00:00This Russian woman and her two young daughters were found living in a secluded cave in the
00:04Ramatita hills near Gokarna and Karnataka, reportedly inspired by Hindu philosophy and
00:08a quest for spiritual awakening.
00:10Local police found them during a routine patrol to ensure tourist safety in the area.
00:1440-year-old Nina Khutina and her daughters, 6-year-old Prema and 4-year-old Ama were found
00:19living in complete isolation in a natural cave surrounded by dense forest and steep
00:24landslide-prone terrain.
00:25The family had been residing there for nearly two weeks.
00:28Inside the cave, Nina had set up a rudra idol and was reportedly meditating and worshipping
00:33daily, driven by a deep interest in Hindu spiritual traditions.
00:36The police immediately escorted the family down the hills and relocated them to an ashram
00:41in Banki Kodla village.
00:42However, the case took a legal turn.
00:44Nina, who initially failed to produce valid documents, later admitted that her passport
00:49and visa might have been lost in the forest.
00:51A joint search operation helped recover the documents, which revealed that she had entered
00:55India on a business visa in 2016, which had expired in 2017.
00:59She was issued an exit permit in 2018, but had re-entered India later that year from Nepal,
01:04raising red flags over visa violations.
01:07For now, Nina and her daughters have been moved to a government women's shelter in Karwar,
01:10Karnataka.
01:11Dutra Kannada police have initiated proceedings with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office
01:15in Bengaluru and repatriation efforts are underway with assistance from a local NGO and the
