00:00Leeds United full-back Sam Byram has said that he is over the moon to have signed a new contract at Leeds United that will keep him at the club in the Premier League.
00:10Over the moon to get this over the line and to be back in for day one of pre-season, it's the best news ever.
00:17Obviously it's a huge challenge ahead, but one that I'm dead excited for.
00:20I'm hopeful to add my experience from the past and do whatever I can for the club to help our ambitions for this year.
00:27I've said in the past it was a dream of mine to get promoted with Leeds and then obviously to be around for the Premier League season is sort of that one step further.
00:36But it's something I'm so grateful for and something I'm dead excited about.
00:40First season, I think you never forget that. There's so many memories.
00:44But even coming back two years ago, I think you create new memories with new people.
00:49And a lot of the people from last year are still there from today on day one.
00:53So it's just as exciting this year as any other and I can't wait to get started.
00:57To reach the Premier League with your boyhood club, I think when you're younger it probably seems out of reach.
01:02But as the years go on, it's just something that I can't believe has happened.
01:06We need to obviously not underestimate the task ahead. It's a huge task.
01:10I think the past two seasons prove how difficult it is to stay in the league.
01:14And Bradford City boss Graham Alexander has revealed that the club did have a plan for early recruitment this summer.
01:21Yeah, I think we had a clear idea of, I think going back to last summer, we had a clear idea going into the summer of what we wanted to do.
01:32I think we still had a clear idea this season going into it.
01:36We obviously had a, you know, when I look back to last year, I'd had maybe, what, five, six months working with the squad.
01:45I think David had just joined maybe two months previous to the end of the season, so to speak.
01:50So we were still finding our feet as in how we work and the actual squad that we had.
01:56But this year, you know, we're a year down the line.
01:59We know the squad better.
02:01Obviously, myself and David have been here longer to work with Ryan and Jenty.
02:06And so I think we had a really clear idea of not just what we wanted to try and bring in, but what we had actually to work with already.
