00:01This is a teaser trailer for the Chinese action film Born to Fly.

00:29An elite pilot, it's always an elite pilot, is chosen to become China's next head test pilot of a new fighter jet.

00:36Test flight after test flight ensues, until we all assume they wait for the call to go to war

00:41and blow up people in a country that just wants democracy.

00:44We made that part of the plot up, but rest assured there will be plenty of drama and tension in this movie

00:48to go along with all the CGI jet fighter scenes.

00:51Helming his first movie is Liu Xiaoxi, who is also the co-writer of the film and I assume is an avid fan of the original Top Gun.

00:58Before we get to the cast, the executive producer is Han Han,

01:02who was quite popular for his down-to-earth comedy movies like Pegasus and Duckweed,

01:06until he directed the Chinese New Year flop Only Fool's Rush In.

01:10Leading the way in the maverick role, or whatever they are going to call him, is Yibo Wang,

01:14who has mostly been in TV series like Legend of Faye, The Untamed and Love Actually.

01:19Gruff looking Hu Jun is looking particularly gruff in this film,

01:23last seen in The Battle at Lake Changjin and The Curse of Torando amongst other hits.

01:28And proving her versatility is Dong Yu Zhao from Better Days and the upcoming trending topic and Fire on the Plane.

01:35Did you also know that when she was 9, she was one of the voices in the Chinese dub of Spirited Away?

01:41Currently, no release date is set for this except a tentative 2022.
