00:00phantom weight showcase fight sergio pettis ray fion stotz former teammates neither of these in
00:04the tournament of course both these guys made big names for themselves in bellator
00:07stotz a 36 year old american former title holder eight and one in bellator two fight win streak
00:1213 and two in his last eight years i thought he was going to take this fight pettis a 31 year
00:17old american from milwaukee brother of anthony pettis of course former ufc fighter former
00:22bellator title holder i lost three fights in a row here i've been on a slide so i thought
00:26stotz was going to take care of advantage of that pettis gets the win by unanimous decision 29 28
00:30on all three judges scorecards i don't necessarily agree with that i think stotz did take the fight
00:35a lot of the online uh you know people thought so as well the you know longtime commentators on
00:41mma but the judges see it in the way of pettis he gets it i thought stotz took round one
00:46and two and then pettis took three judges give it all three to pettis on round one even though
00:52stotz got a late takedown with some back and forth action before that they give it to stotz in round
00:57two where again he starts getting takedown starts to you know use that wrestling a little bit more
01:01does the same in round three but still the judges scored it in the favor of pettis giving him
01:06that first round and that third round on all their cards and he gets the victory now
01:11both uh stotz and his corner look surprised but they don't go crazy out of it media all had it for
01:17stotz i had it for stotz that's the way sometimes it goes when you leave it in the hands of judges
01:22pettis now 24 and 7 for his career 16 of those 24 wins by decision stotz now 21 and 3 in his career
01:29might not be the last time we see these two guys match up i'm sure we'll see them again sometime
01:33in the pfl whether it's a tournament whether it's fighting for a chance of title we will see
01:38middleweight semifinal between dalton rasta and aaron jeffrey at rasta 29 year old american from
01:44pennsylvania who beat sadabu si by darsh choke in the second round to get here jeffrey the 32 year old
01:49canadian beat mirad ramazana by split decision i thought rasta would get the tko victory he beats
01:54jeffrey but by split decision 29 28 27 30 29 28 for rasta not sure what the heck that second judge was
02:03seeing to give all three rounds to jeffrey i thought jeffrey stalked you know he was trying to bring
02:07action trying to get some good clinch scenarios but i thought rasta did a good job with some good stiff
02:12jabs and check hooks to back up jeffrey a bunch of times i thought jeffrey just didn't really do much
02:17or nearly enough to get things going for him and get the points he needed i thought rasta
02:22was doing a good job circling you know striking from the outside outscoring his opponent sometimes
02:27jeffrey would get the clinch but i really did not think that jeffrey did much at all in order to get
02:31a 30 27 from one judge i don't know what he was seeing maybe one round of best definitely not three
02:37rasta 11 and one now avenges the only loss of his career when these two fought back in 2023 jeffrey now
02:43falls to 16 and 6 the other light heavyweight semifinal antonio carlos jr versus simeon powell
02:49carlos jr the 35 year old from brazil known as shoe face one of the most interesting nicknames in mma
02:55going again he'd be carl moore by split decision in the quarterfinals to get here kind of a lackluster
03:00fight but so is powell who the 26 year old englishman who's fighting at an island now training
03:04there former bellator fighter beat carlo brexton by punches and elbows in the second round it was a good
03:10win for him but a brexton really didn't offer him much i thought powell would get the decision win
03:13ends up being carlos jr with the better performance here over powell he gets the unanimous decision win
03:1829 28 on all three judges cards i thought you know for me it was 30 27 carlos jr i think the judges
03:25might have given the first round to powell i thought carlos jr got better as the fight went on
03:29you know started getting his opponent gets a cage and the clinch working his body working you know the
03:34legs with some knees just beating him up with some great clinch work wasn't the most exciting fight
03:39by any regard but i have 30 27 for carlos jr he gets 29 28 on the judges scorecards
03:45and he moves on to 18 and 6 powell now 11 and 2 so carlos jr moves on in that light heavyweight division
03:53to then go against of course as we said the surprising collie it's gonna be interesting fight
03:59here collie i think with the wrestling can keep carlos jr off him can he do enough to win we'll see
04:04he also had a great fight two great fights well one great fight one disappointing one in heavyweight
04:10the semifinals both those were on the prelim cards on espn plus you had of course the main one between
04:16popov and rodriguez nasiento pretty boring popov just putting him against the cage holding the
04:22clinch beating him up a little bit the one surprising one moldovsky romanov romanov pretty much in control
04:28of that fight then towards the end of that first round moldovsky throws a knee to the groin
04:32usually you take your five minutes you continue moldovsky couldn't even get off the mat in fetal
04:36position for the whole five minutes ends up being carried out on the stretcher fight ends in no
04:41contest but because of the tournament they had the judges score what they thought up into the first
04:45four and a half minutes of that fight they give to romanov he moves on to the finals where he'll face
04:49popov if he can recover
