Bhubaneswar (Odisha), July 13, 2025 (ANI): Biju Janata Dal (BJD) delegation met victim of FM College in Bhubaneswar on July 13. Notably, FM College’s student attempted self-immolation in front of the college gate over prolonged harassment by a senior faculty member in Balasore. “Yesterday also the delegation met the victim's parents, and today also we came here to meet them and also talked to the medical superintendent of AIIMS and the doctors who are treating her. Everyone is trying their best to give the proper treatment, but 95% of the victim's body has suffered burn injuries... But the concern is that nobody listened to a small girl's request. In 6 months, she went to everyone—went to the MP, wrote a letter to the central minister and the CM's office... After doing all this, no one listened to her... The principal and HOD harassed the girl to the point that she took such drastic steps. No one is safe here... We request the Governor to look into this matter so that no such incidents take place,” said Sulochana Das.
