00:00In the future, if you get your love,
00:05will you die for that love or fight?
00:13Look, this is my age neither to die nor to fight.
00:19This is my age of living.
00:21And I live only.
00:23And that's not the energy for love and love.
00:26That's what happened.
00:28If you come here, it's very good.
00:30I welcome it with open eyes.
00:31If you don't come here,
00:33there are four options for KBC.
00:36Thank you so much.
00:38Firstly, congratulations to the entire team.
00:40The trailer looks very intense.
00:42So congratulations on that.
00:43Karan sir, my question is to you.
00:45It's slightly away from Dhadak.
00:47You know, in today's time,
00:49there is a big conversation happening around film reviews.
00:52Like if you look at the West,
00:54Superman, there was actually a conversation
00:56where the advance booking saw a big spike after the reviews came out.
01:00Last year, you took a decision of completely stopping the press screenings.
01:05And you had your reasons for that.
01:07Now in today's time, when there is so much happening
01:10and when reviews are accessible and when you are making films like
01:13a Kesari, which is heavy on word of mouth,
01:15a Dhadak, which is heavily dependent on word of mouth.
01:18What's your thought on reviews and do you plan to revoke the idea of, you know,
01:23not hosting screenings prior to the release?
01:26So the reason, Himesh, I took that decision at that point of time is,
01:32as you know, and everybody knows this, that we at Dharma Productions
01:35have always shared our films.
01:37We've always had press screenings the evening before,
01:40sometimes even before that.
01:42I believe in very much, even though we are in turbulent times today
01:46and we don't know the authenticity levels of what social media has to offer,
01:50yet I believe in the power of the media.
01:54I am supportive of the media.
01:56I am a member of the media myself.
01:58I have a talk show.
01:59So I believe I am a member of the media myself.
02:01I have full faith in media and I know the power of what they can say
02:05and the power of change that they can bring.
02:07My big issue was when you have a certain kind of an embargo,
02:12you know, when you are seeing the film.
02:14And what I was noticing really was that on social media,
02:18that embargo was being broken,
02:20where people were writing very subtly about the film
02:23or indicating something they thought,
02:25even if it was not a proper review,
02:28it was an indication, it was a suggestion.
02:30In a sense, that is also breaking embargo.
02:33And that's what really upset me on a personal level
02:37and as a filmmaker and as a studio head.
02:39I don't want to be fixed on that all through my career
02:44because I believe that movies should be shown to the media.
02:47And criticism is something I'm not afraid of
02:49because just as we have a right to tell our stories,
02:52a critic has the right to criticize us or dislike what we've done.
02:56It's never about the fear of criticism.
02:59It's just that we want to show you our film,
03:03so can you please protect the film till the film is released?
03:08And then write whatever you need to in the morning of the film.
03:11That is my fear.
03:12That is my fear.
03:13So had I to go back, it will be with the hope
03:17that everybody keeps that embargo alive.
03:21If everyone promises that there will not be those leaks
03:24or there will not be those visual put-out
03:27or subtle lines about our film,
03:29I would love to share.
03:31Dharak and Every Dharma production film
03:33way before its release.
