00:00The ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting, SOM, concluded on Monday, setting the stage for the 58th ASEAN Foreign Minister's Meeting, AMM, which will begin on Tuesday in Kuala Lumpur.
00:14Foreign Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Sri Amran Mohamed Zinn, who chaired the SOM, said preparations for the AMM are well underway, with discussions among senior officials proceeding smoothly.
00:26As the 2025 ASEAN Chair, Malaysia will also host trilateral meetings involving the ASEAN Secretariat and four partner countries, Norway, Switzerland, Brazil, and Turkey.
00:40Foreign Minister Datuk Sri Mohamed Hassan is scheduled to hold a series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from ASEAN member states and dialogue partner countries during the event.
00:52Monday's meeting brought together Secretaries-General and senior representatives from the foreign ministries of ASEAN countries, who finalized plans and exchanged views on key regional and international issues expected to be raised at the AMM.
01:06Held under the theme ASEAN 2025 Inclusivity and Sustainability, the 58th AMM will feature 24 ministerial-level sessions, including engagements with ASEAN dialogue partners and sectoral dialogue partners.
01:23The meetings will take place from July 8th to 11th at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, with around 1,500 delegates expected to attend.
