Bhubaneswar (Odisha), July 13, 2025 (ANI): On the Balasore student self-immolation case, Odisha's Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj said the matter is being handled with utmost sensitivity. “The HOD and principal have been suspended, and the accused is in police custody. A high-level committee has been formed and has already left for Balasore to investigate. Strict action will follow based on the findings,” he said. The Minister also confirmed that the government will bear all medical expenses and that both he and the Health Minister are visiting AIIMS to assess the student’s condition and meet her family.
