00:00The Red Sox don't have any stress right now.
00:02They've been playing fabulous baseball, and we're sitting here.
00:06You heard us betting on guys, Abreu, Roman Candle,
00:11and I'm even in on some Duran Duran for some action tonight
00:15against this righty Bradley.
00:18The Rays finally won a game last night, but they have not been playing well,
00:21and the way the Red Sox have been playing, kicking everyone's ass
00:24and scoring 10 runs a game.
00:26I mean, I've been betting on them left and right.
00:29Yeah.
00:30Well, as you should be, and riding the run line, obviously,
00:32throughout the stretch of games that they just played.
00:35But look, I don't want to be the Debbie Downer to this thing,
00:38especially with this beautiful Boston backdrop behind me,
00:40but I don't think we can talk about the Red Sox success, Scotty,
00:45without at least acknowledging the reality of who they've been playing.
00:49You know, they're 8-1 over their last nine, and that's awesome.
00:52Win the games that are on your schedule.
00:54That is the most important thing.
00:56But they've played Cincinnati, who is the dictionary definition of mediocre,
01:01and they've played Washington and Colorado, a team in the Rockies that is historically bad.
01:08Washington is flat-out terrible, but the Rockies are historically bad.
01:12So the Red Sox should be putting up, you know, whatever it is, 10 runs a game and have 18 homers over their last nine games.
01:19And, you know, I just pulled up some last nine stats, you know, just to give us the perfectly small sample size.
01:26They're hitting 340.
01:28The OBP is close to 400.
01:31The slugging is up over 600.
01:33So, obviously, you know, you put the OPS together there, that's right around 1,000.
01:38I mean, they are tearing the cover off the ball and mostly at Fenway Park.
01:42Again, doing what they are supposed to do.
01:44But whereas this Rays team is, you know, not great,
01:49like I wouldn't be afraid of them in contention for the American League East or something like that,
01:54but they are better than any of what the Red Sox just saw over the last week and a half.
02:00So, you know, I wouldn't go crazy betting on Boston tonight.
02:05In fact, I like Taj Bradley enough to say maybe Tampa first five is the play,
02:11even if you believe the Red Sox are going to ultimately win this game.
02:14I do like Tampa first five.
02:17You know, as far as some of those home run props, I mean, look, there's numbers that go into it
02:22and there's data and there's hard hit contact rate and all of these fly ball rate.
02:27All the things, I get it.
02:29You know, but at the end of the day, there's still kind of a crapshoot too.
02:32So, you know, I don't know.
02:33I would say tread carefully and let's not, you know,
02:36overemphasize what Boston has done of late to put itself now into a playoff position
02:42just before the All-Star break.
02:43Well, they had 15 hits last night
02:46and they've had at least 11 hits in the last seven games.
02:53I mean, if you're paying money to go to Fenway to see the Red Sox
02:58and they're greasing that many hits and the home runs were flying last night, right?
03:03Narvaez, Ebreu, Romy, Duran, they all hit them.
03:08Roman's been finally hitting one out at home.
03:12He hadn't hit one until just the other day.
03:15Now, what do you think of him?
03:17And can you imagine, like, if I'm a fan, I want to go see them right now
03:21the way they've been hitting?
03:23Yeah, I mean, look, Sedan Raffaella has sort of become the, of late,
03:31Rafael Devers' equivalent, right?
03:33He's been tearing the cover off the ball since Devers got traded, basically.
03:36Trevor Story, who, you know, people wanted to DFA,
03:40designate for assignment not long ago,
03:42now has had an incredible stretch since the beginning of June, basically.
03:46He has been awesome.
03:47So, look, guys have come alive.
03:49And obviously, you mentioned Roman Anthony, who's the, you know,
03:52he was the number one prospect in baseball up there anyhow.
03:56And obviously, top in the farm system and comes in.
03:58And yeah, after a little bit of a slow start, he's hitting well.
04:01And, you know, you get, you know, some of these other younger guys,
04:05whether it's Marcelo Meyer or, you know, obviously,
04:09Jaron Duran has been around for a little while,
04:11a guy that, you know, we wonder around here
04:14if he's about to get traded before the deadline.
