretty sure that
00:23:58would cure you
00:23:59because all you
00:24:00could think about
00:24:01was the pain
00:24:02instead of your
00:24:03depression.
00:24:03But I digress.
00:24:04When Daisy was
00:24:05pregnant with Rose
00:24:06the doctors convinced
00:24:07her to continue
00:24:08these electroconvulsive
00:24:10therapy sessions.
00:24:12So Rose was
00:24:12literally just being
00:24:13microwaved in the
00:24:15womb and as a
00:24:16result of that
00:24:17Rose's brain was
00:24:18essentially being
00:24:19fried in utero.
00:24:21Shout out to
00:24:21Nirvana.
00:24:21Now did this make
00:24:23Rose a psychotic
00:24:24narcissistic murderer
00:24:26that she became?
00:24:28No.
00:24:28But it definitely
00:24:29played a small part
00:24:31in her brain not
00:24:32developing to its
00:24:33full potential.
00:24:34So having a not
00:24:35so premium brain
00:24:36coupled with the
00:24:37fact that she
00:24:37lived with literal
00:24:38monsters helped
00:24:40in facilitating who
00:24:41she became later
00:24:42in life.
00:24:42One of the bigger
00:24:43factors being
00:24:44meeting Fred.
00:24:45So as a child
00:24:46Rose was known
00:24:47to have a very
00:24:48dull empty
00:24:49doe-eyed look
00:24:50at her eyes.
00:24:51The 30-yard stare
00:24:52if you will.
00:24:53So her siblings
00:24:54would naturally
00:24:55make fun of her
00:24:56and call her
00:24:57Dozy Rosie
00:24:58which I think is
00:24:58actually a cute
00:24:59nickname for a
00:25:00terrible terrible
00:25:01human being.
00:25:02I hate this woman
00:25:03more than anything
00:25:03and you'll see.
00:25:04You'll see down the
00:25:05line.
00:25:05So Rose would
00:25:06naturally spend
00:25:06most of her time
00:25:07alone with her
00:25:08six hamsters.
00:25:10Who the f***
00:25:11has six hamsters?
00:25:12I don't know.
00:25:12Whatever.
00:25:12But what screwed
00:25:13up Rose most
00:25:14as a child
00:25:15was her piece
00:25:16of s*** father
00:25:17William Letts.
00:25:18Now William
00:25:18was a schizophrenic
00:25:20diagnosed at a
00:25:21very young age
00:25:22and would
00:25:23constantly suffer
00:25:24from severe
00:25:25psychotic episodes
00:25:26in front of his
00:25:27family and on
00:25:28his own.
00:25:28But he would
00:25:29just not tell
00:25:30him that he
00:25:31was schizophrenic
00:25:32he just kept
00:25:32that to himself
00:25:33so the family
00:25:34literally just
00:25:35thought he was
00:25:36genuinely just
00:25:38a psychopath
00:25:38because they
00:25:39didn't know
00:25:40about his
00:25:40condition.
00:25:41But diagnosis
00:25:41aside Will
00:25:43was an absolute
00:25:44piece of s***
00:25:44like I was
00:25:45saying.
00:25:45He would
00:25:45often beat
00:25:46his children
00:25:47throwing them
00:25:48against walls
00:25:48beating them
00:25:49with poles
00:25:50and even pouring
00:25:51boiling water
00:25:52over their skin
00:25:53because unlike
00:25:54Fred's family
00:25:55who were
00:25:56extremely filthy
00:25:57Rose's dad
00:25:59was extremely
00:26:00OCD
00:26:00and wanted
00:26:01to keep
00:26:02everything clean
00:26:02at all times
00:26:03so he made
00:26:04them do chores
00:26:05if they didn't
00:26:05do it right
00:26:05they got beat
00:26:06to an inch
00:26:07of their life
00:26:07or they
00:26:08were cleaned
00:26:09constantly
00:26:10with boiling
00:26:11water that
00:26:12would leave
00:26:12welts on
00:26:12their skin
00:26:13etc.
00:26:14But he would
00:26:15not treat
00:26:15Rose the same
00:26:16way.
00:26:17In fact Rose
00:26:17would play
00:26:18dumb a lot
00:26:19and whine
00:26:20and say that
00:26:20she doesn't
00:26:21want to do
00:26:21her chores
00:26:21and she would
00:26:22end up getting
00:26:22her siblings
00:26:23to somehow
00:26:24do her chores
00:26:24and Will
00:26:25was actually
00:26:25very amused
00:26:26by that
00:26:27but it's not
00:26:28all sunshine
00:26:28and rainbows
00:26:29it wasn't
00:26:29necessarily a good
00:26:30thing that he
00:26:31favored Rose
00:26:32because despite
00:26:33not getting
00:26:34physically beat
00:26:35by her father
00:26:36she was allegedly
00:26:37a victim of
00:26:38SA from her
00:26:39father
00:26:39which is terrible
00:26:40and I hope
00:26:41he is rotting
00:26:42in hell
00:26:42but it does not
00:26:44remotely excuse
00:26:45what she did
00:26:46later on in life.
00:26:47Now as Rose
00:26:47grew up
00:26:48she became
00:26:48somewhat of a
00:26:50mini psychopath
00:26:51that lied
00:26:52bullied
00:26:52and became
00:26:53violent
00:26:54towards boys
00:26:55and girls
00:26:56and she would
00:26:56become hypersexual
00:26:58as soon as
00:26:59she hit puberty
00:26:59which is not
00:27:00uncommon for
00:27:01people that
00:27:01experience
00:27:02SA as a child
00:27:04and she would
00:27:04even go as far
00:27:05as to commit
00:27:06SA on her
00:27:08own younger
00:27:09brothers
00:27:09by the time
00:27:10she was just
00:27:1115 years old.
00:27:12So seeing some
00:27:13similarities here
00:27:14between Rose
00:27:15and Fred's
00:27:16upbringing
00:27:16between the
00:27:17brain injuries
00:27:18SA victim
00:27:19history
00:27:19and SA
00:27:20perpetual history
00:27:21them committing
00:27:22it against
00:27:23other people
00:27:24you can kind
00:27:25of see
00:27:25how they
00:27:26were a
00:27:26match made
00:27:27in hell.
00:27:27So by the
00:27:27time Rose
00:27:28was 15
00:27:29she was
00:27:30doing
00:27:30regular
00:27:31sexual work
00:27:32at a
00:27:33local bus
00:27:34stop
00:27:34and this
00:27:35is when
00:27:35she would
00:27:35inevitably
00:27:36meet
00:27:36Fred
00:27:37of whom
00:27:38was about
00:27:3827 years
00:27:40old at
00:27:40this time
00:27:41and she
00:27:41was only
00:27:4215
00:27:42so
00:27:43he's got
00:27:44a pattern
00:27:44here
00:27:44and us
00:27:45knowing
00:27:45Fred
00:27:46now
00:27:46he almost
00:27:46certainly
00:27:47sought her
00:27:48out as
00:27:48a victim
00:27:49of SA
00:27:49and most
00:27:50likely murder
00:27:51but they
00:27:51would start
00:27:52talking
00:27:52and immediately
00:27:53hit it off
00:27:54because they
00:27:55found so many
00:27:56things in
00:27:56common
00:27:57whether it be
00:27:57that their
00:27:58mothers had
00:27:59the same
00:27:59name
00:28:00or that they
00:28:01had similar
00:28:01family history
00:28:02Rose worked
00:28:03at a bakery
00:28:04and Fred
00:28:05had an ice cream
00:28:06truck so that's
00:28:07that's sweet
00:28:07and you know
00:28:08that they're both
00:28:08pieces of shit
00:28:09so they would
00:28:10they would
00:28:10hit it off
00:28:11but what Fred
00:28:12would like
00:28:12most about
00:28:13Rose is that
00:28:14she was just
00:28:14as if not
00:28:15even more so
00:28:16sigual
00:28:17than Fred
00:28:18when Fred
00:28:19would bring
00:28:19up very
00:28:20crude
00:28:20and vulgar
00:28:21topics
00:28:22Rose wouldn't
00:28:22flinch
00:28:23at all
00:28:23in fact
00:28:24even add
00:28:25on to it
00:28:25so he saw
00:28:26the potential
00:28:27immediately
00:28:28so Fred
00:28:28and Rose
00:28:29would hit
00:28:29it off
00:28:30and Rose
00:28:31would bring
00:28:31the 12
00:28:32year older
00:28:32Fred
00:28:33back home
00:28:34to meet
00:28:34her parents
00:28:35and her
00:28:35parents
00:28:36naturally
00:28:36hated
00:28:37Fred
00:28:37because
00:28:38but Rose
00:28:40would try
00:28:40to sell
00:28:40him off
00:28:41as that
00:28:41he was
00:28:42very rich
00:28:42and he
00:28:42was very
00:28:43successful
00:28:44but the
00:28:44only thing
00:28:45he was rich
00:28:45and full
00:28:46of was
00:28:46shit
00:28:47so after
00:28:47meeting
00:28:48Fred
00:28:48Bill
00:28:48and Daisy
00:28:49would put
00:28:50their daughter
00:28:50Rose
00:28:51into a
00:28:51home
00:28:52for troubled
00:28:52teenagers
00:28:53because
00:28:54parenting
00:28:54in the
00:28:54house
00:28:55is
00:28:55too hard
00:28:56apparently
00:28:56and they
00:28:57would just
00:28:57forget her
00:28:58there
00:28:58classic
00:28:59middle
00:28:59child
00:28:59trope
00:29:00so Rose
00:29:00would spend
00:29:01months
00:29:01in the
00:29:02home
00:29:02until she
00:29:02turned 16
00:29:03and 16
00:29:04year olds
00:29:05at that
00:29:05point
00:29:05were considered
00:29:06adults
00:29:06and they
00:29:07wouldn't
00:29:07be able
00:29:07to be
00:29:08in a
00:29:08troubled
00:29:09teenager
00:29:10home
00:29:10anymore
00:29:10but who
00:29:11was ready
00:29:11to come
00:29:12swoop her
00:29:12up off
00:29:13her feet
00:29:13the 12
00:29:14year older
00:29:15Fred
00:29:15and shortly
00:29:16after picking
00:29:17her up
00:29:17he would
00:29:17get Rose
00:29:18pregnant
00:29:19and they
00:29:19would move
00:29:19into a
00:29:20building
00:29:20in Gloucester
00:29:21at 25
00:29:22Middlin Road
00:29:23there Fred
00:29:24and Rose
00:29:25would live
00:29:25with Fred's
00:29:26child Anne
00:29:26Marie
00:29:27and Rena's
00:29:28child
00:29:28Charmaine
00:29:29so on
00:29:29October
00:29:301970
00:29:31Rose
00:29:31gave birth
00:29:32to her
00:29:32first
00:29:33of eight
00:29:33children
00:29:34like god damn
00:29:35by eight
00:29:35they're probably
00:29:36walking out
00:29:36with a top hat
00:29:37twirling a cane
00:29:38but her firstborn
00:29:40was named
00:29:40Heather Anne
00:29:41and when she
00:29:42was born
00:29:42Fred would be
00:29:43back in jail
00:29:45for about three
00:29:46months because
00:29:46he had gone in
00:29:47and out of jail
00:29:48for very
00:29:48minor charges
00:29:50but this would be
00:29:51at this point
00:29:52the longest stint
00:29:53he had been in jail
00:29:54and it was for
00:29:54stealing five car tires
00:29:56from his place of work
00:29:57so Rose being 17 years old
00:29:59and taking care of
00:30:00three children
00:30:01two of which
00:30:02were not her own
00:30:03and being a child
00:30:05herself
00:30:05shit started to hit
00:30:06the fan fast
00:30:07at home
00:30:08Rose would be seen
00:30:09by a child neighbor
00:30:10beating Charmaine
00:30:12with a wooden spoon
00:30:13as she tied Charmaine's
00:30:15hands up
00:30:15by a belt
00:30:16and hung her
00:30:18from the roof
00:30:18while she stood
00:30:19barely on a chair
00:30:20and at other times
00:30:21the children would
00:30:22show up to
00:30:23emergency rooms
00:30:24with literal
00:30:25stab wounds
00:30:26but Rose would just
00:30:27explain them away
00:30:28somehow
00:30:29Fred on the other hand
00:30:31was having a gay old
00:30:32time in jail
00:30:33just writing
00:30:33dirty letters
00:30:34back and forth
00:30:35with Rose
00:30:36on the daily
00:30:37so while Rose
00:30:38was beating her kids
00:30:39and Fred was
00:30:40getting off in jail
00:30:41Rose took it upon herself
00:30:42to commit her first murder
00:30:44and that murder
00:30:45was committed
00:30:46against a child
00:30:47and this is what's
00:30:48interesting about
00:30:49this couple
00:30:49specifically
00:30:50when you see
00:30:51other serial killer
00:30:52couples
00:30:52usually
00:30:53the man
00:30:54is the dominant
00:30:55one
00:30:56that usually
00:30:57convinces
00:30:58the partner
00:30:59their female partner
00:31:00to commit the crimes
00:31:01but
00:31:02this couple
00:31:03on their own
00:31:04were murderers
00:31:05so
00:31:06and in fact
00:31:06Rose was
00:31:07the instigator
00:31:09in a lot of situations
00:31:10so they both
00:31:11had committed crimes
00:31:12unprovoked
00:31:13by the other
00:31:13and this is just
00:31:14another thing
00:31:15that they would
00:31:16see in common
00:31:16with each other
00:31:17and love each other
00:31:18more for
00:31:19so one day
00:31:20Rose took her children
00:31:21Charmaine and Anne-Marie
00:31:23to see Fred
00:31:24in prison
00:31:24for a visit
00:31:25and after their visit
00:31:26we don't know
00:31:27why
00:31:28but Rose
00:31:29would beat
00:31:30and stab
00:31:30Charmaine
00:31:31to death
00:31:32and she would
00:31:33put her corpse
00:31:34in the building cellar
00:31:35and wouldn't tell Fred
00:31:36until he was
00:31:38released
00:31:38from jail
00:31:39a few weeks later
00:31:40and Fred
00:31:41being the piece
00:31:42of shit
00:31:42he is
00:31:43was completely
00:31:44unfazed
00:31:45at all
00:31:45that Rose
00:31:46had killed
00:31:47his daughter
00:31:47in fact
00:31:48he would
00:31:49go on
00:31:49to gush
00:31:50about
00:31:50some of
00:31:51the murders
00:31:51that he had
00:31:52committed
00:31:52in the past
00:31:53this was
00:31:53essentially
00:31:53just a
00:31:54f***ed up
00:31:55bonding moment
00:31:55between two
00:31:56psychopaths
00:31:57at this time
00:31:57so after Fred
00:31:58found out
00:31:59where Rose
00:32:00put Charmaine's
00:32:01body
00:32:01he would
00:32:02cut off
00:32:02her fingers
00:32:03toes
00:32:03knees
00:32:04caps
00:32:04ankles
00:32:04and wrist
00:32:05as he did
00:32:06with the other
00:32:06victims
00:32:07and he would
00:32:07move it
00:32:08into the yard
00:32:09and bury it
00:32:10near the back door
00:32:11with the idea
00:32:12in mind
00:32:12of extending
00:32:13the house
00:32:14out later
00:32:14and layering
00:32:15the body
00:32:16with a concrete
00:32:16foundation
00:32:17which is
00:32:18something that
00:32:18he did do
00:32:19shortly after
00:32:20now not long
00:32:21after Fred
00:32:21had buried
00:32:22and covered up
00:32:23Rose's murder
00:32:24Rose would leave
00:32:25Fred temporarily
00:32:26and good old
00:32:27Rena
00:32:27Fred's first wife
00:32:29would come back
00:32:30into the picture
00:32:30trying to gain
00:32:31custody of her
00:32:32two children
00:32:33Charmaine
00:32:33and Anne-Marie
00:32:34but naturally
00:32:35one was missing
00:32:36and that was
00:32:37Charmaine
00:32:37so naturally
00:32:38Rena was flipping out
00:32:40asking where her
00:32:41daughter was
00:32:41and Fred played it
00:32:42off saying
00:32:43okay you know
00:32:44come in my car
00:32:44I'll take you
00:32:46to where she is
00:32:46right now
00:32:47so Rena hopped
00:32:48in her car
00:32:48and Fred
00:32:49immediately
00:32:50would kill her
00:32:52by shoving a
00:32:53length of
00:32:54chromium tubing
00:32:55down her throat
00:32:56and that was just
00:32:57a horrendous way
00:32:58to go
00:32:59after reading that
00:33:00I had to like
00:33:01take five minutes
00:33:02just to process that
00:33:03this man is
00:33:04sick
00:33:05like just a
00:33:06sick psychopath
00:33:06and I hope he's
00:33:07burning in hell
00:33:08and I just
00:33:08anyway
00:33:09so after he
00:33:10murdered her
00:33:10he would dismember
00:33:11the body
00:33:12and keep his
00:33:13usual body parts
00:33:14as trophies
00:33:15and would bury her
00:33:16at Finger Post Field
00:33:18near the grave
00:33:19of Anne McFall
00:33:20his previous victim
00:33:21and neither
00:33:22Charmaine's
00:33:22nor Rena's
00:33:24disappearances
00:33:24would be noticed
00:33:26given both their
00:33:26track records
00:33:27and it would go
00:33:28unnoticed
00:33:29for another
00:33:2913 years
00:33:31so after these events
00:33:32Rose would return
00:33:33and she would turn 18
00:33:35allowing her
00:33:35to legally marry Fred
00:33:37and that is when
00:33:38they would move
00:33:38into their infamous
00:33:40murder house
00:33:41of horrors
00:33:4125 Cromwell Street
00:33:43and this would be
00:33:44the house
00:33:44that Rose and Fred
00:33:46would build
00:33:46their torture
00:33:47and kill dungeon
00:33:48that looked
00:33:48and became
00:33:49something straight
00:33:50out of a horror movie
00:33:51so the house
00:33:52at 25 Cromwell Street
00:33:54was three stories
00:33:55an attic
00:33:55and a cellar
00:33:57and Fred and Rose
00:33:58would move in
00:33:58with their two
00:33:59surviving children
00:34:00Anne and Heather
00:34:02and right out the gate
00:34:03Fred and Rose
00:34:03planned to expand
00:34:04and renovate the cellar
00:34:06to be their
00:34:06personal play place
00:34:08but the crazy thing
00:34:09about the Cromwell house
00:34:11was that
00:34:11they weren't the only ones
00:34:13that lived there
00:34:13there were other tenants
00:34:15that lived there as well
00:34:16the Wests live on the first floor
00:34:18and they had the cellar
00:34:19and there would be tenants
00:34:21that took up the second
00:34:22and the third floors
00:34:23so the Wests moved in
00:34:25and quickly
00:34:25Rose began to do
00:34:27sedual work again
00:34:28in the cellar
00:34:29at Fred's request
00:34:31because this was a win-win
00:34:32for both of them
00:34:33Rose was a sick
00:34:34psychotic
00:34:35sociopathic
00:34:36nymphomaniac
00:34:37and Fred was a giant
00:34:39and liked to watch
00:34:41Rose have relations
00:34:42with other people
00:34:43among many other things
00:34:45of which we'll talk about
00:34:46so they would dub
00:34:47the cellar room
00:34:48as mom and dad's room
00:34:50and there would be
00:34:50a plaque on the wall
00:34:51with Rose's name on it
00:34:53which sounds sweet
00:34:54doesn't it
00:34:55but no
00:34:55it was just to cover up
00:34:56the hole that Fred
00:34:57would look through
00:34:58to watch Rose
00:35:00commit unspeakable acts
00:35:01to other men and women
00:35:03but Rose was well aware of this
00:35:04it just was the strangers
00:35:06having relations with her
00:35:07that weren't
00:35:07Fred and Rose
00:35:08would also partake
00:35:09in threesomes
00:35:10pretty often
00:35:11because Rose claimed
00:35:12that she was bisexual
00:35:13so they would often
00:35:15pick up these women
00:35:16in Gloucester
00:35:17and bring them back
00:35:18to the Cromwell house
00:35:19most of these women
00:35:20being runaways
00:35:21and drifters
00:35:22and this was their
00:35:23pattern that they did
00:35:24they would go out
00:35:25in a car
00:35:25and it was easy
00:35:26for Rose to lure women
00:35:27into the car
00:35:28because Fred had trouble
00:35:29doing that on his own
00:35:30but when you have
00:35:31a female companion
00:35:32it just seems less threatening
00:35:33and we see this time
00:35:34and time again
00:35:35with couples
00:35:36or even with
00:35:37previous serial killers
00:35:38that I've talked about
00:35:39where it's a man
00:35:40and they get a child
00:35:41to help them lure
00:35:42etc
00:35:43so they would use
00:35:43this tactic
00:35:44and it would work
00:35:45very well
00:35:46but at this point
00:35:46they're not killing
00:35:47anybody together
00:35:48they were only using
00:35:49the dungeon
00:35:50as a civil room
00:35:52but they would evolve
00:35:52and test it out
00:35:54as a torture room
00:35:55soon after
00:35:57and they would do that
00:35:58using their own daughter
00:36:00so they would bring in
00:36:01Anne-Marie
00:36:02and they would bring her
00:36:03down to the cellar
00:36:04and Rose would hold her down
00:36:06and Fred did
00:36:07the unspeakable
00:36:08to his own daughter
00:36:10and then Fred would proceed
00:36:11to remove her hymen
00:36:13and collect it into a bowl
00:36:15for reasons unknown
00:36:16probably just because
00:36:18he was a sick
00:36:18and I hope he dies in hell
00:36:20and rots there forever
00:36:21but most people
00:36:23and professionals
00:36:24assume that Fred
00:36:25was actually a cannibal
00:36:26given all the body parts
00:36:28that he kept
00:36:29and that were never found
00:36:30but that was never
00:36:31actually proven
00:36:32so that's just speculation
00:36:34but I think it's pretty
00:36:35fair
00:36:35safe to say
00:36:36but the torture with Anne
00:36:38would not stop there
00:36:39shortly after the first incident
00:36:41Fred would make
00:36:41a u-shaped metal bar
00:36:43with two handles on it
00:36:44at his place of work
00:36:45and bring it down
00:36:46to the cellar
00:36:47at 25 Cromwell
00:36:48and hook it up
00:36:49and shortly after that
00:36:51would bring Anne down
00:36:52and tie her to this device
00:36:54and Rose and Fred
00:36:55would take turns
00:36:56torturing her
00:36:57for an entire day
00:36:59and to add salt
00:37:00to the wound
00:37:01literally
00:37:01Rose would draw her
00:37:03a bath
00:37:03at the end of the day
00:37:04and she would pour
00:37:05hordes of salt in it
00:37:07so that Anne's open wounds
00:37:09would burn
00:37:09when she got into the bath
00:37:11and all the crimes
00:37:12and horrendous acts
00:37:13we are going to talk about
00:37:15can't be covered completely
00:37:17can't like
00:37:18I can't go through
00:37:19all the details
00:37:20this video would literally
00:37:21be like 24 hours long
00:37:23if I got into
00:37:24all the minute details
00:37:25that took place
00:37:26in that cellar
00:37:27the amount of torture
00:37:28and abuse
00:37:29that went on
00:37:29in that house
00:37:30is exponential
00:37:31it's insane
00:37:33so I'm going to try to
00:37:35you know
00:37:36glaze over everything
00:37:37just give you
00:37:38all the knowledge
00:37:38but not go into
00:37:39every single detail
00:37:41because I honestly
00:37:41don't want to
00:37:42so shortly after
00:37:43these incidents
00:37:44Rose would give birth
00:37:45to her second child
00:37:46and let me tell you
00:37:47you're gonna lose track
00:37:48of how many kids
00:37:49pop out of this bitch
00:37:50all right
00:37:51there's a lot
00:37:51but let's talk about
00:37:52the tenants
00:37:53that lived on 25 Cromwell
00:37:55so for the most part
00:37:56they were all young men
00:37:57at least at the start
00:37:59and for the most part
00:38:00those young men
00:38:00were railing Rose
00:38:02so it was quite literally
00:38:03a tacky corn video
00:38:05around every corner
00:38:06of this house
00:38:07and the kids would
00:38:08just be walking around
00:38:09they'd either be in the room
00:38:10or in a different room
00:38:11when this was taking place
00:38:13Rose would even walk around
00:38:14scantily clad
00:38:15to seduce the tenants
00:38:17on a regular basis
00:38:18this house was
00:38:19essentially a brothel
00:38:21at this point
00:38:22with Rose being
00:38:22the only person
00:38:23that worked there
00:38:24so since there was
00:38:25so much tomfoolery
00:38:26going on in this household
00:38:28the West had to hire
00:38:29another nanny
00:38:30a 17 year old
00:38:31named Caroline Owens
00:38:33working for
00:38:34three pounds a week
00:38:35three pounds
00:38:36I don't think that's a lot
00:38:37I know it's a different time
00:38:38but that doesn't seem
00:38:39like enough
00:38:39and Caroline
00:38:40hated Fred
00:38:41especially
00:38:42because you know
00:38:43he's a creepy piece of shit
00:38:45so naturally
00:38:45after only a few weeks
00:38:47of working for Fred and Rose
00:38:48Caroline decided
00:38:49to get the hell out of Dodge
00:38:50but Rose was mad
00:38:52because she hadn't gotten
00:38:53to have relations
00:38:54with her yet
00:38:55oh
00:38:56and knowing that Caroline
00:38:57wouldn't want to be
00:38:59any part of that
00:38:59Rose conducted a plan
00:39:01with Fred
00:39:01to kidnap her
00:39:03and grape her
00:39:05knowing full well
00:39:06the endeavor
00:39:06would almost certainly
00:39:07end in murder
00:39:09so on December 6, 1972
00:39:11Fred and Rose
00:39:12followed and confronted
00:39:14Caroline in their car
00:39:15and they would convince her
00:39:16to get in
00:39:17and Rose would try
00:39:18to make advances
00:39:19towards Caroline
00:39:20but she would refuse
00:39:21and after she refused
00:39:23Fred would begin
00:39:24to beat her unconscious
00:39:25and by the time
00:39:27Caroline woke up
00:39:28she was being bound
00:39:29by her wrist and ankles
00:39:30and also getting
00:39:31brown packing tape
00:39:32wrapped around her head
00:39:34and she could hear Rose
00:39:35laughing maniacally
00:39:36in the background
00:39:37and you will find
00:39:38that this is a pattern
00:39:39as well
00:39:39Rose took extreme pleasure
00:39:41in Fred doing
00:39:43these things to the girls
00:39:44and in Rose doing it
00:39:45to them herself
00:39:46she was literally
00:39:48a sociopath
00:39:48so Fred and Rose
00:39:50would take her back
00:39:50to 25 Cromwell
00:39:51and take her down
00:39:52to the cellar
00:39:53where she was bound
00:39:54and gagged
00:39:54for two days
00:39:56after which Fred
00:39:57would come down
00:39:58and come to her
00:39:59crying
00:39:59and asking Caroline
00:40:01if she'd still
00:40:02want to be their nanny
00:40:03and Caroline
00:40:04obviously seeing
00:40:05a way out
00:40:06said yes
00:40:06and agreed to be
00:40:07their nanny
00:40:08but only a couple
00:40:09weeks later
00:40:10when she found an out
00:40:11while they were
00:40:11walking to a local
00:40:13laundromat
00:40:13with the kids
00:40:14she would sprint
00:40:15to her mom's house
00:40:16and tell her
00:40:17everything that happened
00:40:18so after this
00:40:19Caroline's parents
00:40:20would go to Rose
00:40:21and confront her
00:40:22about everything
00:40:23that Caroline told them
00:40:24and Rose would just say
00:40:25don't be f***ing daft
00:40:27who do you f***ing daft?
00:40:27who do you f***ing call I am?
00:40:29that's how she talked
00:40:29terrible
00:40:30but police would search
00:40:32their car
00:40:32and find tape
00:40:34and f***ing photos
00:40:35and that was enough
00:40:36to arrest
00:40:37and detain them
00:40:38temporarily
00:40:39so Rose and Fred
00:40:40would admit to
00:40:41just a little
00:40:42physical assault
00:40:43and when it came
00:40:44time for Caroline
00:40:45to tell her side
00:40:46of the story
00:40:46to police
00:40:47and get it on record
00:40:48she got nervous
00:40:49and scared
00:40:50and didn't want
00:40:51to relive the events
00:40:52so she backed out
00:40:53leaving Fred and Rose
00:40:54with minimal assault charges
00:40:56with the police report
00:40:57saying about Fred
00:40:58he's a docile sort
00:41:00who did not look like
00:41:02he could commit violence
00:41:03what?
00:41:04you don't think
00:41:05this can commit violence?
00:41:07so at this point
00:41:08Rose was pregnant
00:41:09with her third child
00:41:11and Fred had
00:41:12minimal past theft charges
00:41:14so the police
00:41:15agreed to let them off
00:41:16with a 25 pound fine
00:41:19and they'd just be set free
00:41:21judicial system
00:41:22you know
00:41:23and this whole ordeal
00:41:24would just teach
00:41:25Fred and Rose
00:41:26that they could not
00:41:27leave any witnesses behind
00:41:29so this is when
00:41:30they would start
00:41:31their killing spree
00:41:32so it would be
00:41:33nine years
00:41:34until they would be
00:41:35in any sort of
00:41:37other police investigation
00:41:38looking into Rose
00:41:40and Fred West
00:41:41and nine women
00:41:42would end up dead
00:41:43and buried
00:41:44at 25 Cromwell Street
00:41:45as a result
00:41:46but the true number
00:41:47of victims
00:41:48is thought to be
00:41:49upwards of 30
00:41:50but at this time
00:41:51it was essentially
00:41:52if there's no bodies
00:41:54you can't be charged
00:41:55for it
00:41:55so Linda Guff
00:41:57would be their first victim
00:41:58they killed together
00:41:59from what we know
00:42:00a 20 year old
00:42:01that agreed to
00:42:02babysit their kids
00:42:03for them
00:42:03but on April 19th
00:42:051973
00:42:06Linda would disappear
00:42:07the only thing
00:42:08being left behind
00:42:09was a note
00:42:10for her mother
00:42:11saying that she
00:42:12got a flat
00:42:12on the way home
00:42:13and that she'd be back
00:42:14sometime in the future
00:42:16this note
00:42:16obviously being written
00:42:18by Rose
00:42:18which she did
00:42:20multiple times
00:42:20with multiple victims
00:42:22to keep them at bay
00:42:23so they wouldn't
00:42:24make a report
00:42:25of their children missing
00:42:26but in reality
00:42:27Linda was taken down
00:42:28to the cellar
00:42:29of 25 Cromwell
00:42:31having her entire head
00:42:32wrapped tightly
00:42:33in packing tape
00:42:34and being given
00:42:35only a tiny tube
00:42:37to breathe through
00:42:37that would be
00:42:38my worst goddamn nightmare
00:42:40these people
00:42:40are just sick
00:42:42now we don't know
00:42:42exactly how Linda died
00:42:44whether it was during
00:42:45the sexual torture
00:42:47or just being killed
00:42:48on purpose
00:42:49at the end
00:42:49of them torturing her
00:42:50but she would die
00:42:52and Fred would dismember
00:42:53and take his trophies
00:42:55as he always did
00:42:56and then they would
00:42:57bury her
00:42:58beneath the garage
00:42:59at 25 Cromwell
00:43:00in what he called
00:43:01the inspection pit
00:43:03where they could
00:43:03hide the pit
00:43:05with a car
00:43:05over top of it
00:43:06a few weeks later
00:43:07Linda's mother
00:43:08would come to the west
00:43:09asking where her daughter was
00:43:11and Rose being
00:43:12the sadistic
00:43:12that she was
00:43:14have the audacity
00:43:14to answer the door
00:43:16wearing some of Linda's clothing
00:43:18that she was last seen in
00:43:20and also having
00:43:21some of Linda's clothing
00:43:22hanging up
00:43:23on the drying wire
00:43:24outside 25 Cromwell
00:43:26but Rose would convince Linda's mother
00:43:28that she was beating Rose's kids
00:43:30so she kicked her out of the house
00:43:32and Linda's mother
00:43:33didn't ask any more questions
00:43:34and just left
00:43:35and never reported her missing
00:43:37meanwhile Fred would continue
00:43:38to renovate
00:43:39and expand his torture room
00:43:40in the cellar
00:43:41putting hooks in the ceiling
00:43:43to be able to dangle girls
00:43:44from and other various
00:43:46homemade torture devices
00:43:48being put in place
00:43:49Fred's son Stephen
00:43:50would also later say
00:43:51that his father
00:43:52didn't only use the cellar
00:43:53to dismember bodies
00:43:54they actually had a farm
00:43:56not too far out
00:43:57of the town
00:43:58that they lived in
00:43:59that he would take them to
00:44:01to dismember them
00:44:02so Fred has
00:44:03a new and improved
00:44:04torture chamber
00:44:05and Rose is hungry
00:44:06for more victims
00:44:07at this point
00:44:08so they set out
00:44:09to find them
00:44:10Carol Ann Cooper
00:44:11and Lucy Parrington
00:44:12would be the next victims
00:44:14being held in the cellar
00:44:15for seven whole days
00:44:17while being tortured
00:44:18and eventually murdered
00:44:20and dismembered
00:44:21as well
00:44:21like the other victims
00:44:22and this is when
00:44:23Fred and Rose
00:44:24began to get into
00:44:25the groove
00:44:26and started to develop
00:44:27plans and patterns
00:44:28in their crimes
00:44:30they found that
00:44:30it was easy to lure
00:44:31people in for
00:44:32sexual acts
00:44:34but at the time
00:44:35they were mostly
00:44:35only doing that
00:44:36with men
00:44:37and not murdering them
00:44:38but they didn't really
00:44:39want to deal with
00:44:40a threat like that
00:44:41like a giant man
00:44:43so they exclusively
00:44:44switched to only
00:44:45picking up girls
00:44:46so as we know
00:44:47some of the victims
00:44:48were familiar faces
00:44:50and some of them
00:44:51were complete strangers
00:44:52often runaways
00:44:53and drifters
00:44:54and one of those
00:44:55drifters
00:44:55was Therese
00:44:57Sigenteller
00:44:58Sigenteller
00:44:59she was Swedish
00:45:01so I'm sorry
00:45:01if I'm saying that wrong
00:45:02but Therese
00:45:02was picked up
00:45:03while hitchhiking
00:45:04from London
00:45:05to Wales
00:45:05by Fred and Rose
00:45:07and they would do
00:45:07what they always do
00:45:08and take her back
00:45:09to 25 Cromwell
00:45:10and put her down
00:45:11in the cellar
00:45:12they would continue
00:45:12to torture
00:45:13and kill
00:45:14and dismember
00:45:15and bury her body
00:45:16beneath the garage
00:45:17as well
00:45:17and the West
00:45:18would just continue
00:45:19to escalate
00:45:20through each murder
00:45:21seven months after
00:45:22Therese's death
00:45:23they would pick up
00:45:24Shirley Hubbard
00:45:25at a bus stop
00:45:25and would take her
00:45:26back home
00:45:27into the cellar
00:45:27as well
00:45:28they would tape
00:45:29her entire head
00:45:30with that brown
00:45:30packing tape
00:45:31as they did
00:45:32with previous victims
00:45:33and would shove
00:45:34that small tubing
00:45:35three inches
00:45:36inside her nasal cavity
00:45:38giving her just
00:45:39barely enough air
00:45:41to breathe
00:45:42and after she
00:45:43inevitably died
00:45:43of asphyxiation
00:45:45Fred would cut
00:45:46her head off
00:45:47with the tape mask
00:45:48still on
00:45:48and would bury
00:45:49her body
00:45:50in the part
00:45:51of the cellar
00:45:51that had a shrine
00:45:52above it
00:45:53dedicated to
00:45:54Marilyn Monroe
00:45:55now although Fred
00:45:56and Rose often
00:45:56took their victims
00:45:57from the streets
00:45:58they would also
00:45:59take advantage
00:45:59of the tenants
00:46:00in their own home
00:46:01Juanita Mott
00:46:02had been living
00:46:03at 25 Cromwell Street
00:46:05for almost two years
00:46:07at this point
00:46:07which is crazy
00:46:09to think about
00:46:09just knowing
00:46:10that all those people
00:46:11that have died
00:46:12just below her
00:46:13but this was most likely
00:46:14because the rates
00:46:15at the West's house
00:46:16were so cheap
00:46:17I wonder why
00:46:18if it's too cheap
00:46:19to believe
00:46:20you're probably
00:46:21going to get murdered
00:46:22so on April 12th
00:46:251974
00:46:26Juanita would go
00:46:28into the cellar
00:46:29and never come out
00:46:30alive again
00:46:31she would be
00:46:32one of the first
00:46:32to be strung up
00:46:33by the seven foot noose
00:46:35he had placed
00:46:36in the cellar
00:46:36and also be tied up
00:46:37in bondage knots
00:46:38and she would be killed
00:46:40by a blow
00:46:40to the back of her head
00:46:42after hours
00:46:42and hours
00:46:43of torture
00:46:44and then later
00:46:45buried under the house
00:46:46with the rest
00:46:47of the victims
00:46:47and Fred would talk
00:46:49about these murders
00:46:49so callously
00:46:51in interviews
00:46:52after he got caught
00:46:53saying that
00:46:54they asked for it
00:46:55or that the murders
00:46:56were never really planned
00:46:57and it was just
00:46:58something that happened
00:46:59he was just full of shit
00:47:00from start to finish
00:47:02but during all these murders
00:47:03you're probably wondering
00:47:03why no one reported
00:47:05anybody missing
00:47:06but that was because
00:47:07most of them
00:47:08were runaways
00:47:08and at this time
00:47:10nobody really reported those
00:47:12just because they just assumed
00:47:13that they lived
00:47:14somewhere else
00:47:14if they were reported
00:47:15Rose and Fred
00:47:16were easily
00:47:17and strategically
00:47:18able to talk
00:47:19their way out of it
00:47:20so another victim
00:47:21of Fred and Rose
00:47:22was a 15 year old runaway
00:47:23that they snagged
00:47:24from a children's home
00:47:25Jordansbrook house
00:47:27and she was only known
00:47:28as Miss A
00:47:29and they would take her
00:47:30back to 25 Cromwell Street
00:47:31to live with them
00:47:32in the summer of 1976
00:47:34and she would live with them
00:47:36for a very short period
00:47:37of time
00:47:37but she would be made
00:47:38to have a horrific orgy
00:47:41consisting of the entire family
00:47:43children included
00:47:44Rose would force her children
00:47:46to suck on Miss A's hair
00:47:48as Fred and Rose
00:47:50committed unspeakable acts
00:47:51to her
00:47:52all while Rose
00:47:53was laughing maniacally
00:47:54as she always did
00:47:55during these events
00:47:56and later on
00:47:57her children would say
00:47:58how they actually had
00:48:00some fond memories
00:48:01with Fred as a father
00:48:03albeit mostly horrible
00:48:04but they did not recall
00:48:06one good memory
00:48:07of Rose as a mother
00:48:08they said that
00:48:09she was always
00:48:10the one to carry out
00:48:11the abuse
00:48:12and the violence
00:48:14in the home
00:48:15for the most part
00:48:15now Miss A
00:48:16was lucky enough
00:48:17to be allowed to leave
00:48:18but she would later
00:48:19return with a full
00:48:21tank of gas in hand
00:48:22and a lighter
00:48:23ready to light up
00:48:2525 Cromwells
00:48:26but she got too nervous
00:48:27to do it
00:48:28and she went back home
00:48:29but she would later
00:48:29testify against Rose
00:48:31in the trials
00:48:32later in the future
00:48:33so the Wests are still
00:48:34under no suspicion
00:48:35and they are regularly
00:48:36getting new tenants
00:48:37in the house
00:48:38one of which was
00:48:39Shirley Ann Robinson
00:48:41now Shirley would be
00:48:42a lot different
00:48:42from the others
00:48:43she actually had
00:48:44a relationship
00:48:45with Fred and Rose
00:48:46they were kind of like
00:48:47a throuple
00:48:48if you will
00:48:48so at the start
00:48:49this was a very
00:48:50consensual relationship
00:48:51Rose and Shirley
00:48:52would even get pregnant
00:48:53at the same time together
00:48:55and be excited
00:48:56to raise the children
00:48:57together at some point
00:48:58but this throuple situation
00:49:00would eventually fizzle out
00:49:01for reasons unknown
00:49:03but most likely
00:49:04because Rose grew jealous
00:49:06and this was a pattern
00:49:07that happened as well
00:49:08and that we'll see
00:49:09in the future as well
00:49:10so Rose gave birth
00:49:12to her child
00:49:12and shortly after
00:49:14decided that Shirley
00:49:15could no longer be around
00:49:16so Rose herself
00:49:18would strangle Shirley
00:49:19an eight-month pregnant woman
00:49:21and dispose of her
00:49:23like trash
00:49:24just like the other girls
00:49:25so after this murder
00:49:27in particular
00:49:27Rose and Fred
00:49:28would take a break
00:49:30and just focus
00:49:31on the sexual work
00:49:32that Rose would do
00:49:34and also having
00:49:35a couple more kids
00:49:36in the meantime
00:49:36because you know
00:49:37six or eight
00:49:38or however many
00:49:39they have right now
00:49:39wasn't enough
00:49:40please stop procreating
00:49:41you monsters
00:49:42I still stand behind
00:49:44my statement
00:49:44that I think
00:49:45there should be
00:49:45a psych eval test
00:49:46for any people
00:49:47wanting to have children
00:49:48but this downtime
00:49:49period wouldn't last
00:49:51because a trigger event
00:49:53would happen
00:49:53and that was
00:49:54the death
00:49:55of Rose's father
00:49:57Bill Letts
00:49:58he would die
00:49:58of mesothelioma
00:50:00I don't know
00:50:01what that is
00:50:01but here's the description
00:50:02this would inevitably
00:50:04release the kraken
00:50:05within Rose
00:50:06and she'd demand
00:50:07to go out
00:50:08hunting with Fred
00:50:09again for another victim
00:50:11and unfortunately
00:50:12that next victim
00:50:13would be
00:50:14Allison Chambers
00:50:15she was another girl
00:50:16that came from
00:50:17Jordan's Brookhouse
00:50:18this would be a house
00:50:19that they would often
00:50:19go to
00:50:20and prey on their victims
00:50:22just because
00:50:22they're helpless kids
00:50:23that don't have parents
00:50:24basically
00:50:25so they were
00:50:25they didn't have
00:50:26anywhere else to go
00:50:27and they would hire
00:50:28Allison as a nanny
00:50:29for their children
00:50:30just like they did
00:50:31with previous victims
00:50:32as well
00:50:32but she would
00:50:33unfortunately
00:50:33meet the same fate
00:50:35as the other girls
00:50:36being tortured
00:50:36beat and murdered
00:50:38and buried
00:50:39in their garden
00:50:40the only difference
00:50:41with her disappearance
00:50:41is that it was
00:50:42actually reported
00:50:43she had written
00:50:44a letter
00:50:45to Jacob's house
00:50:46saying that
00:50:47she got a job
00:50:48but she would not
00:50:48specify where
00:50:49she got the job
00:50:50so the trail
00:50:52ran cold
00:50:52unfortunately
00:50:53because she didn't
00:50:54mention that the job
00:50:55was at the West house
00:50:56if she did
00:50:56they may have
00:50:57gotten caught
00:50:58but we'll never know
00:50:59so by 1980
00:51:00there was six kids
00:51:02living at 25 Cromwell
00:51:03and after years
00:51:05and years of abuse
00:51:06by the hand
00:51:06of her own parents
00:51:08Anne Marie
00:51:09escaped and left
00:51:10her family behind
00:51:11but when she did that
00:51:13Heather became
00:51:14the eldest in the house
00:51:15and inherently
00:51:16became the sole focus
00:51:18of her parents abuse
00:51:20replacing her sister Anne
00:51:21after a while
00:51:22of being away though
00:51:23Anne was forced
00:51:24to move back in
00:51:25with her parents
00:51:26at 25 Cromwell
00:51:27but insisted
00:51:28that her boyfriend
00:51:29be with her
00:51:29at all times
00:51:30so she wouldn't
00:51:31be exposed
00:51:31to her parents
00:51:32alone anymore
00:51:33but this would leave
00:51:34Heather very vulnerable
00:51:35as well
00:51:36and during this period
00:51:37Rose would give birth
00:51:38to two more children
00:51:39somehow
00:51:40most likely being
00:51:41sexual work babies
00:51:43and not Fred's children
00:51:44which he didn't even
00:51:45really care about
00:51:46at this point
00:51:47but Fred would say
00:51:48that he would only hurt
00:51:49and lose his children
00:51:52by blood
00:51:53because he said
00:51:53it was his birthright
00:51:55Heather getting most
00:51:57of the treatment
00:51:57at this time though
00:51:58and during this time too
00:52:00and we're now in the 80s
00:52:01it is assumed
00:52:02that Fred and Rose
00:52:03were killing many more girls
00:52:06but since they didn't have proof
00:52:07and were never charged for it
00:52:09we don't actually know
00:52:10but given their lifestyle
00:52:11patterns and consistency
00:52:13of their past murders
00:52:14it's basically a guarantee
00:52:15that they were continuing
00:52:16to murder and dispose
00:52:17of girls at the time
00:52:19so naturally at this point
00:52:20Heather West
00:52:21Fred and Rose's daughter
00:52:23was tired of being tortured
00:52:24day in and day out
00:52:26and I mean they tortured her
00:52:27there was like
00:52:29I don't even know
00:52:30how many pages
00:52:30in about how she got
00:52:33afflicted with this torture
00:52:34it is absolutely horrendous
00:52:36but being extremely tired of it
00:52:39she decided she needed
00:52:41to plan an escape
00:52:42from 25 Cromwell
00:52:43and she would beg
00:52:44her older sister Anne
00:52:45to help
00:52:46but Anne knew
00:52:47it was kind of
00:52:48a pointless venture
00:52:49given how her situation
00:52:51turned out with running away
00:52:52so she didn't help Heather
00:52:53in doing that
00:52:54so one day
00:52:55Heather decided
00:52:56that today was the day
00:52:57and she got up
00:52:58to leave the house
00:52:59but wouldn't make it
00:53:00out of the house
00:53:01Rose and Fred would say
00:53:02that they thought
00:53:03Heather might be
00:53:04a lesbian at the time
00:53:06and tried beating
00:53:07and graping her out of it
00:53:09and eventually
00:53:10strangling her to death
00:53:11and they would say this
00:53:12in later interviews
00:53:13after they were arrested
00:53:14for all of the murders
00:53:15it is thought though
00:53:16that Rose was the one
00:53:18to murder and dismember her
00:53:19because of how sloppy
00:53:21it was handled
00:53:21compared to Fred's
00:53:23victim's remains
00:53:24from previous murders
00:53:26and this was also thought
00:53:27because Rose was most likely
00:53:28jealous of Heather
00:53:29getting all of Fred's
00:53:31attention at the time
00:53:32as well
00:53:33just like a few other
00:53:34murders that happened
00:53:35so after Heather
00:53:36was murdered
00:53:37she was stowed away
00:53:38under the steps
00:53:39of their back porch
00:53:40as they figured out
00:53:41how to get rid of her
00:53:43body at the time
00:53:44because at this point
00:53:45they literally just
00:53:46ran out of room
00:53:47to bury bodies
00:53:48in and outside
00:53:50of their house
00:53:51and this alludes
00:53:52to the idea
00:53:53that they murdered
00:53:54more girls
00:53:54they were just
00:53:55burying them
00:53:56somewhere else
00:53:57because they had
00:53:57nowhere else
00:53:58to put them
00:53:59on the property
00:54:00so the rest
00:54:00of the children
00:54:01would come home
00:54:02from school that day
00:54:03and obviously
00:54:03Heather had disappeared
00:54:04so they were asking
00:54:05questions
00:54:05and the way
00:54:06they covered it up
00:54:07was saying that
00:54:07Heather got a job
00:54:09at a summer camp
00:54:10and wouldn't be back
00:54:11until the fall
00:54:11so Fred would ask
00:54:12Steven West
00:54:13his son
00:54:14to help him
00:54:15dig a hole
00:54:15in the backyard
00:54:16not knowing
00:54:17that he was digging
00:54:18his own sister's grave
00:54:19and after the hole
00:54:20was dug
00:54:21Fred would dump
00:54:22her body
00:54:22in the hole
00:54:23and later build
00:54:24a patio
00:54:25over top of the grave
00:54:26sealing her body
00:54:27beneath
00:54:28shortly after
00:54:29Heather's murder
00:54:30though
00:54:30Fred decided
00:54:31that he would put
00:54:31all of his remaining
00:54:32children in the cellar
00:54:34permanently
00:54:35locking them behind
00:54:36an iron gate
00:54:37and never letting them out
00:54:39and you would see
00:54:39the childlike graffiti
00:54:41on the walls
00:54:42and the odd drawings
00:54:43that the kids would do
00:54:44to just pass the time
00:54:46being locked away
00:54:47in a cellar
00:54:48it's just so incredibly sad
00:54:50to see
00:54:51and to hear
00:54:52so Fred and Rose
00:54:53decided to make
00:54:54the first floor
00:54:54into a full-on brothel
00:54:57at this point
00:54:57while their children
00:54:58were being kept away
00:54:59in the cellar
00:55:00at all times
00:55:01and this would be the case
00:55:02for the next
00:55:03five years
00:55:05now during these years
00:55:06it's not officially known
00:55:07if Fred and Rose
00:55:08actually murdered
00:55:09any more girls
00:55:10but it was known
00:55:11that they regularly abused
00:55:13and graped many
00:55:14and one of these girls
00:55:15in 1992
00:55:16would tell her friends
00:55:18about what was happening
00:55:19to her
00:55:20with Fred and Rose
00:55:21and it would eventually
00:55:22reach the police
00:55:23and Detective Hazel Savage
00:55:26would be put on the case
00:55:27what a badass name
00:55:29now Detective Savage
00:55:30didn't only have
00:55:31an insanely badass name
00:55:33she was also just
00:55:34a badass
00:55:35being one of the first
00:55:36female detectives
00:55:37in England
00:55:38and she was literally
00:55:39known as a super cop
00:55:41amongst all other cops
00:55:42and civilians
00:55:43this woman
00:55:44is my goddamn hero
00:55:46now Detective Savage
00:55:46had already actually
00:55:47had a run-in
00:55:48with Fred
00:55:4930 years earlier
00:55:50when Irina was arrested
00:55:52for petty theft
00:55:53Irina had told
00:55:53Detective Savage
00:55:54about Fred
00:55:55and his violent
00:55:56fucked up tendencies
00:55:57and Detective Savage
00:55:59would remember this case
00:56:0030 years later
00:56:01when his name
00:56:02came up again
00:56:03this woman had the memory
00:56:04of a goddamn elephant
00:56:05so sure enough
00:56:06Savage looked into
00:56:08Fred's past offenses
00:56:09and she would find
00:56:10assault charges
00:56:11from back in 1973
00:56:13warranting her
00:56:14the ability
00:56:14to start a case
00:56:16on the Wests
00:56:17and before long
00:56:18Fred and Rose West
00:56:19were arrested
00:56:20based on that one
00:56:22charge assault
00:56:23for the time being
00:56:24but Detective Savage
00:56:25knew that there was
00:56:26probably far more
00:56:27going on behind
00:56:28closed doors
00:56:29so the interviews
00:56:30and searches began
00:56:32Savage would uncover
00:56:33the abuse
00:56:34of Anne Marie
00:56:35as well as the
00:56:36disappearances
00:56:37of Charmaine
00:56:37and Heather
00:56:38warranting further
00:56:39investigation
00:56:40rumors also arose
00:56:41about what might be
00:56:42buried under the patio
00:56:44which we know
00:56:44was Heather
00:56:45the younger West children
00:56:46were taken into care
00:56:48and Rose tried
00:56:49to take the easy way
00:56:50out at the time
00:56:51and attempted suicide
00:56:52but was unsuccessful
00:56:54because her son
00:56:55Steven found her
00:56:56and revived her
00:56:57the case against
00:56:58the West collapsed
00:56:59when two key witnesses
00:57:00though decided
00:57:01not to testify
00:57:02against them
00:57:03Savage would continue
00:57:04to pursue her
00:57:06or Heather
00:57:06questioning the West
00:57:08children repeatedly
00:57:09but they had been
00:57:10extremely well trained
00:57:11by their parents
00:57:12and failed to cooperate
00:57:13because they had been
00:57:14being brainwashed
00:57:15their entire lives
00:57:16five years of their lives
00:57:17they were locked away
00:57:18in a cellar
00:57:19for God's sake
00:57:20but in February 1994
00:57:21a warrant was obtained
00:57:23to search the Cromwell property
00:57:25and the garden
00:57:26police would find
00:57:27the remains of
00:57:28two dismembered
00:57:28and decapitated women
00:57:30one of which
00:57:31they assumed
00:57:31was Shirley Robinson
00:57:33Red West would claim
00:57:34sole responsibility
00:57:35for these murders
00:57:36and when Rose
00:57:37heard of the confession
00:57:38she denied
00:57:39all knowledge
00:57:40of Heather's death
00:57:41which we know
00:57:41is complete
00:57:42bushlaka
00:57:43then inexplicably
00:57:44Fred admitted
00:57:45the presence of the body
00:57:47in the cellar
00:57:48to the police
00:57:48this guy
00:57:49he loved to talk
00:57:50in these interviews
00:57:51he would just like
00:57:52talk talk talk talk talk
00:57:52there is uh
00:57:53plenty of tapes
00:57:54of him speaking
00:57:55which I will probably input
00:57:57and in the cellar
00:58:18they would discover
00:58:19the remains
00:58:19of nine individuals
00:58:20establishing the identities
00:58:22of each victim
00:58:23was a huge task
00:58:24to say the least
00:58:26and continuing
00:58:26to cooperate
00:58:27Fred revealed
00:58:28the location
00:58:28of the remains
00:58:29of his first wife
00:58:30Rina
00:58:31lover Anna McFall
00:58:32and daughter Charmaine
00:58:34who were all buried
00:58:35away from the
00:58:36Cromwell Street house
00:58:37and as the case
00:58:38against them
00:58:38would develop
00:58:39Rose tried increasingly
00:58:41to distance herself
00:58:42from Fred
00:58:43claiming she was
00:58:44also a victim
00:58:45but police were
00:58:45not convinced
00:58:46thankfully
00:58:47given the sheer
00:58:48number of murders
00:58:49which had occurred
00:58:50and her participation
00:58:51in the grapes
00:58:52so on December
00:58:5313th 1994
00:58:55Fred West
00:58:56was charged
00:58:57with 12 counts
00:58:58of murder
00:58:59and taken into custody
00:59:00at Winson Green Prison
00:59:01in Birmingham
00:59:02where on January 1st
00:59:041995
00:59:05he unfortunately
00:59:07took the easy way out
00:59:08or not fortunately
00:59:10I don't really know
00:59:10and he hung himself
00:59:12in his cell
00:59:12via bedsheets
00:59:14and this was predicated
00:59:15on the fact
00:59:16that Rose
00:59:16had distanced herself
00:59:18so much from him
00:59:19not responding
00:59:20to his letters
00:59:20from jail
00:59:21of which he said
00:59:22things like
00:59:23as in life
00:59:24as in earth
00:59:25our love
00:59:26will never die
00:59:26Rose and I
00:59:27will live together
00:59:28in heaven
00:59:29I will wait
00:59:29for you darling
00:59:30so please come to me
00:59:32gross
00:59:32who's gonna tell him
00:59:33he's going to hell
00:59:34and don't worry about
00:59:35she's got a VIP
00:59:36pass down there
00:59:36so she'll meet you there
00:59:37but anyway
00:59:38he felt rejected
00:59:39enough to take
00:59:40his own life
00:59:41basically
00:59:41his devotion
00:59:42to his wife
00:59:43Rose
00:59:44was most apparent
00:59:45in the paperwork
00:59:46found in the prison cell
00:59:48following his slewer slide
00:59:50he had even drawn
00:59:51a gravestone
00:59:51for himself
00:59:52and his wife
00:59:53Rose
00:59:54along with the words
00:59:55saying
00:59:55in loving memory
00:59:56Fred West
00:59:57Road West
00:59:58rest in peace
01:00:00where no shadow falls
01:00:01in perfect peace
01:00:02he waits for Rose
01:00:04his wife
01:00:04and rather than Rose
01:00:05thinking that was
01:00:06a sweet gesture
01:00:07done by
01:00:08the love of her life
01:00:09she just saw it
01:00:10as a get out of jail
01:00:11free card
01:00:11trying to use his death
01:00:13as a means of making him
01:00:14more guilty than her
01:00:15but luckily
01:00:16it didn't work
01:00:17Rose West
01:00:18went to trial
01:00:19on October 3rd
01:00:201995
01:00:21and witnesses
01:00:22including her stepdaughter
01:00:23Anne-Marie
01:00:24testified to her
01:00:25participation
01:00:26in the residual
01:00:27assaults
01:00:28on young women
01:00:29her defense counsel
01:00:30tried to argue
01:00:31that evidence of assault
01:00:32was not evidence
01:00:34of a murder
01:00:34but when Rose
01:00:35testified on her
01:00:37own behalf
01:00:37her violent nature
01:00:38and dishonesty
01:00:39became clear
01:00:40to the jury
01:00:41and they saw
01:00:41right through her lies
01:00:42and they unanimously
01:00:44and thankfully
01:00:45found her guilty
01:00:46on 10 separate counts
01:00:48of murder
01:00:49on November 22nd
01:00:501995

01:01:01by the home secretary
01:01:02effectively removing
01:01:04any possibility
01:01:05of parole
01:01:06thank God
01:01:07and Rose West
01:01:08refused to accept
01:01:09her fate
01:01:10and launched an appeal
01:01:11in 1996
01:01:12and in 2000
01:01:13claiming variously
01:01:14that new evidence
01:01:15clearing her
01:01:16had come to light
01:01:17and then that
01:01:18huge media interest
01:01:20had prevented her
01:01:21from receiving
01:01:22a fair trial
01:01:23at the time
01:01:23the 1996 appeal
01:01:25was rejected
01:01:25and she dropped
01:01:26the later one
01:01:27so she remains
